1Ficai atentos para que não façais vossa esmola diante das pessoas a fim de que sejais vistos por elas; de outra maneira não tereis recompensa de vosso Pai que está nos céus.
2Portanto, quando fizeres esmola, não faças tocar trombeta diante de ti, como fazem os hipócritas nas sinagogas e nas ruas, para serem honrados pelas pessoas; em verdade vos digo que já receberam sua recompensa.
3Mas quando tu fizeres esmola, não saiba tua mão esquerda o que faz a tua direita;
4Para que a tua esmola seja em segredo, e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará em público.
5E quando orares, não sejas como os hipócritas; porque eles amam orar em pé nas sinagogas e nas esquinas das ruas para serem vistos pelas pessoas. Em verdade vos digo que já receberam sua recompensa.
6Porém tu, quando orares, entra em teu quarto, fecha tua porta, e ora a teu Pai, que está em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará em público.
7E quando orardes, não façais repetições inúteis como os gentios, que pensam que por muito falarem serão ouvidos.
8Não sejais, pois, semelhantes a eles; porque vosso Pai sabe o que necessitais, antes que vós peçais a ele.
9Vós, portanto, orareis assim: Pai nosso, que estás nos céus, santificado seja o teu nome.
10Venha o teu Reino. Seja feita a tua vontade, tanto na terra, assim como no céu.
11O pão nosso de cada dia nos dá hoje.
12E perdoa-nos nossas dívidas, assim como nós também perdoamos aos nossos devedores.
13E não nos conduzas à tentação, mas livra-nos do mal; porque teu é o Reino, o poder, e a glória, para sempre, Amém.
14Porque se perdoardes às pessoas suas ofensas, vosso Pai celestial também vos perdoará;
15Mas se não perdoardes às pessoas suas ofensas, também vosso Pai não vos perdoará vossas ofensas.
16E quando jejuardes, não vos mostreis tristonhos, como os hipócritas; porque eles desfiguram seus rostos, para parecerem aos outros que jejuam. Em verdade vos digo que eles já receberam sua recompensa.
17Porém tu, quando jejuares, unge a tua cabeça e lava o teu rosto,
18Para não pareceres às pessoas que jejuas, mas sim ao teu Pai, que está em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará em público.
19Não ajunteis para vós tesouros na terra, onde e a traça e a ferrugem gastam, e onde os ladrões invadem e roubam;
20Mas ajuntai para vós tesouros no céu, onde nem a traça nem a ferrugem gastam, e onde os ladrões não invadem nem roubam.
21Porque onde estiver o vosso tesouro, ali estará também o vosso coração.
22A lâmpada do corpo é o olho; portanto, se o teu olho for puro, todo o teu corpo será cheio de luz.
23Porém se o teu olho for maligno, todo o teu corpo será cheio de trevas. Assim, se a luz que há em ti são trevas, como são grandes essas trevas!
24Ninguém pode servir a dois senhores; pois ou odiará um e amará outro; ou se apegará a um, e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e às riquezas.
25Por isso vos digo: não andeis ansiosos por vossa vida, sobre o que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber; nem por vosso corpo, sobre com que vos haveis de vestir. Não é a vida mais que o alimento, e o corpo mais que a roupa?
26Olhai para as aves do céu, que não semeiam, nem ceifam, nem ajuntam em celeiros; e contudo vosso Pai celestial as alimenta. Não sois vós muito mais importantes que elas?
27E qual de vós poderá, por sua ansiedade, acrescentar um côvado à sua estatura?
28E por que andais ansiosos pela roupa? Prestai atenção aos lírios do campo, como crescem; eles nem trabalham nem fiam.
29Mas eu vos digo que nem mesmo Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como um deles.
30Se Deus veste desta maneira a erva do campo, que hoje existe, e amanhã é lançada no forno, não vestirá ele muito mais a vós, que tendes pouca fé?
31Não andeis, pois, ansiosos, dizendo: “Que comeremos?” Ou “Que beberemos?” Ou “Com que nos vestiremos?”
32Porque os gentios buscam todas estas coisas, e vosso Pai celestial sabe que necessitais destas coisas, todas elas.
33Mas buscai primeiramente o Reino de Deus e a sua justiça, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
34Não andeis, pois, ansiosos pelo dia de amanhã, porque o amanhã cuidará de si mesmo. Basta a cada dia o seu mal.

1MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
2Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
3Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
4Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
5Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
6Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
7Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
8No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
9Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
10Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
11Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.
12Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.
13Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.
14Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.
15Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
16Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
17Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
18Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
19No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;
20Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
21Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
22La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
23Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
24Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
25Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
26Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
27Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
28Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
29Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.
30Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
31No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
32Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
33Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
34Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.

1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
5“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
8Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
9Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’

21for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

23But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
