Und als sie ankamen, sagten sie zu ihm: „Lehrer, wir wissen, dass du objektiv (aufrichtig) bist und auf niemanden besondere Rücksicht nimmst : Du schaust {eben} nicht auf das Äußere der Menschen, sondern lehrst wirklich den Weg Gottes . Darf man dem Kaiser (Cäsar) Steuern zahlen oder nicht? Sollen wir sie zahlen oder nicht zahlen?“
Y viniendo ellos, le dicen: Maestro, sabemos que eres hombre de verdad, y que no te cuidas de nadie; porque no miras á la apariencia de hombres, antes con verdad enseñas el camino de Dios: ¿Es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no? ¿Daremos, ó no daremos?
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?
When they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
