Marcos 14

Faltaban dos días para la Pascua, o sea, la fiesta de los panes sin levadura. Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley buscaban con engaños la oportunidad de arrestar a Jesús y matarlo.

Y DOS días después era la Pascua y los días de los panes sin levadura: y procuraban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas cómo le prenderían por engaño, y le matarían.

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception and kill him.

Se decían entre ellos: «No lo hagamos durante la fiesta, para que el pueblo no haga alboroto».

Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto del pueblo.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot among the people.”

Jesús estaba en Betania, en casa de Simón al que llamaban el leproso. Mientras comían, llegó una mujer con un frasco de alabastro lleno de un perfume hecho de nardo puro, muy costoso. Rompió el frasco y derramó el perfume sobre la cabeza de Jesús.

Y estando él en Bethania en casa de Simón el leproso, y sentado á la mesa, vino una mujer teniendo un alabastro de ungüento de nardo espique de mucho precio; y quebrando el alabastro, derramóselo sobre su cabeza.

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar and poured it over his head.

Algunos de los que estaban allí se enojaron y se decían unos a otros: ―¿Para qué se desperdició este perfume?

Y hubo algunos que se enojaron dentro de sí, y dijeron: ¿Para qué se ha hecho este desperdicio de ungüento?

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, “Why has this ointment been wasted?

Podía haberse vendido por más de trescientas monedas de plata, y dárselas a los pobres. Y reprendían duramente a la mujer.

Porque podía esto ser vendido por más de trescientos denarios, y darse á los pobres. Y murmuraban contra ella.

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” So they grumbled against her.

Jesús les dijo: ―Déjenla en paz. ¿Por qué la molestan? Ella ha hecho una buena obra conmigo.

Mas Jesús dijo: Dejadla; ¿por qué la fatigáis? buena obra me ha hecho;

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.

Porque siempre tendrán a los pobres con ustedes y los podrán ayudar cuando quieran; pero a mí no me van a tener siempre.

Que siempre tendréis los pobres con vosotros, y cuando quisiereis les podréis hacer bien; mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.

Ella hizo lo que pudo. Se ha anticipado a ungir mi cuerpo, preparándolo para la sepultura.

Esta ha hecho lo que podía; porque se ha anticipado á ungir mi cuerpo para la sepultura.

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.

Les aseguro que en cualquier lugar del mundo donde se predique el evangelio, se recordará a esta mujer, contando lo que hizo.

De cierto os digo que donde quiera que fuere predicado este evangelio en todo el mundo, también esto que ha hecho ésta, será dicho para memoria de ella.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.”

Entonces Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce, fue a los jefes de los sacerdotes y se ofreció para entregarles a Jesús.

Entonces Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce, vino á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, para entregársele.

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.

Ellos se alegraron al oírlo y prometieron darle dinero. Judas buscaba el momento apropiado para entregarlo.

Y ellos oyéndolo se holgaron, y prometieron que le darían dineros. Y buscaba oportunidad cómo le entregaría.

And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

El primer día de la fiesta en la que se comían panes sin levadura, cuando se acostumbraba sacrificar el cordero de la Pascua, los discípulos le preguntaron a Jesús: —¿Dónde quieres que vayamos a hacer los preparativos para la comida de la Pascua?

Y el primer día de los panes sin levadura, cuando sacrificaban la pascua, sus discípulos le dicen: ¿Dónde quieres que vayamos á disponer para que comas la pascua?

And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare that you may eat the Passover?”

Él envió a dos de sus discípulos y les dijo: ―Vayan a la ciudad y allí les saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua. Síganlo,

Y envía dos de sus discípulos, y les dice: Id á la ciudad, y os encontrará un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle;

And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

He sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and there a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him,

y díganle al dueño de la casa donde él entre: “El Maestro pregunta: ¿Dónde está el cuarto en el que voy a tener la comida de la Pascua con mis discípulos?”.

Y donde entrare, decid al señor de la casa: El Maestro dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde he de comer la pascua con mis discípulos?

And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

Él les mostrará en el piso alto un cuarto amplio, amueblado y ya listo. Preparen allí nuestra cena.

Y él os mostrará un gran cenáculo ya preparado: aderezad para nosotros allí.

And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.”

Los discípulos salieron y, al llegar a la ciudad, encontraron todo tal como Jesús les había dicho. Entonces prepararon la comida de Pascua.

Y fueron sus discípulos, y vinieron á la ciudad, y hallaron como les había dicho; y aderezaron la pascua.

And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.

Al anochecer, llegó Jesús con los doce.

Y llegada la tarde, fué con los doce.

And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

When it was evening he came with the twelve.

Mientras estaban sentados a la mesa comiendo, dijo: ―Les aseguro que uno de ustedes, que está comiendo conmigo, me va a traicionar.

Y como se sentaron á la mesa y comiesen, dice Jesús: De cierto os digo que uno de vosotros, que come conmigo, me ha de entregar.

And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

As they sat and were eating, Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me.”

Ellos se pusieron tristes y uno por uno le fueron preguntando: ―¿Acaso seré yo?

Entonces ellos comenzaron á entristecerse, y á decirle cada uno por sí: ¿Seré yo? Y el otro: ¿Seré yo?

And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, “Surely not I?” And another said, “Surely not I?”

―Es uno de los doce —dijo Jesús—; es el que moja el pan conmigo en el plato.

Y él respondiendo les dijo: Es uno de los doce que moja conmigo en el plato.

And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

He answered them, “It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.

Les aseguro que el Hijo del hombre morirá tal y como se ha dicho de él en las Escrituras, pero ¡ay de aquel que lo traiciona! Sería mejor para ese hombre no haber nacido.

A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está de él escrito; mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera á aquel hombre si nunca hubiera nacido.

The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

For the Son of Man goes as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

Mientras comían, Jesús tomó pan y lo bendijo. Luego lo partió y se lo dio a ellos, diciendo: ―Tomen, esto es mi cuerpo.

Y estando ellos comiendo, tomó Jesús pan, y bendiciendo, partió y les dió, y dijo: Tomad, esto es mi cuerpo.

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed it, he broke it and gave to them, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body.”

Luego tomó una copa, dio gracias y se la dio a ellos; y todos bebieron de ella.

Y tomando el vaso, habiendo hecho gracias, les dió: y bebieron de él todos.

And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.

Y les dijo: ―Esto es mi sangre del pacto, que es derramada por muchos.

Y les dice: Esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, que por muchos es derramada.

And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

Les aseguro que no volveré a beber del fruto de la vid, hasta el día en que beba el vino nuevo en el reino de Dios.

De cierto os digo que no beberé más del fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día cuando lo beberé nuevo en el reino de Dios.

Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”

Después de cantar los salmos, se fueron al monte de los Olivos.

Y como hubieron cantado el himno, se salieron al monte de las Olivas.

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Jesús les dijo: ―Todos ustedes me abandonarán, porque así lo dicen las Escrituras: “Heriré al pastor y las ovejas se dispersarán”.

Jesús entonces les dice: Todos seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al pastor, y serán derramadas las ovejas.

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

Pero después que yo resucite, iré delante de ustedes a Galilea.

Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.

But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”

Pedro le dijo: ―Aunque todos te abandonen, yo no.

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados, mas no yo.

But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

But Peter said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.”

Jesús le contestó: ―Te aseguro, Pedro, que hoy, esta misma noche, antes que el gallo cante dos veces, me negarás tres veces.

Y le dice Jesús: De cierto te digo que tú, hoy, en esta noche, antes que el gallo haya cantado dos veces, me negarás tres veces.

And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

Pedro dijo con insistencia: ―Aunque tenga que morir contigo, jamás te negaré. Y los demás dijeron lo mismo.

Mas él con mayor porfía decía: Si me fuere menester morir contigo, no te negaré. También todos decían lo mismo.

But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

But he spoke all the more, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.

Llegaron a un lugar llamado Getsemaní, y Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos: ―Siéntense aquí mientras yo voy a orar.

Y vienen al lugar que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, entre tanto que yo oro.

And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

They came to a place which was named Gethsemane. He said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

Se llevó consigo a Pedro, a Jacobo y a Juan, y comenzó a sentir tristeza y angustia.

Y toma consigo á Pedro y á Jacobo y á Juan, y comenzó á atemorizarse, y á angustiarse.

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.

Les dijo: «Tengo tanta angustia que siento que me muero. Quédense aquí y vigilen».

Y les dice: Está muy triste mi alma, hasta la muerte: esperad aquí y velad.

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.”

Se alejó un poco y, postrado en tierra, oró pidiéndole a Dios que si era posible no tuviera él que pasar por aquella hora.

Y yéndose un poco adelante, se postró en tierra, y oró que si fuese posible, pasase de él aquella hora.

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.

Al orar, decía: «Abba, Padre, para ti todo es posible. No me hagas beber este trago amargo; pero no se haga lo que yo quiero sino lo que tú quieres».

Y decía: Abba, Padre, todas las cosas son á ti posibles; traspasa de mí este vaso; empero no lo que yo quiero, sino lo que tú.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

Después regresó a donde estaban sus discípulos y los encontró dormidos. Le dijo a Pedro: «Simón, ¿estás dormido? ¿No pudiste mantenerte despierto ni una hora?

Y vino y los halló durmiendo; y dice á Pedro: ¿Simón, duermes? ¿No has podido velar una hora?

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?

Vigilen y oren para que no caigan en tentación. El espíritu está dispuesto, pero el cuerpo es débil».

Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad es presto, mas la carne enferma.

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Se alejó otra vez e hizo la misma oración.

Y volviéndose á ir, oró, y dijo las mismas palabras.

And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.

Al regresar, los volvió a encontrar dormidos, porque se les cerraban los ojos de sueño. Y no sabían qué decirle.

Y vuelto, los halló otra vez durmiendo, porque los ojos de ellos estaban cargados; y no sabían qué responderle.

And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

Again he returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they didn’t know what to answer him.

Cuando regresó por tercera vez, les dijo: «¿Todavía están durmiendo y descansando? ¡Ya fue suficiente! Ha llegado la hora en que el Hijo del hombre va a ser entregado en manos de los pecadores.

Y vino la tercera vez, y les dice: Dormid ya y descansad: basta, la hora es venida; he aquí, el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de los pecadores.

And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

He came the third time and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

¡Levántense! ¡Vámonos! Aquí viene el que me traiciona».

Levantaos, vamos: he aquí, el que me entrega está cerca.

Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

Arise! Let’s get going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

No había terminado de hablar Jesús cuando llegó Judas, uno de los doce. Venía acompañado de mucha gente armada con espadas y palos, a la que habían enviado los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros de la ley y los ancianos.

Y luego, aun hablando él, vino Judas, que era uno de los doce, y con él una compañía con espadas y palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas y de los ancianos.

And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

A estos el traidor les había dado esta contraseña: «Al que yo bese, ese es; arréstenlo y llévenselo bien asegurado».

Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal común, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle, y llevadle con seguridad.

And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely.”

Al llegar Judas, se acercó rápidamente a Jesús, lo besó y le dijo: ―¡Maestro!

Y como vino, se acercó luego á él, y le dice: Maestro, Maestro. Y le besó.

And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

When he had come, immediately he came to him and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him.

Entonces los hombres arrestaron a Jesús.

Entonces ellos echaron en él sus manos, y le prendieron.

And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

They laid their hands on him and seized him.

Pero uno de los que estaban allí, sacó su espada e hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote, cortándole una oreja.

Y uno de los que estaban allí, sacando la espada, hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le cortó la oreja.

And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Jesús les dijo: ―¿Acaso soy un bandido para que vengan con espadas y palos a arrestarme?

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á tomarme?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

Jesus answered them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?

Cada día estaba con ustedes en el templo enseñándoles, y no me arrestaron. Pero esto ocurre para que se cumplan las Escrituras.

Cada día estaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me tomasteis; pero es así, para que se cumplan las Escrituras.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”

Entonces todos lo abandonaron y huyeron.

Entonces dejándole todos sus discípulos, huyeron.

And they all forsook him, and fled.

They all left him, and fled.

Pero un joven, que sólo se cubría con una sábana, iba siguiendo a Jesús. Lo agarraron,

Empero un mancebillo le seguía cubierto de una sábana sobre el cuerpo desnudo; y los mancebos le prendieron:

And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:

A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,

y él, soltando la sábana, se escapó desnudo.

Mas él, dejando la sábana, se huyó de ellos desnudo.

And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

but he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.

Llevaron a Jesús ante el sumo sacerdote y allí se reunieron todos los jefes de los sacerdotes, los ancianos y los maestros de la ley.

Y trajeron á Jesús al sumo sacerdote; y se juntaron á él todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos y los escribas.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him.

Pedro lo siguió de lejos hasta dentro del patio del sumo sacerdote. Allí estaba sentado con los guardias, calentándose junto al fuego.

Empero Pedro le siguió de lejos hasta dentro del patio del sumo sacerdote; y estaba sentado con los servidores, y calentándose al fuego.

And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.

Los jefes de los sacerdotes y todo el Consejo trataban de encontrar alguna prueba contra Jesús para condenarlo a muerte, pero no la encontraban.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes y todo el concilio buscaban testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle á la muerte; mas no lo hallaban.

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none.

Aunque muchos declaraban falsamente contra él, sus declaraciones eran contradictorias.

Porque muchos decían falso testimonio contra él; mas sus testimonios no concertaban.

For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.

Entonces algunos decidieron acusarlo también con falsedades y dijeron:

Entonces levantándose unos, dieron falso testimonio contra él, diciendo:

And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

Some stood up and gave false testimony against him, saying,

―Nosotros le oímos decir: “Yo destruiré este templo que los hombres han hecho, y en tres días construiré otro, no hecho por hombres”.

Nosotros le hemos oído decir: Yo derribaré este templo que es hecho de mano, y en tres días edificaré otro echo sin mano.

We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”

Pero ni aun así coincidían las declaraciones que daban.

Mas ni aun así se concertaba el testimonio de ellos.

But neither so did their witness agree together.

Even so, their testimony didn’t agree.

Entonces el sumo sacerdote se puso de pie en medio de todos y le preguntó a Jesús: ―¿No tienes nada que contestar? ¿Qué son estas declaraciones contra ti?

Entonces el sumo sacerdote, levantándose en medio, preguntó á Jesús, diciendo: ¿No respondes algo? ¿Qué atestiguan éstos contra ti?

And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

The high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”

Pero Jesús se quedó callado y no le respondió nada, por lo que el sumo sacerdote volvió a preguntarle: ―¿Eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Bendito?

Mas él callaba, y nada respondía. El sumo sacerdote le volvió á preguntar, y le dice: ¿Eres tú el Cristo, el Hijo del Bendito?

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

Jesús le dijo: ―Sí, yo soy. Y ustedes verán al Hijo del hombre sentado a la derecha del Todopoderoso y bajando en las nubes del cielo.

Y Jesús le dijo: Yo soy; y veréis al Hijo del hombre sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y viniendo en las nubes del cielo.

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Jesus said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”

Cuando lo oyó, el sumo sacerdote se rasgó la ropa y dijo: ―¿Para qué necesitamos más testigos?

Entonces el sumo sacerdote, rasgando sus vestidos, dijo: ¿Qué más tenemos necesidad de testigos?

Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

The high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?

Ya oyeron ustedes la blasfemia. ¿Qué les parece? Todos estuvieron de acuerdo y lo condenaron a muerte.

Oído habéis la blasfemia: ¿qué os parece? Y ellos todos le condenaron ser culpado de muerte.

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.

Entonces algunos comenzaron a escupirlo, le vendaron los ojos, lo golpearon y le gritaban: ―¡Profetiza! Y los guardias también le pegaron en la cara.

Y algunos comenzaron á escupir en él, y cubrir su rostro, y á darle bofetadas, y decirle: Profetiza. Y los servidores le herían de bofetadas.

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.

Pedro estaba abajo, en el patio. Una de las criadas del sumo sacerdote que pasó por allí,

Y estando Pedro abajo en el atrio, vino una de las criadas del sumo sacerdote;

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

As Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came,

vio a Pedro calentándose, lo miró detenidamente y le dijo: ―Tú también estabas con ese nazareno, el que se llama Jesús.

Y como vió á Pedro que se calentaba, mirándole, dice: Y tú con Jesús el Nazareno estabas.

And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus!”

Pero él lo negó diciendo: ―No lo conozco. Ni siquiera sé de que estás hablando. Salió y se puso fuera, a la entrada. Y el gallo cantó.

Mas él negó, diciendo: No conozco, ni sé lo que dices. Y se salió fuera á la entrada; y cantó el gallo.

But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.

La criada, al ver otra vez a Pedro, les dijo a los que estaban allí: ―Este es uno de ellos.

Y la criada viéndole otra vez, comenzó á decir á los que estaban allí: Este es de ellos.

And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

The maid saw him and began again to tell those who stood by, “This is one of them.”

Él lo negó otra vez. Poco después, esos mismos le dijeron a Pedro: ―Por supuesto que tú eres uno de ellos, pues también eres galileo.

Mas él negó otra vez. Y poco después, los que estaban allí dijeron otra vez á Pedro: Verdaderamente tú eres de ellos; porque eres Galileo, y tu habla es semejante.

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, “You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

Pedro comenzó a echar maldiciones y jurar: ―¡No conozco a ese hombre del que me hablan!

Y él comenzó á maldecir y á jurar: No conozco á este hombre de quien habláis.

But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

But he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”

En ese mismo momento un gallo cantó por segunda vez, y Pedro se acordó de lo que Jesús le había dicho: «Antes que el gallo cante dos veces, me negarás tres veces». Y se echó a llorar.

Y el gallo cantó la segunda vez: y Pedro se acordó de las palabras que Jesús le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante dos veces, me negarás tres veces. Y pensando en esto, lloraba.

And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the words that Jesus said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.
