Y partiendo de allí llegó a los confines de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán, donde concurrieron de nuevo alrededor de él los pueblos vecinos, y se puso otra vez a enseñarlos, como tenía de costumbre.
Y PARTIÉNDOSE de allí, vino á los términos de Judea y tras el Jordán: y volvió el pueblo á juntarse á él; y de nuevo les enseñaba como solía.
And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
Vinieron entonces a él unos fariseos, y le preguntaban por tentarlo si es lícito al marido repudiar a su mujer.
Y llegándose los Fariseos, le preguntaron, para tentarle, si era lícito al marido repudiar á su mujer.
And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
Pero él, en respuesta, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés?
Mas él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés?
And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
He answered, “What did Moses command you?”
Ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió repudiarla, precediendo escritura legal del repudio.
Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió escribir carta de divorcio, y repudiar.
And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
They said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”
A los cuales replicó Jesús : En vista de la dureza de vuestro corazón os dejo mandado eso.
Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento;
And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
Pero al principio , cuando los creó Dios, formó a un hombre y a una mujer;

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

por cuya razón, dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se juntará con su mujer;

y los dos no compondrán sino una sola carne, de manera que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne:

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

No separe, pues, el hombre lo que Dios ha juntado.

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Después en casa, le tocaron otra vez sus discípulos el mismo punto.
Y en casa volvieron los discípulos á preguntarle de lo mismo.
And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

Y él les inculcó: Cualquiera que desechare a su mujer y tomare otra, comete adulterio contra ella.
Y les dice: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, y se casare con otra, comete adulterio contra ella:
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.
Y si la mujer se separa de su marido y se casa con otro es adúltera.
Y si la mujer repudiare á su marido y se casare con otro, comete adulterio.
And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
If a woman herself divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”
Como le presentasen unos niños para que los tocase, los discípulos reñían a los que venían a presentárselos.
Y le presentaban niños para que los tocase; y los discípulos reñían á los que los presentaban.
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
Lo que advirtiendo Jesús , lo llevó muy a mal y les dijo: Dejad que los niños vengan a mí, y no se lo estorbéis; porque de los que se asemejan a ellos es el reino de Dios.
Y viéndolo Jesús, se enojó, y les dijo: Dejad los niños venir, y no se lo estorbéis; porque de los tales es el reino de Dios.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
En verdad os digo, que quien no recibiere, como niño el reino de Dios no entrará en él.
De cierto os digo, que el que no recibiere el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
Y estrechándolos entre sus brazos, y poniendo sobre ellos las manos los bendecía.
Y tomándolos en los brazos, poniendo las manos sobre ellos, los bendecía.
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
He took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Así que salió para ponerse en camino, vino corriendo uno, y arrodillado a sus pies, le preguntó: ¡Oh buen Maestro!, ¿qué debo yo hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?
Y saliendo él para ir su camino, vino uno corriendo, é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le preguntó: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para poseer la vida eterna?
And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno sino sólo Dios.
Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno hay bueno, sino sólo uno, Dios.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
Ya sabes los mandamientos: No cometer adulterio, no matar, no hurtar, no decir falso testimonio, no hacer mal a nadie, honrar a padre y madre.
Los mandamientos sabes: No adulteres: No mates: No hurtes: No digas falso testimonio: No defraudes: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
A esto respondió él, y le dijo: Maestro, todas esas cosas las he observado desde mi mocedad.
El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Maestro, todo esto he guardado desde mi mocedad.
And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”
Y Jesús mirándole de hito en hito, mostró quedar prendado de él, y le dijo: Una cosa te falta aún, anda, vende cuanto tienes, y dalo a los pobres, que así tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; y ven después y sígueme.
Entonces Jesús mirándole, amóle, y díjole: Una cosa te falta: ve, vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme, tomando tu cruz.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”
A esta propuesta, entristecido el joven, se fue muy afligido, pues tenía muchos bienes.
Mas él, entristecido por esta palabra, se fué triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
Y echando Jesús una ojeada alrededor de sí, dijo a sus discípulos: ¡Oh, cuán difícilmente los acaudalados entrarán en el reino de Dios!
Entonces Jesús, mirando alrededor, dice á sus discípulos: ¡Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
Los discípulos quedaron pasmados al oír tales palabras. Pero Jesús , volviendo a hablar les añadió: ¡Ay, hijitos míos, cuán difícil cosa es que los que ponen su confianza en las riquezas entren en el reino de Dios!
Y los discípulos se espantaron de sus palabras; mas Jesús respondiendo, les volvió á decir: ¡Hijos, cuán difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios, los que confían en las riquezas!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
Más fácil es que pase un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que el entrar un rico en el reino de Dios.
Más fácil es pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que el rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
Con esto subía de punto su asombro, y se decían unos a otros: ¿Quién podrá pues salvarse?
Y ellos se espantaban más, diciendo dentro de sí: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse?
And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”
Pero Jesús fijando en ellos la vista, les dijo: A los hombres es esto imposible, mas no a Dios; pues para Dios todas las cosas son posibles.
Entonces Jesús mirándolos, dice: Para los hombres es imposible; mas para Dios, no; porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”
Aquí Pedro, tomando la palabra, le dijo: Por lo que hace a nosotros, bien ves que hemos renunciado todas las cosas y te hemos seguido.
Entonces Pedro comenzó á decirle: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado todas las cosas, y te hemos seguido.
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
Peter began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all and have followed you.”
A lo que Jesús , respondiendo dijo: Pues yo os aseguro que nadie hay que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas o padre o madre, o hijos o heredades por amor de mí y del mensaje de salvación,
Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay ninguno que haya dejado casa, ó hermanos, ó hermanas, ó padre, ó madre, ó mujer, ó hijos, ó heredades, por causa de mí y del evangelio,
And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,
que ahora mismo en este siglo, y aun en medio de las persecuciones, no reciba el cien doblado por equivalentes de casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, de madres, de hijos de heredades; y en el siglo venidero, la vida eterna.
Que no reciba cien tantos ahora en este tiempo, casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, é hijos, y heredades, con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time: houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.
Pero muchos de los que en la tierra hayan sido los primeros, serán allí los últimos; y muchos de los que hayan sido los últimos serán los primeros.
Empero muchos primeros serán postreros, y postreros primeros.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
Continuaban su viaje subiendo a Jerusalén , y Jesús se les adelantaba: y estaban sus discípulos como atónitos, y le seguían llenos de temor. Y tomando aparte de nuevo a los doce, comenzó a repetirles lo que había de sucederle.
Y estaban en el camino subiendo á Jerusalem; y Jesús iba delante de ellos, y se espantaban, y le seguían con miedo: entonces volviendo á tomar á los doce aparte, les comenzó á decir las cosas que le habían de acontecer:
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
Nosotros, les dijo, vamos, como veis, a Jerusalén , donde el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los escribas y ancianos, que le condenarán a muerte, y le entregarán a los gentiles:
He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á los escribas, y le condenarán á muerte, y le entregarán á los Gentiles:
Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.
Y le escarnecerán, y le escupirán, y le azotarán, y le quitarán la vida, y al tercer día resucitará.
Y le escarnecerán, y le azotarán, y escupirán en él, y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará.
And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
Entonces, se arriman a él Santiago y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, y por medio de su madre le hacen esta petición: Maestro, quisiéramos que nos concedieses todo cuanto te pidamos.
Entonces Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, se llegaron á él, diciendo: Maestro, querríamos que nos hagas lo que pidiéremos.
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
Les dijo él: ¿Qué cosas deseáis que os conceda?
Y él les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que os haga?
And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
Concédenos, respondieron, que en tu gloria, nos sentemos el uno a tu diestra y el otro a tu siniestra.
Y ellos le dijeron: Danos que en tu gloria nos sentemos el uno á tu diestra, y el otro á tu siniestra.
They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left hand, in your glory.”
Mas Jesús les replicó: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber el cáliz que yo voy a beber?; ¿o ser bautizados con el bautismo con que yo voy a ser bautizado?
Entonces Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber del vaso que yo bebo, ó ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado?
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
Le respondieron: Sí que podemos. Pues tened por cierto, les dijo Jesús , que beberéis el cáliz y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado;
Y ellos dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: A la verdad, del vaso que yo bebo, beberéis; y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados.
And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
They said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
pero eso de sentarse a mi distra y a mi siniestra no está en mi arbitrio darlo a vosotros, sino a quienes se ha destinado.
Mas que os sentéis á mi diestra y á mi siniestra, no es mío darlo, sino á quienes está aparejado.
But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
Oyendo los diez dicha demanda, dieron muestras de indignación contra Santiago y Juan.
Y como lo oyeron los diez, comenzaron á enojarse de Jacobo y de Juan.
And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant toward James and John.
Mas Jesús , llamándolos todos a sí, les dijo: Bien sabéis que los que tienen autoridad de mandar a las naciones, las tratan con imperio; y que sus príncipes ejercen sobre ellos un poder absoluto.
Mas Jesús, llamándolos, les dice: Sabéis que los que se ven ser príncipes entre las gentes, se enseñorean de ellas, y los que entre ellas son grandes, tienen sobre ellas potestad.
But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
No debe ser lo mismo entre vosostros; sino quien quisiere hacerse mayor ha de ser vuestro criado;
Mas no será así entre vosotros: antes cualquiera que quisiere hacerse grande entre vosotros, será vuestro servidor;
But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.
y quien quisiere ser entre vosotros el primero, debe hacerse siervo de todos.
Y cualquiera de vosotros que quisiere hacerse el primero, será siervo de todos.
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Whoever of you wants to become first among you shall be bondservant of all.
Porque aun el Hijo del hombre no vino a que le sirviesen, sino a servir y a dar su vida por la redención de muchos.
Porque el Hijo del hombre tampoco vino para ser servido, mas para servir, y dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Después de esto llegaron a Jericó ; y al partir de Jericó con sus discípulos seguido de muchísima gente, Bartimeo el ciego, hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino, pidiendo limosna.
Entonces vienen á Jericó: y saliendo él de Jericó y sus discípulos y una gran compañía, Bartimeo el ciego, hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando.
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.
They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
Habiendo oído, pues, que era Jesús Nazareno el que venía, comenzó a dar voces, diciendo: ¡Jesús , hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!
Y oyendo que era Jesús el Nazareno, comenzó á dar voces y decir: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
Y reñíanle muchos para que callara; sin embargo, él alzaba mucho más el grito: ¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!
Y muchos le reñían, que callase: mas él daba mayores voces: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
Parándose entonces Jesús , le mandó llamar. Y le llamaron, diciéndole: ¡Ea, buen ánimo!, levántate, que te llama.
Entonces Jesús parándose, mandó llamarle: y llaman al ciego, diciéndole: Ten confianza: levántate, te llama.
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
Jesus stood still and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”
El cual, arrojando su capa al instante se puso en pie, y vino a él.
El entonces, echando su capa, se levantó, y vino á Jesús.
And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? El ciego le respondió: Maestro, haz que yo vea.
Y respondiendo Jesús, le dice: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y el ciego le dice: Maestro, que cobre la vista.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.”
Y Jesús : Anda, que tu fe te ha curado. Y de repente vio, y él iba siguiendo por el camino.
Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha salvado. Y luego cobró la vista, y seguía á Jesús en el camino.
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
