1Ai de mim! Porque sou como quando os frutos do verão são colhidos, como quando são tiradas as sobras das uvas da vindima, de modo que não resta cacho de uvas para comer; minha alma deseja frutos.
2Já pereceu o misericordioso da terra, e não há quem seja justo entre os seres humanos; todos armam ciladas em busca de sangue; cada um arma rede de caça a seu irmão.
3Suas mãos são habilidosas em fazer o mal; o príncipe dá ordens e o juiz julga por propina; e o grande fala o mau desejo de sua alma, e colaboram com ele.
4O melhor dentre eles é como o espinho; o mais justo é como o espinheiro. O dia de teus vigilantes, teu castigo, vem; agora será sua confusão.
5Não creiais em amigo, nem confieis em príncipe; guardas as portas de tua boca daquela que dorme ao teu lado.
6Porque o filho despreza o pai, a filha se levanta contra sua mãe, a nora contra sua sogra; e os inimigos do homem são os de sua própria casa.
7Eu, porém, observarei ao SENHOR, esperarei ao Deus de minha salvação; meu Deus me ouvirá.
8Ó minha inimiga, não te alegres de mim; pois ainda que tenha caído, eu me levantarei; ainda que eu esteja assentado em trevas, o SENHOR será minha luz.
9Suportarei a ira do SENHOR, porque pequei contra ele; suportarei até que ele julgue minha causa e execute meu direito; ele me trará para a luz; eu verei sua justiça.
10E minha inimiga verá isso ,e a vergonha a cobrirá; ela que me dizia: Onde está o SENHOR teu Deus? Meus olhos a verão; agora ela será pisada como a lama das ruas.
11No dia em que teus muros forem reconstruídos, naquele dia as fronteiras se ampliarão para longe.
12Naquele dia virão a ti da Assíria até as cidades fortes, das cidades fortes até o rio, e de mar a mar, e de monte a monte.
13Porém esta terra será desolada por causa de seus moradores, por causa do fruto de suas obras.
14Apascenta teu povo com teu cajado, o rebanho de tua herança, que mora só no bosque, no meio do campo fértil; que se alimentem em Basã e Gileade, como nos dias antigos.
15Eu lhes farei ver maravilhas, como nos dias em que saíste da terra do Egito.
16As nações verão, e se envergonharão de todo o seu poder; porão a mão sobre a boca, ensurdecerão seus ouvidos.
17Lamberão o pó como a serpente; como os répteis da terra sairão tremendo de seus esconderijos; eles ficarão apavorados com o SENHOR nosso Deus, e temerão a ti.
18Quem é Deus como tu, que perdoa a maldade, e ignora a transgressão do restante de sua herança? Ele não retém para sempre sua ira, porque ele tem prazer na bondade.
19Ele voltará a ter misericórdia de nós; ele esmagará nossas maldades. Tu lançarás os pecados deles nas profundezas do mar.
20Tu concederás a Jacó a fidelidade, e a Abraão a bondade, que juraste a nossos pais desde os dias antigos.

1¡AY de mí! que he venido á ser como cuando han cogido los frutos del verano, como cuando han rebuscado después de la vendimia, que no queda racimo para comer; mi alma deseó primeros frutos.
2Faltó el misericordioso de la tierra, y ninguno hay recto entre los hombres: todos acechan á la sangre; cada cual arma red á su hermano.
3Para completar la maldad con sus manos, el príncipe demanda, y el juez juzga por recompensa; y el grande habla el antojo de su alma, y lo confirman.
4El mejor de ellos es como el cambrón; el más recto, como zarzal: el día de tus atalayas, tu visitación, viene; ahora será su confusión.
5No creáis en amigo, ni confiéis en príncipe: de la que duerme á tu lado, guarda, no abras tu boca.
6Porque el hijo deshonra al padre, la hija se levanta contra la madre, la nuera contra su suegra: y los enemigos del hombre son los de su casa.
7Yo empero á Jehová esperaré, esperaré al Dios de mi salud: el Dios mío me oirá.
8Tú, enemiga mía, no te huelgues de mí: porque aunque caí, he de levantarme; aunque more en tinieblas, Jehová será mi luz.
9La ira de Jehová soportaré, porque pequé contra él, hasta que juzgue mi causa y haga mi juicio; él me sacará á luz; veré su justicia.
10Y mi enemiga verá, y la cubrirá vergüenza: la que me decía: ¿Dónde está Jehová tu Dios? Mis ojos la verán; ahora será hollada como lodo de las calles.
11El día en que se edificarán tus muros, aquel día será alejado el mandamiento.
12En ese día vendrán hasta ti desde Asiria y las ciudades fuertes, y desde las ciudades fuertes hasta el Río, y de mar á mar, y de monte á monte.
13Y la tierra con sus moradores será asolada por el fruto de sus obras.
14Apacienta tu pueblo con tu cayado, el rebaño de tu heredad, que mora solo en la montaña, en medio del Carmelo: pazcan en Basán y Galaad, como en el tiempo pasado.
15Yo les mostraré maravillas como el día que saliste de Egipto.
16Las gentes verán, y se avergonzarán de todas sus valentías; pondrán la mano sobre su boca, ensordecerán sus oídos.
17Lamerán el polvo como la culebra; como las serpientes de la tierra, temblarán en sus encierros: despavorirse han de Jehová nuestro Dios, y temerán de ti.
18¿Qué Dios como tú, que perdonas la maldad, y olvidas el pecado del resto de su heredad? No retuvo para siempre su enojo, porque es amador de misericordia.
19El tornará, él tendrá misericordia de nosotros; él sujetará nuestras iniquidades, y echará en los profundos de la mar todos nuestros pecados.
20Otorgarás á Jacob la verdad, y á Abraham la misericordia, que tú juraste á nuestros padres desde tiempos antiguos.

1Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
2The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
4The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
5Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
6For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
9I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
10Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
11In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.
12In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
13Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.
16The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
18Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
19He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
World English Bible
1Misery is mine! Indeed, I am like one who gathers the summer fruits, as gleanings of the vineyard. There is no cluster of grapes to eat. My soul desires to eat the early fig.
2The godly man has perished out of the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.
3Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe. The powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul. Thus they conspire together.
4The best of them is like a brier. The most upright is worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, even your visitation, has come; now is the time of their confusion.
5Don’t trust in a neighbor. Don’t put confidence in a friend. With the woman lying in your embrace, be careful of the words of your mouth!
6For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7But as for me, I will look to the LORD. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
8Don’t rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
9I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my case and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light. I will see his righteousness.
10Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will see her. Now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets.
11A day to build your walls! In that day, he will extend your boundary.
12In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea, and mountain to mountain.
13Yet the land will be desolate because of those who dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest. Let them feed in the middle of fertile pasture land, in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15“As in the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt, I will show them marvelous things.”
16The nations will see and be ashamed of all their might. They will lay their hand on their mouth. Their ears will be deaf.
17They will lick the dust like a serpent. Like crawling things of the earth, they will come trembling out of their dens. They will come with fear to the LORD our God, and will be afraid because of you.
18Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.
19He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.
