Aber als er die (Volks-)Menge sah, stieg er auf den Berg (ging hinauf) und setzte sich (nieder), seine Schüler (Jünger) traten (kamen) zu ihm.

Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; wenn das Salz töricht (fade, geschmacklos) wird (sich als Torheit erweist), womit wird man salzen? (womit wird man es wieder salzig machen?, womit wird Gott salzen?) Zu nichts ist es noch nutze, außer (als dass) man es hinausschütte (hinauswirft) und es von den Menschen zertreten (verächtlich behandelt) werde.

Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra: y si la sal se desvaneciere ¿con qué será salada? no vale más para nada, sino para ser echada fuera y hollada de los hombres.

Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Eine Stadt, die oben auf einem Berg liegt, kann nicht verborgen bleiben.

Vosotros sois la luz del mundo: una ciudad asentada sobre un monte no se puede esconder.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Auch nicht zündet man eine Lampe (ein Licht) an und stellt sie (es) unter den Scheffel (Gefäß, Schüssel), sondern auf den Leuchter (Lampenständer); und sie leuchtet (denen) allen in dem Haus.

Ni se enciende una lámpara y se pone debajo de un almud, mas sobre el candelero, y alumbra á todos los que están en casa.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.

So sollt ihr euer Licht leuchten lassen (soll euer Licht leuchten) vor den Menschen, damit sie sehen eure guten Taten (Werke) und preisen (ehren, rühmen) euren Vater im Himmel.

Así alumbre vuestra luz delante de los hombres, para que vean vuestras obras buenas, y glorifiquen á vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Amen (wahrlich), denn ich sage euch: Bis vergehen (der) Himmel und (die) Erde soll vom Gesetz nicht ein einziges Jota oder ein einziges Häkchen (Strichlein) vergehen, bis (dies) alles geschieht (geschehen ist).

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.

Wer also (den, wie gesagt) auflöst (außer Kraft setzt) auch nur eines (das kleinste) dieser Gebote, und sei es das kleinste, und so (derart, solches) lehrt die Menschen, der wird der Geringste (Kleinste) sein (genannt, berufen, gerufen) im Reich der Himmel (Himmelreich). Wer aber so (derart) tut(, was das Gebot verlangt) und so lehrt, der wird groß sein (berufen, genannt) im Reich der Himmel.

De manera que cualquiera que infringiere uno de estos mandamientos muy pequeños, y así enseñare á los hombres, muy pequeño será llamado en el reino de los cielos: mas cualquiera que hiciere y enseñare, éste será llamado grande en el reino de los cielos.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Denn ich sage euch, dass (:) wenn euch nicht überfließend zuteil wird Gerechtigkeit, die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer (diese nicht weit übertrifft), werdet ihr nicht ins Reich der Himmel (Himmelreich) hineinkommen.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Ihr habt gehört, dass zu den Alten gesagt wurde: Du sollst nicht töten; wer aber tötet (mordet), der ist schuldig (festgehalten, verfallen) dem Gericht (sei dem Gericht übergeben).

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: No matarás; mas cualquiera que matare, será culpado del juicio.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

Ich aber sage euch, dass (:) jeder (alle, die), der zürnt (zornig ist) seinem Bruder, ist schuldig (festgehalten, verfallen) dem Gericht (sei dem Gericht übergeben). (Und) Wer (Der) sagt zu seinem Bruder: Narr (Hohlkopf) („Du Trottel“), der ist verfallen dem Hohen Rat (lokalen Gericht) (sei dem Hohen Rat übergeben); (Und) wer (Der) sagt: Tor (Idiot) („Du Narr“), der sei (schuldig) der Feuerhölle (Hölle des Feuers) übergeben.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que se enojare locamente con su hermano, será culpado del juicio; y cualquiera que dijere á su hermano, Raca, será culpado del concejo; y cualquiera que dijere, Fatuo, será culpado del infierno del fuego.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of the judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.

Wenn du nun (also) bringst (darbringst, überreichst) deine Opfergabe zum (auf) Altar und dir dort einfällt (du dich dort erinnerst), dass dein Bruder etwas gegen dich hat,

Por tanto, si trajeres tu presente al altar, y allí te acordares de que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti,

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,

dann lass deine Gabe dort vor dem Altar liegen (zurück) und geh (hin), versöhne dich zuerst mit deinem Bruder; und dann (darauf) †komm bring deine Gabe dar.

Deja allí tu presente delante del altar, y vete, vuelve primero en amistad con tu hermano, y entonces ven y ofrece tu presente.

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Verständige (Einige, Komme entgegen) dich mit deinem Gegner(Widersacher, Feind) †in einem Rechtsstreit unverzüglich (schnell, bald, rasch), solange (während) du mit ihm unterwegs bist, damit er dich nicht dem Richter übergeibt und der Richter dem Gerichtsdiener und man dich ins Gefängnis wirft.

Concíliate con tu adversario presto, entre tanto que estás con él en el camino; porque no acontezca que el adversario te entregue al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y seas echado en prisión.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.

Amen (Wahrlich), ich sage dir: Du wirst nicht herauskommen von dort, bis du den letzten Heller (Kupfermünze) bezahlt hast.

De cierto te digo, que no saldrás de allí, hasta que pagues el último cuadrante.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.

Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt wurde: Du sollst nicht ehebrechen!

Oísteis que fué dicho: No adulterarás:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’

Ich aber sage euch, dass (:) jeder, der eine Frau ansieht und sie begehrt (um sie zu begehren), hat schon Ehebruch mit ihr begangen in seinem Herzen.

Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que mira á una mujer para codiciarla, ya adulteró con ella en su corazón.

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Wenn aber dein rechtes Auge dich zu Fall bringt (verführt), reiß es aus und wirf es von dir (weg); Es ist besser †für dich (es ist von Vorteil), eines deiner (Körper-) Glieder geht verloren, als dass dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen wird.

Por tanto, si tu ojo derecho te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo, y échalo de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Und wenn deine rechte Hand dich zu Fall bringt (verführt), hau sie ab und wirf sie von dir (weg). Es ist besser †für dich (es ist von Vorteil), eines deiner (Körper-) Glieder geht verloren, als dass dein ganzer Leib zur Hölle fährt (in die Hölle eingeht, hingeht).

Y si tu mano derecha te fuere ocasión de caer, córtala, y échala de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Es wurde aber auch gesagt: Wer seine Frau entlässt (fortschickt, sich von ihr scheidet), soll ihr einen Scheidebrief geben.

También fué dicho: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, déle carta de divorcio:

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

“It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’

Ich aber sage euch, dass (:) jeder, der seine Frau entlässt, außer sie ist der Unzucht schuldig, treibt sie in den Ehebruch (tut, das die Ehe mit ihr gebrochen wird), und wer eine entlassene (geschiedene) Frau heiratet, bricht ihre Ehe (begeht Ehebruch).

Mas yo os digo, que el que repudiare á su mujer, fuera de causa de fornicación, hace que ella adultere; y el que se casare con la repudiada, comete adulterio.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

Weiter (wiederum) habt ihr gehört, dass gesagt wurde zu den Alten: Du sollst keinen Meineid schwören, du sollst aber erfüllen dem Herrn deine Eide (sondern dem Herrn deine Eide einlösen).

Además habéis oído que fué dicho á los antiguos: No te perjurarás; mas pagarás al Señor tus juramentos.

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

“Again you have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’

Ich aber sage (befehle, fordere euch auf) euch, ihr sollt überhaupt nicht schwören. Nicht bei †dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron (ein Thron Gottes)

Mas yo os digo: No juréis en ninguna manera: ni por el cielo, porque es el trono de Dios;

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:

but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;

nicht bei der Erde, denn sie ist ein Schemel (Fußbank) seiner Füße, nicht bei Jerusalem, denn sie ist eine Stadt des großen Königs

Ni por la tierra, porque es el estrado de sus pies; ni por Jerusalem, porque es la ciudad del gran Rey.

Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

und auch bei deinem Haupt sollst du nicht schwören, denn es steht nicht in deiner Macht (du vermagst nicht), auch nur ein einziges Haar weiß zu machen (werden zu lassen) oder schwarz.

Ni por tu cabeza jurarás, porque no puedes hacer un cabello blanco ó negro.

Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can’t make one hair white or black.

Es sei eure Rede (Wort) Ja Ja, Nein Nein; was über dies (das übliche) hinausgeht (jedes weitere Wort) ist aus dem Bösen (von Übel).

Mas sea vuestro hablar: Sí, sí; No, no; porque lo que es más de esto, de mal procede.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt wurde: Auge um (gegen) Auge und Zahn um (gegen) Zahn.

Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: Ojo por ojo, y diente por diente.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’

Ich aber sage euch: Leistet (widersetzt euch nicht) dem, der Böses tut, (dem bösen Menschen) keinen Widerstand! Nein (im Gegenteil, sondern), wenn dich einer schlägt auf die †deine rechte Backe, †dann halte (anbieten, darbieten) ihm auch die andere hin.

Mas yo os digo: No resistáis al mal; antes á cualquiera que te hiriere en tu mejilla diestra, vuélvele también la otra;

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Und wenn dich einer vor Gericht ziehen (verurteilen) will und dein Untergewand bekommen (Nehmen, ergreifen) will, †dann lass (gib) ihm auch den Mantel (das Gewand).

Y al que quisiere ponerte á pleito y tomarte tu ropa, déjale también la capa;

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.

Und wenn dich einer zwingt, eine Meile †mitzugehen, †dann geh mit ihm zwei.

Y á cualquiera que te cargare por una milla, ve con él dos.

And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Dem, der dich bittet, sollst du geben (gib) und von dem, der von dir borgen (leihen) will wende dich nicht ab.

Al que te pidiere, dale; y al que quisiere tomar de ti prestado, no se lo rehuses.

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.

Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt wurde: Du sollst deinen Nächsten (Mitmenschen) lieben und deinen Feind hassen.

Oísteis que fué dicho: Amarás á tu prójimo, y aborrecerás á tu enemigo.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Ich aber sage euch: Liebt eure Feinde und betet für die, die euch verfolgen,

Mas yo os digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, bendecid á los que os maldicen, haced bien á los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen;

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

auf dass (damit) ihr werdet Söhne eures Vaters †der ist in den Himmeln, weil (da, denn) er lässt aufgehen die Sonne über bösen und guten und lässt †es regnen über gerechten und ungerechten.

Para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos: que hace que su sol salga sobre malos y buenos, y llueve sobre justos é injustos.

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Denn wenn ihr die liebt, die euch lieben, welchen Lohn habt ihr (könnt ihr da erwarten)? Tun nicht auch die Zöllner das selbe?

Porque si amareis á los que os aman, ¿qué recompensa tendréis? ¿no hacen también lo mismo los publicanos?

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Und wenn ihr freundlich seid zu (grüßt) euren Brüdern, was tut ihr mehr (Besonderes, Aussergewöhnliches)? Tun nicht auch die Heiden das selbe?

Y si abrazareis á vuestros hermanos solamente, ¿qué hacéis de más? ¿no hacen también así los Gentiles?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?

Ihr sollt wie gesagt (also, demnach) vollkommen sein, wie euer himmlischer Vater vollkommen ist.

Sed, pues, vosotros perfectos, como vuestro Padre que está en los cielos es perfecto.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
