“Cuidado! Não pratiquem suas boas obras publicamente, para serem admirados, porque assim vocês não receberão nenhuma recompensa do seu Pai celestial.
MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
“Quando derem esmola, não fiquem contando a todo mundo a respeito disso, como fazem os hipócritas — tocando trombetas nas sinagogas e nas ruas, chamando atenção para os seus atos de caridade! Verdadeiramente eu digo: Eles já receberam toda a sua recompensa.
Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mas quando vocês fizerem um favor a alguém, façam-no secretamente — não contem à sua mão esquerda aquilo que a sua mão direita está fazendo.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
Prestem a sua ajuda em segredo, e o seu Pai, que conhece todos os segredos, recompensará vocês.
Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
“Quando orarem, não sejam como os hipócritas, que oram publicamente nas esquinas das ruas e nas sinagogas, para todo mundo ver. Verdadeiramente, essa é toda a recompensa que eles receberão.
Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mas você, quando orar, vá para o seu quarto, feche a porta atrás de você, e ore ao seu Pai que está em secreto; e seu Pai, que conhece os seus segredos, recompensará você.
Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

“Não fiquem recitando sempre a mesma oração, como fazem os pagãos, que pensam que as orações repetitivas é que são eficientes.
Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
Não sejam iguais a eles. Lembrem-se: seu Pai sabe exatamente o que vocês precisam, até mesmo antes que vocês peçam a ele!
No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
Orem desta maneira: “ ‘Nosso Pai do céu, seja santificado o seu nome.
Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
Venha o seu reino. Que a sua vontade seja feita aqui na terra, como é feita no céu.
Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Dê-nos hoje, novamente, o nosso alimento.
Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.

“Seu Pai celeste perdoará a vocês se vocês perdoarem àqueles que pecaram contra vocês;
Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

mas se vocês se recusarem a perdoá-los, o Pai celestial também não perdoará a vocês.
Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

“Quando jejuarem, não façam isso publicamente como os hipócritas, que procuram parecer abatidos e desarrumados para serem notados pelos outros! Verdadeiramente, essa é a única recompensa que eles terão.
Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
“Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
Mas, quando você estiver jejuando, lave o rosto e penteie o cabelo,
Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
de tal maneira que ninguém perceba que você está em jejum, e sim apenas o seu Pai que conhece todos os segredos. E ele recompensará você.
Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
“Não se preocupem em acumular riquezas aqui na terra, onde a traça e a ferrugem destroem, e onde os ladrões arrombam e roubam.
No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
“Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
Guardem, sim, tesouros preciosos no céu, onde a traça e a ferrugem não destroem, e onde os ladrões não arrombam nem roubam!
Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Pois onde estiverem as suas riquezas, lá estará também o seu coração.
Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

“Os olhos são como uma luz para o corpo. Se os seus olhos forem bons, haverá luz em todo o seu corpo.
La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
Mas se os seus olhos forem maus, seu corpo estará em profunda escuridão espiritual. E como essa escuridão pode ser terrível!
Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
“Vocês não podem servir a dois patrões. Porque vocês odiarão um e amarão o outro, ou serão fiéis a um e desprezarão o outro. Vocês não podem servir a Deus e ao dinheiro.
Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
“Portanto, minha palavra é a seguinte: Não fiquem preocupados a respeito de coisas: com a própria vida, quanto ao que comer ou beber, nem com seu próprio corpo, quanto ao que vestir. Não é a vida mais importante que a comida, e o corpo mais importante que a roupa?
Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Olhem os passarinhos do céu! Eles não se preocupam com a comida; eles não precisam semear, nem colher, ou guardar a comida em depósitos, pois o Pai celeste os alimenta. Será que vocês não valem muito mais do que os passarinhos?
Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
Será que com todas as preocupações juntas poderão acrescentar um único momento à vida de vocês?
Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
“Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
“E por que ficar preocupado com a roupa? Olhem os lírios do campo! Eles não trabalham nem tecem.
Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
No entanto, nem o rei Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como qualquer um deles.

Se Deus cuida tão maravilhosamente das flores, que hoje estão aqui e amanhã já desaparecem, será que ele não vai, com toda a certeza, cuidar de vocês, gente de pequena fé?
Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
“Portanto não se preocupem de forma alguma com a necessidade de comida ou bebida ou com a roupa.
No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
Não sejam como os pagãos! Pois eles é que têm intenso interesse nessas coisas. Mas o Pai celeste sabe muito bem que vocês precisam delas.
Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Coloquem, pois, em primeiro lugar o Reino de Deus e a sua justiça, e ele dará a vocês todas essas coisas.
Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
“Portanto, não fiquem preocupados com o dia de amanhã. Deus cuidará do dia de amanhã para vocês também. Já é suficiente a carga de cada dia.
Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
