1Tengan cuidado de no hacer sus buenas obras delante de los hombres, para ser vistos por ellos; de otra manera no tendrán recompensa de su Padre que está en el cielo.
2Cuando le den dinero a los pobres no lo anuncien en público, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las calles, para que tengan la gloria de los hombres. Verdaderamente, les digo, ellos ya tienen su recompensa.
3Pero cuando den dinero, no dejen que tu mano izquierda vea lo que hace tu mano derecha:
4Para que tu ofrenda sea en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en secreto, te dará tu recompensa.
5Y cuando hagan sus oraciones, no sean como los hipócritas, que tienen el placer de levantarse y decir sus oraciones en las sinagogas y en las calles para que los hombres los puedan ver. De cierto les digo que ellos ya tienen su recompensa.
6Pero cuando hagas tu oración, ve a tu habitacion privada, y, cerrando la puerta, di una oración a tu Padre en secreto, y tu Padre, que ve en secreto, te dará tu recompensa.
7Y en su oración, no hagan uso de las mismas palabras una y otra vez, como hacen los gentiles: porque tienen la idea de que Dios les prestará atención por el número de sus palabras.
8Así que no sean como ellos; porque su Padre tiene conocimiento de sus necesidades incluso antes de que ustedes pidan.
9Deja que esta sea tu oración: Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo, que tu nombre sea santificado.
10Venga tu reino. Que se haga tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así en la tierra.
11Danos hoy pan para nuestras necesidades.
12Y perdona nuestras deudas, como hemos perdonado a aquellos que están en deuda con nosotros.
13Y no seamos puesto a prueba sino líbranos del mal; porque tuyo es el reino, y él poder y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amen.
14Porque si perdonan a los hombres sus ofensas, tendrán el perdón de su Padre que está en los cielos.
15Pero si no perdonan a los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco su Padre les perdonará sus ofensas.
16Y cuando ayunen, no estén con cara triste como los hipócritas. Porque van con aspecto triste, para que los hombres vean que están ayunando. De cierto les digo que ellos tienen ya su recompensa.
17Pero cuando ayunen, pon aceite en tu cabeza y limpia tu rostro;
18Para que nadie note que estás ayunando, sino tu Padre en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en secreto, te dará tu recompensa.
19No acumulen riqueza en la tierra, donde los gusanos y el clima pueden convertirla en polvo, y donde los ladrones pueden entrar por la fuerza y llevársela.
20Más bien hagan tesoros para ustedes en el cielo, donde no será convertida en polvo y donde los ladrones no entran para llevarsela:
21Porque donde están tus riquezas, allí estará también tu corazón.
22La luz del cuerpo es el ojo; si entonces tu ojo es bueno, todo tu cuerpo estará lleno de luz.
23Pero si tu ojo es malo, todo tu cuerpo estará oscuro. Si entonces la luz que está en ti es oscuridad, ¡qué negra será la oscuridad misma!
24Nadie puede ser siervo de dos señores: porque tendrá odio por uno y amor por el otro, o se quedará con uno y no tendrá respeto por el otro. No se puede servir a Dios y a las riquezas.
25Así que les digo: no piensen en su vida, en la comida o bebida, o en la ropa para su cuerpo. ¿No es la vida más que la comida, y el cuerpo más que su ropa?
26Mira las aves del cielo; no ponen semillas en la tierra, no reciben grano, ni lo ponen en almacenes; y su Padre que está en el cielo les da de comer. ¿No tienes mucho más valor que ellos?
27¿Y quién de ustedes, pensando, puede hacerse un codo más alto?
28¿Y por qué estás preocupado por la ropa? Mira las flores del campo, cómo crecen; no hacen ningún trabajo, no hacen ningún hilo.
29Pero yo os digo que incluso Salomón en toda su gloria no fue vestido como una de ellas.
30Pero si Dios da tal ropa a la hierba del campo, que está aquí hoy y mañana es puesta en el horno, ¿no hará mucho más, hombres de poca fe?
31Entonces no se preocupen, diciendo: ¿Qué vamos a tener para comer o beber? ¿con qué podemos vestirnos?
32Porque los gentiles van en busca de todas estas cosas; pero su Padre que está en los cielos sabe que tienen necesidad de todas estas cosas;
33Pero tu primero busca el reino de Dios y su justicia; y todas estas otras cosas se te darán por añadidura.
34Entonces no se preocupen por el mañana: el dia de mañana traerá su preocupación. Tómate un dia a la vez, preocupate de ese día cuando llegue.

1MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
2Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
3Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
4Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
5Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
6Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
7Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
8No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
9Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
10Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
11Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.
12Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.
13Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.
14Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.
15Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
16Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
17Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
18Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
19No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;
20Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
21Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
22La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
23Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
24Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
25Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
26Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
27Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
28Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
29Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.
30Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
31No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
32Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
33Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
34Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.

1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
5“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
8Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
9Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
