Und wenn ihr betet, sollt ihr nicht viel plappern wie die Heiden; denn sie meinen, sie werden erhöret, wenn sie viel Worte machen.

MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Darum sollt ihr euch ihnen nicht gleichen. Euer Vater weiß, was ihr bedürfet, ehe denn ihr ihn bittet.

Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Darum sollt ihr also beten: Unser Vater in dem Himmel! Dein Name werde geheiliget.

Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,

Dein Reich komme. Dein Wille geschehe auf Erden wie im Himmel.

Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Unser täglich Brot gib uns heute.

Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.

Und vergib uns unsere Schulden, wie wir unsern Schuldigern vergeben.

Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Und führe uns nicht in Versuchung, sondern erlöse uns von dem Übel. Denn dein ist das Reich und die Kraft und die HERRLIchkeit in Ewigkeit. Amen.

Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.

Denn so ihr den Menschen ihre Fehle vergebet, so wird euch euer himmlischer Vater auch vergeben.

No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.

Wo ihr aber den Menschen ihre Fehle nicht vergebet, so wird euch euer Vater eure Fehle auch nicht vergeben.

Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

Wenn ihr fastet, sollt' ihr nicht sauer sehen wie die Heuchler; denn sie verstellen ihre Angesichte, auf daß sie vor den Leuten scheinen mit ihrem Fasten. Wahrlich, ich sage euch, sie haben ihren Lohn dahin.

Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Wenn du aber fastest, so salbe dein Haupt und wasche dein Angesicht,

Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.

auf daß du nicht scheinest vor den Leuten mit deinem Fasten, sondern vor deinem Vater, welcher verborgen ist; und dein Vater, der in das Verborgene siehet, wird dir's Vergelten öffentlich.

Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.

Ihr sollt euch nicht Schätze sammeln auf Erden, da sie die Motten und der Rost fressen, und da die Diebe nach graben und stehlen.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Sammelt euch aber Schätze im Himmel, da sie weder Motten noch Rost fressen, und da die Diebe nicht nach graben noch stehlen.

Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Denn wo euer Schatz ist, da ist auch euer Herz.

Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Das Auge ist des Leibes Licht. Wenn dein Auge einfältig ist, so wird dein ganzer Leib licht sein.

Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.

Wenn aber dein Auge ein Schalk ist, so wird dein ganzer Leib finster sein. Wenn aber das Licht, das in dir ist, Finsternis ist, wie groß wird dann die Finsternis selber sein!

Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;

But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

Niemand kann zweien HERREN dienen. Entweder er wird einen hassen und den andern lieben, oder wird einem anhangen und den andern verachten. Ihr könnt nicht Gott dienen und dem Mammon.

Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.

That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

Darum sage ich euch: Sorget nicht für euer Leben, was ihr essen und trinken werdet, auch nicht für euren Leib, was ihr anziehen werdet. Ist nicht das Leben mehr denn die Speise und der Leib mehr denn die Kleidung?

No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

“Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;

Sehet die Vögel unter dem Himmel an: sie säen nicht, sie ernten nicht, sie sammeln nicht in die Scheunen; und euer himmlischer Vater nähret sie doch. Seid ihr denn nicht viel mehr denn sie?

Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;

Wer ist unter euch, der seiner Länge eine Elle zusetzen möge, ob er gleich darum sorget?

Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Und warum sorget ihr für die Kleidung? Schauet die Lilien auf dem Felde, wie sie wachsen! Sie arbeiten nicht, auch spinnen sie nicht.

La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.

Ich sage euch, daß auch Salomo in aller seiner HERRLIchkeit nicht bekleidet gewesen ist als derselbigen eins.

Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

So denn Gott das Gras auf dem Felde also kleidet, das doch heute stehet und morgen in den Ofen geworfen wird, sollt' er das nicht viel mehr euch tun, o ihr Kleingläubigen?

Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.

Darum sollt ihr nicht sorgen und sagen: Was werden wir essen, was werden wir trinken, womit werden wir uns kleiden?

Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Nach solchem allem trachten die Heiden. Denn euer himmlischer Vater weiß, daß ihr des alles bedürfet.

Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?

Trachtet am ersten nach dem Reich Gottes und nach seiner Gerechtigkeit, so wird euch solches alles zufallen.

Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

“Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?

Darum sorget nicht für den andern Morgen; denn der morgende Tag wird für das Seine sorgen. Es ist genug, daß ein jeglicher Tag seine eigene Plage habe.

Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,

Richtet nicht, auf daß ihr nicht gerichtet werdet!

Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Denn mit welcherlei Gerichte ihr richtet, werdet ihr gerichtet werden, und mit welcherlei Maß ihr messet, wird euch gemessen werden.

Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?

Was siehest du aber den Splitter in deines Bruders Auge und wirst nicht gewahr des Balkens in deinem Auge?

No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’

Oder wie darfst du sagen zu deinem Bruder: Halt, ich will dir den Splitter aus deinem Auge ziehen! und siehe, ein Balken ist in deinem Auge?

Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Du Heuchler, zieh am ersten den Balken aus deinem Auge; danach besiehe, wie du den Splitter aus deines Bruders Auge ziehest!

Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

Ihr sollt das Heiligtum nicht den Hunden geben und eure Perlen sollt ihr nicht vor die Säue werfen, auf daß sie dieselbigen nicht zertreten mit ihren Füßen und sich wenden und euch zerreißen.

Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
