Oigan lo que el Señor dice a su pueblo: «¡Levántate y presenta tu caso de manera tan poderosa que se escuche por todo el mundo! ¡Habla de forma que hasta en las colinas más alejadas escuchen tu queja!».
OID ahora lo que dice Jehová: Levántate, pleitea con los montes, y oigan los collados tu voz.
Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
Listen now to what the LORD says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.
Y ahora, escuchen ustedes, montañas y todo el universo, que el Señor va a presentar una queja, pues tiene un gran pleito contra su pueblo Israel.
Oid, montes, y fuertes fundamentos de la tierra, el pleito de Jehová: porque tiene Jehová pleito con su pueblo, y altercará con Israel.
Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
Hear, you mountains, the LORD’s indictment, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for the LORD has a case against his people, and he will contend with Israel.
El Señor dice: «Pueblo mío, ¿qué te he hecho para que reniegues de mí de ese modo? ¿En qué te he ofendido? ¡Respóndeme!
Pueblo mío, ¿qué te he hecho, ó en qué te he molestado? Responde contra mí.
O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me!
Acuérdate que yo te libré de Egipto rompiendo las cadenas de tu esclavitud. Envié a Moisés, a Aarón y a Miriam para que te guiaran.
Porque yo te hice subir de la tierra de Egipto, y de la casa de siervos te redimí; y envié delante de ti á Moisés, y á Aarón, y á María.
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

Pueblo mío, ¿no te acuerdas que cuando Balac, rey de Moab, trató de destruirte por medio de las maldiciones de Balán, hijo de Beor, y que yo, en lugar de ello, hice que este profeta te bendijera y te expresara un gran futuro? Bien sabes que te he mostrado mi misericordia múltiples veces. ¿Es que acaso no recuerdas cómo dividí el torrente del río Jordán para que pasaras en seco de la orilla de Sitín a la de Guilgal? ¡Recuerda las obras extraordinarias que he hecho siempre en tu favor!».
Pueblo mío, acuérdate ahora qué aconsejó Balac rey de Moab, y qué le respondió Balaam, hijo de Beor, desde Sittim hasta Gilgal, para que conozcas las justicias de Jehová.
O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

«¿Cómo podemos compensar todo el mal que hemos hecho?», preguntan. «¿Nos presentaremos ante el Señor con ofrendas rituales muy valiosas, como por ejemplo becerros de un año?
¿Con qué prevendré á Jehová, y adoraré al alto Dios? ¿vendré ante él con holocaustos, con becerros de un año?
Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
How shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
¿Se sentirá satisfecho si le ofrecemos como ofrenda mil carneros o diez mil litros de aceite? ¿O tendremos que ofrecerle en sacrificio al mayor de nuestros hijos para que nos perdone por nuestros pecados?».
¿Agradaráse Jehová de millares de carneros, ó de diez mil arroyos de aceite? ¿daré mi primogénito por mi rebelión, el fruto de mi vientre por el pecado de mi alma?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
¡Pueblo de Dios! Ya el Señor les ha dicho qué es lo que él espera que ustedes hagan. Ya él les ha enseñado lo que es bueno y espera que ustedes hagan. Lo que el Señor les pide es que practiquen la justicia, que sean misericordiosos y que vivan siguiendo fielmente sus instrucciones.
Oh hombre, él te ha declarado qué sea lo bueno, y qué pida de ti Jehová: solamente hacer juicio, y amar misericordia, y humillarte para andar con tu Dios.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
La voz del Señor se ha escuchado. Él está convocando a una reunión a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén. Así que escuchen su voz, pues es de sabios prestar atención a las palabras del Señor.
La voz de Jehová clama á la ciudad, y el sabio mirará á tu nombre. Oid la vara, y á quien la establece.
The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
The LORD’s voice calls to the city— and wisdom fears your name— “Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.
Esto es lo que el Señor dice: «¿Acaso creen que voy a dejar sin castigo a esos malvados que han conseguido sus riquezas por medio del robo? ¿Creen que voy a tolerar que tengan pesas falseadas?
¿Hay aún en casa del impío tesoros de impiedad, y medida escasa que es detestable?
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?

¿Diré yo a tus comerciantes que todo está bien y que no hay problema en que tengan balanzas falseadas y medidas adulteradas? ¿Cómo podría ser Dios justo y considerarlos a ustedes como si fueran inocentes?
¿Seré limpio con peso falso, y con bolsa de engañosas pesas?
Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
Shall I tolerate dishonest scales, and a bag of deceitful weights?
Tus ricos han conseguido sus riquezas por medio de la extorsión y la violencia; tus ciudadanos están tan acostumbrados a la mentira que no saben decir la verdad.
Con lo cual sus ricos se hinchieron de rapiña, y sus moradores hablaron mentira, y su lengua engañosa en su boca.
For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

»Por eso, ya he comenzado a castigarlos. Ya he comenzado a destruirlos por causa de sus actos malvados. Por eso ahora están tan debilitados.
Por eso yo también te enflaqueceré hiriéndote, asolándote por tus pecados.
Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.
Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins.
Comerás, pero no te sentirás satisfecho. Sentirás siempre los retortijones del hambre como si siempre anduvieras con el estómago vacío. Aunque te empeñes en ahorrar, no lo conseguirás; y si algo logras guardar, haré que lo pierdas en la guerra.
Tú comerás, y no te hartarás; y tu abatimiento será en medio de ti: tú cogerás, mas no salvarás; y lo que salvares, lo entregaré yo á la espada.
Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your hunger will be within you. You will store up, but not save, and that which you save I will give up to the sword.
Plantarás, pero no disfrutarás de tus cosechas; exprimirás las aceitunas, pero no podrás usar su aceite. Pisarás las uvas, pero no beberás su vino.
Tú sembrarás, mas no segarás: pisarás aceitunas, mas no te ungirás con el aceite; y mosto, mas no beberás el vino.
Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.
You will sow, but won’t reap. You will tread the olives, but won’t anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won’t drink the wine.
»¡Pero bien que fuiste muy fiel obedeciendo los perversos mandamientos del malvado rey Omrí! El único ejemplo que sigues es el del igualmente malvado Acab. Por eso te destruiré, te haré el hazmerreír del mundo; todo el que te vea se burlará de ti».
Porque los mandamientos de Omri se han guardado, y toda obra de la casa de Achâb; y en los consejos de ellos anduvisteis, para que yo te diese en asolamiento, y tus moradores para ser silbados. Llevaréis por tanto el oprobio de mi pueblo.
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
