Als er aber die Volksmengen sah, stieg er auf den Berg; und als er sich gesetzt hatte, traten seine Jünger zu ihm.

Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; wenn aber das Salz kraftlos geworden ist, womit soll es gesalzen werden? Es taugt zu nichts mehr, als hinausgeworfen und von den Menschen zertreten zu werden.

Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra: y si la sal se desvaneciere ¿con qué será salada? no vale más para nada, sino para ser echada fuera y hollada de los hombres.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ihr seid das Licht der Welt; eine Stadt, die oben auf einem Berge liegt, kann nicht verborgen sein.

Vosotros sois la luz del mundo: una ciudad asentada sobre un monte no se puede esconder.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Man zündet auch nicht eine Lampe an und setzt sie unter den Scheffel sondern auf das Lampengestell, und sie leuchtet allen, die im Hause sind.

Ni se enciende una lámpara y se pone debajo de un almud, mas sobre el candelero, y alumbra á todos los que están en casa.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.

Also lasset euer Licht leuchten vor den Menschen, damit sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater, der in den Himmeln ist, verherrlichen.

Así alumbre vuestra luz delante de los hombres, para que vean vuestras obras buenas, y glorifiquen á vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

Wähnet nicht, daß ich gekommen sei, das Gesetz oder die Propheten aufzulösen; ich bin nicht gekommen, aufzulösen, sondern zu erfüllen.

Denn wahrlich, ich sage euch: Bis der Himmel und die Erde vergehen, soll auch nicht ein Jota oder ein Strichlein von dem Gesetz vergehen, bis alles geschehen ist.

Porque de cierto os digo, que hasta que perezca el cielo y la tierra, ni una jota ni un tilde perecerá de la ley, hasta que todas las cosas sean hechas.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.

Wer irgend nun eines dieser geringsten Gebote auflöst und also die Menschen lehrt, wird der Geringste heißen im Reiche der Himmel; wer irgend aber sie tut und lehrt, dieser wird groß heißen im Reiche der Himmel.

De manera que cualquiera que infringiere uno de estos mandamientos muy pequeños, y así enseñare á los hombres, muy pequeño será llamado en el reino de los cielos: mas cualquiera que hiciere y enseñare, éste será llamado grande en el reino de los cielos.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Denn ich sage euch: Wenn nicht eure Gerechtigkeit vorzüglicher ist als die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in das Reich der Himmel eingehen.

Porque os digo, que si vuestra justicia no fuere mayor que la de los escribas y de los Fariseos, no entraréis en el reino de los cielos.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht töten; wer aber irgend töten wird, wird dem Gericht verfallen sein.

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: No matarás; mas cualquiera que matare, será culpado del juicio.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

Ich aber sage euch, daß jeder, der seinem Bruder ohne Grund zürnt, dem Gericht verfallen sein wird; wer aber irgend zu seinem Bruder sagt: Raka! dem Synedrium verfallen sein wird; wer aber irgend sagt: Du Narr! der Hölle des Feuers verfallen sein wird.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que se enojare locamente con su hermano, será culpado del juicio; y cualquiera que dijere á su hermano, Raca, será culpado del concejo; y cualquiera que dijere, Fatuo, será culpado del infierno del fuego.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of the judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.

Wenn du nun deine Gabe darbringst zu dem Altar und dich daselbst erinnerst, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich habe,

Por tanto, si trajeres tu presente al altar, y allí te acordares de que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti,

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,

so laß daselbst deine Gabe vor dem Altar und geh zuvor hin, versöhne dich mit deinem Bruder; und dann komm und bringe deine Gabe dar.

Deja allí tu presente delante del altar, y vete, vuelve primero en amistad con tu hermano, y entonces ven y ofrece tu presente.

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Willfahre deiner Gegenpartei schnell, während du mit ihr auf dem Wege bist; damit nicht etwa die Gegenpartei dich dem Richter überliefere, und der Richter dich dem Diener überliefere, und du ins Gefängnis geworfen werdest.

Concíliate con tu adversario presto, entre tanto que estás con él en el camino; porque no acontezca que el adversario te entregue al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y seas echado en prisión.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

Wahrlich, ich sage dir: Du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis du auch den letzten Pfennig bezahlt hast.

De cierto te digo, que no saldrás de allí, hasta que pagues el último cuadrante.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’

Ich aber sage euch, daß jeder, der ein Weib ansieht, ihrer zu begehren, schon Ehebruch mit ihr begangen hat in seinem Herzen.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que mira á una mujer para codiciarla, ya adulteró con ella en su corazón.

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Wenn aber dein rechtes Auge dich ärgert, so reiß es aus und wirf es von dir; denn es ist dir nütze, daß eines deiner Glieder umkomme und nicht dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde.

Por tanto, si tu ojo derecho te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo, y échalo de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Und wenn deine rechte Hand dich ärgert, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir; denn es ist dir nütze, daß eines deiner Glieder umkomme und nicht dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde.

Y si tu mano derecha te fuere ocasión de caer, córtala, y échala de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Es ist aber gesagt: Wer irgend sein Weib entlassen wird, gebe ihr einen Scheidebrief.

También fué dicho: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, déle carta de divorcio:

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

“It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’

Ich aber sage euch: Wer irgend sein Weib entlassen wird, außer auf Grund von Hurerei, macht, daß sie Ehebruch begeht; und wer irgend eine Entlassene heiratet, begeht Ehebruch.

Mas yo os digo, que el que repudiare á su mujer, fuera de causa de fornicación, hace que ella adultere; y el que se casare con la repudiada, comete adulterio.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

Wiederum habt ihr gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht fälschlich schwören, du sollst aber dem Herrn deine Eide erfüllen.

Además habéis oído que fué dicho á los antiguos: No te perjurarás; mas pagarás al Señor tus juramentos.

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

“Again you have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’

Ich aber sage euch: Schwöret überhaupt nicht; weder bei dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron;

Mas yo os digo: No juréis en ninguna manera: ni por el cielo, porque es el trono de Dios;

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:

but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;

noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist seiner Füße Schemel; noch bei Jerusalem, denn sie ist des großen Königs Stadt;

Ni por la tierra, porque es el estrado de sus pies; ni por Jerusalem, porque es la ciudad del gran Rey.

Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

noch sollst du bei deinem Haupte schwören, denn du vermagst nicht, ein Haar weiß oder schwarz zu machen.

Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

Es sei aber eure Rede: Ja, ja; nein, nein; was aber mehr ist als dieses, ist aus dem Bösen.

Mas sea vuestro hablar: Sí, sí; No, no; porque lo que es más de esto, de mal procede.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Auge um Auge, und Zahn um Zahn.

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: Ojo por ojo, y diente por diente.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’

Ich aber sage euch: Widerstehet nicht dem Bösen, sondern wer irgend dich auf deinen rechten Backen schlagen wird, dem biete auch den anderen dar;

Mas yo os digo: No resistáis al mal; antes á cualquiera que te hiriere en tu mejilla diestra, vuélvele también la otra;

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

und dem, der mit dir vor Gericht gehen und deinen Leibrock nehmen will, dem laß auch den Mantel.

Y al que quisiere ponerte á pleito y tomarte tu ropa, déjale también la capa;

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.

Und wer irgend dich zwingen wird, eine Meile zu gehen, mit dem geh zwei.

Y á cualquiera que te cargare por una milla, ve con él dos.

And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Gib dem, der dich bittet, und weise den nicht ab, der von dir borgen will.

Al que te pidiere, dale; y al que quisiere tomar de ti prestado, no se lo rehuses.

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.

Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen.

Oísteis que fué dicho: Amarás á tu prójimo, y aborrecerás á tu enemigo.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde, segnet, die euch fluchen, tut wohl denen, die euch hassen, und betet für die, die euch beleidigen und verfolgen,

Mas yo os digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, bendecid á los que os maldicen, haced bien á los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen;

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

damit ihr Söhne eures Vaters seid, der in den Himmeln ist; denn er läßt seine Sonne aufgehen über Böse und Gute und läßt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.

Para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos: que hace que su sol salga sobre malos y buenos, y llueve sobre justos é injustos.

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Denn wenn ihr liebet, die euch lieben, welchen Lohn habt ihr? Tun nicht auch die Zöllner dasselbe?

Porque si amareis á los que os aman, ¿qué recompensa tendréis? ¿no hacen también lo mismo los publicanos?

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Und wenn ihr eure Brüder allein grüßet, was tut ihr Besonderes? Tun nicht auch die von den Nationen dasselbe?

Y si abrazareis á vuestros hermanos solamente, ¿qué hacéis de más? ¿no hacen también así los Gentiles?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Ihr nun sollt vollkommen sein, wie euer himmlischer Vater vollkommen ist.

Sed, pues, vosotros perfectos, como vuestro Padre que está en los cielos es perfecto.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
