1Y él se levantó y se fue a la región de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán; y gran número de gente volvió a unirse a él; y, como era su costumbre, les dio enseñanza.
2Y llegaron a él los fariseos, y lo tentaron con la pregunta: ¿es correcto que un hombre divorcie a su esposa?
3Y les dijo a ellos en respuesta: ¿Qué dijo Moisés que debían hacer?
4Y ellos le dijeron: Moisés permitió al hombre escribir un certificado de divorcio, y liberarse de ella.
5Pero Jesús les dijo: A causa de sus corazones endurecidos, él les dio esta ley.
6Pero desde el principio, varón y hembra los hizo.
7Por esta causa, ¿se apartará un hombre de su padre y de su madre, y se unirá a su mujer?
8Y los dos se convertirán en una sola carne; para que ya no sean dos, sino una sola carne.
9No separe el hombre lo que se ha unido por Dios.
10Y en la casa, los discípulos le volvieron a preguntar sobre esto.
11Y les dijo: Cualquiera que repudia a su mujer y toma a otra, comete adulterio en contra de su esposa;
12Y si ella misma repudia a su marido y toma a otro, ella comete adulterio contra su marido.
13Y tomaron para él niños pequeños, para que él pusiera sus manos sobre ellos; y los discípulos reprendieron a los que los presentaban.
14Cuando Jesús lo vio, se enojó y les dijo: Dejen que los niños vengan a mí y no se los impidan; porque de tal es el reino de Dios.
15De cierto les digo, que cualquiera que no se someta al reino de Dios como un niño pequeño, no entrará en él en absoluto.
16Y él los tomó en sus brazos, y les dio una bendición, poniendo sus manos sobre ellos.
17Y mientras él estaba saliendo por el camino, un hombre corrió hacia él y se arrodilló, diciendo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué tengo que hacer para tener vida eterna?
18Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué dices que soy bueno? nadie es bueno sino uno, y ese es Dios.
19Tú tienes conocimiento de lo que se dice en la ley: No mates a nadie, No adulteres, No tomes lo que no es tuyo, No des falso testimonio, No defraudes, Da honor a tu padre y a tu madre.
20Y él le dijo: Maestro, todas estas leyes que he guardado desde la juventud.
21Y Jesús, mirándolo y amándolo, dijo: Una cosa se necesita: ve, toma dinero y tus bienes, y dáselo a los pobres, y tendrás riquezas en el cielo; y ven conmigo.
22Pero su rostro se entristeció al decirlo, y él se fue triste, porque era uno que tenía muchas propiedades.
23Y Jesús, mirando alrededor, dijo a sus discípulos: ¡Cuán difícil es para los que tienen riquezas entrar en el reino de Dios!
24Y los discípulos estaban maravillados de sus palabras. Pero Jesús les dijo otra vez, Hijos, ¡qué difícil es para los que ponen fe en la riqueza entrar en el reino de Dios!
25Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que un hombre rico entre en el reino de Dios.
26Y se sorprendieron grandemente, y le dijeron: ¿Quién pues, podrá ser salvo?
27Jesús, mirándolos, dijo: Para los hombres es imposible, pero no para Dios; porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.
28Pedro le dijo: Mira, hemos abandonado todo y te seguimos.
29Jesús dijo: De cierto te digo, que no hay hombre que haya dejado la casa, ni hermanos, ni hermanas, ni madre, ni padre, ni hijos, ni tierra, por causa de mí y por las buenas nuevas,
30Que no reciba cien veces más ahora en estos tiempos: casas, hermanos, hermanas, madres, hijos y tierra, aunque con grandes problemas; y, en el mundo venidero, vida eterna.
31Pero un gran número de los primeros serán los últimos: y los últimos serán los primeros.
32Y ellos estaban en el camino, subiendo a Jerusalén; y Jesús iba delante de ellos; y estaban maravillados; pero le seguían con miedo. Y otra vez tomó a los doce, y les dio aviso de las cosas que habían de venir sobre él,
33Diciendo: Mira, vamos a Jerusalén; y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas; y darán orden de su muerte, y lo entregarán a los gentiles;
34Y se burlaran de él, y le avergonzarán, y le azotarán, y le matarán; y después de tres días resucitará.
35Y vinieron a él Jacobo y Juan, los hijos de Zebedeo, diciéndole: Maestro, ¿nos darás lo que te pidamos?
36Y él les dijo: ¿Qué quieren que haga por ustedes?
37Y le dijeron: Déjanos estar sentados, uno a tu derecha y otro a tu izquierda, en tu gloria.
38Pero Jesús les dijo: No saben lo que están pidiendo. ¿Eres capaz de beber de la copa que yo bebo? o para someterse al bautismo al que debo someterme?
39Y ellos le dijeron: Nosotros podemos. Y Jesús les dijo:a la verdad beberás de la copa que yo estoy bebiendo; y con el bautismo que voy a ser bautizado serán bautizados:
40Pero sentarse a mi diestra o a mi izquierda no es mío darlo; sino a aquellos para quienes ha sido preparado.
41Al oír esto, los diez se enojaron mucho con Jacobo y Juan.
42Y Jesús los hizo venir a él, y les dijo:Ustedes ven que los que son gobernados de los gentiles son señores sobre ellos, y sus grandes tienen autoridad sobre ellos.
43Pero entre ustedes no es así; pero cualquiera que desee hacerse grande entre ustedes, que sea su servidor.
44Y el que quiera ser el primero entre ustedes, sea siervo de todos.
45Porque verdaderamente el Hijo del hombre no vino a tener siervos, sino a ser siervo, y a dar su vida por la salvación de los hombres.
46Y vinieron a Jericó; y cuando él salía de Jericó, con sus discípulos y un gran número de personas, el hijo de Timeo, Bartimeo, un ciego, estaba sentado junto al camino, con la mano extendida pidiendo limosna.
47Y cuando llegó a sus oídos que era Jesús de Nazaret, dio un grito, y dijo: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
48Y algunos de ellos, volviéndose en señal de protesta, le ordenaron que guardara silencio, pero siguió gritando aún más, Hijo de David, ten piedad de mí.
49Y Jesús se detuvo y dijo: Déjalo venir. Y clamando al ciego, le dijeron: levántate, confía; él ha enviado por ti.
50Y él, quitándose su manto, se levantó rápidamente, y vino a Jesús.
51Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y el ciego dijo: Maestro, que recobre la vista.
52Y Jesús le dijo: Sigue tu camino; tu fe te ha hecho bien. Y enseguida recobró la vista y fue tras él en el camino.

1Y PARTIÉNDOSE de allí, vino á los términos de Judea y tras el Jordán: y volvió el pueblo á juntarse á él; y de nuevo les enseñaba como solía.
2Y llegándose los Fariseos, le preguntaron, para tentarle, si era lícito al marido repudiar á su mujer.
3Mas él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés?
4Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió escribir carta de divorcio, y repudiar.
5Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento;
6Pero al principio de la creación, varón y hembra los hizo Dios.
7Por esto dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y se juntará á su mujer.
8Y los que eran dos, serán hechos una carne: así que no son más dos, sino una carne.
9Pues lo que Dios juntó, no lo aparte el hombre.
10Y en casa volvieron los discípulos á preguntarle de lo mismo.
11Y les dice: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, y se casare con otra, comete adulterio contra ella:
12Y si la mujer repudiare á su marido y se casare con otro, comete adulterio.
13Y le presentaban niños para que los tocase; y los discípulos reñían á los que los presentaban.
14Y viéndolo Jesús, se enojó, y les dijo: Dejad los niños venir, y no se lo estorbéis; porque de los tales es el reino de Dios.
15De cierto os digo, que el que no recibiere el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.
16Y tomándolos en los brazos, poniendo las manos sobre ellos, los bendecía.
17Y saliendo él para ir su camino, vino uno corriendo, é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le preguntó: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para poseer la vida eterna?
18Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno hay bueno, sino sólo uno, Dios.
19Los mandamientos sabes: No adulteres: No mates: No hurtes: No digas falso testimonio: No defraudes: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
20El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Maestro, todo esto he guardado desde mi mocedad.
21Entonces Jesús mirándole, amóle, y díjole: Una cosa te falta: ve, vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme, tomando tu cruz.
22Mas él, entristecido por esta palabra, se fué triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.
23Entonces Jesús, mirando alrededor, dice á sus discípulos: ¡Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
24Y los discípulos se espantaron de sus palabras; mas Jesús respondiendo, les volvió á decir: ¡Hijos, cuán difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios, los que confían en las riquezas!
25Más fácil es pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que el rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
26Y ellos se espantaban más, diciendo dentro de sí: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse?
27Entonces Jesús mirándolos, dice: Para los hombres es imposible; mas para Dios, no; porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.
28Entonces Pedro comenzó á decirle: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado todas las cosas, y te hemos seguido.
29Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay ninguno que haya dejado casa, ó hermanos, ó hermanas, ó padre, ó madre, ó mujer, ó hijos, ó heredades, por causa de mí y del evangelio,
30Que no reciba cien tantos ahora en este tiempo, casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, é hijos, y heredades, con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.
31Empero muchos primeros serán postreros, y postreros primeros.
32Y estaban en el camino subiendo á Jerusalem; y Jesús iba delante de ellos, y se espantaban, y le seguían con miedo: entonces volviendo á tomar á los doce aparte, les comenzó á decir las cosas que le habían de acontecer:
33He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á los escribas, y le condenarán á muerte, y le entregarán á los Gentiles:
34Y le escarnecerán, y le azotarán, y escupirán en él, y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará.
35Entonces Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, se llegaron á él, diciendo: Maestro, querríamos que nos hagas lo que pidiéremos.
36Y él les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que os haga?
37Y ellos le dijeron: Danos que en tu gloria nos sentemos el uno á tu diestra, y el otro á tu siniestra.
38Entonces Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber del vaso que yo bebo, ó ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado?
39Y ellos dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: A la verdad, del vaso que yo bebo, beberéis; y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados.
40Mas que os sentéis á mi diestra y á mi siniestra, no es mío darlo, sino á quienes está aparejado.
41Y como lo oyeron los diez, comenzaron á enojarse de Jacobo y de Juan.
42Mas Jesús, llamándolos, les dice: Sabéis que los que se ven ser príncipes entre las gentes, se enseñorean de ellas, y los que entre ellas son grandes, tienen sobre ellas potestad.
43Mas no será así entre vosotros: antes cualquiera que quisiere hacerse grande entre vosotros, será vuestro servidor;
44Y cualquiera de vosotros que quisiere hacerse el primero, será siervo de todos.
45Porque el Hijo del hombre tampoco vino para ser servido, mas para servir, y dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
46Entonces vienen á Jericó: y saliendo él de Jericó y sus discípulos y una gran compañía, Bartimeo el ciego, hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando.
47Y oyendo que era Jesús el Nazareno, comenzó á dar voces y decir: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
48Y muchos le reñían, que callase: mas él daba mayores voces: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
49Entonces Jesús parándose, mandó llamarle: y llaman al ciego, diciéndole: Ten confianza: levántate, te llama.
50El entonces, echando su capa, se levantó, y vino á Jesús.
51Y respondiendo Jesús, le dice: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y el ciego le dice: Maestro, que cobre la vista.
52Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha salvado. Y luego cobró la vista, y seguía á Jesús en el camino.

1And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
2And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
3And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
11And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
32And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
33Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
34And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
35And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
36And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
41And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
42But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
44And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.
47And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

1He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
2Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3He answered, “What did Moses command you?”
4They said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”
5But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
6But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
7For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
8and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.
11He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.
12If a woman herself divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”
13They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
14But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
15Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
16He took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
17As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
18Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
19You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
20He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”
21Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”
22But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”
27Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”
28Peter began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all and have followed you.”
29Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,
30but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time: houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.
31But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
32They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
33“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.
34They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
35James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
36He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left hand, in your glory.”
38But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
39They said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
40but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
41When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant toward James and John.
42Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
43But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.
44Whoever of you wants to become first among you shall be bondservant of all.
45For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
46They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
47When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
48Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
49Jesus stood still and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”
50He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.”
52Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
