Marcos 14

Faltavam dois dias para o início da festa da Páscoa, quando não se comia pão feito com fermento. Os sacerdotes principais e mestres da lei ainda estavam procurando uma oportunidade para prender Jesus secretamente e entregá-lo à morte.

Y DOS días después era la Pascua y los días de los panes sin levadura: y procuraban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas cómo le prenderían por engaño, y le matarían.

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception and kill him.

“Mas não podemos fazer isso durante a Páscoa”, diziam eles, “senão haverá uma revolta no meio do povo”.

Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto del pueblo.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot among the people.”

Enquanto isso, Jesus estava em Betânia, na casa de Simão, o leproso; durante o jantar, entrou uma mulher com um frasco de alabastro contendo um perfume muito caro, de nardo puro. Quebrando o frasco, ela derramou o perfume sobre a cabeça de Jesus.

Y estando él en Bethania en casa de Simón el leproso, y sentado á la mesa, vino una mujer teniendo un alabastro de ungüento de nardo espique de mucho precio; y quebrando el alabastro, derramóselo sobre su cabeza.

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar and poured it over his head.

Alguns dos que estavam à mesa ficaram indignados e disseram uns aos outros: “Por que esse desperdício de perfume.

Y hubo algunos que se enojaron dentro de sí, y dijeron: ¿Para qué se ha hecho este desperdicio de ungüento?

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, “Why has this ointment been wasted?

Isso podia ser vendido por trezentos denários e o dinheiro dado aos pobres!” E repreenderam a mulher severamente.

Porque podía esto ser vendido por más de trescientos denarios, y darse á los pobres. Y murmuraban contra ella.

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” So they grumbled against her.

Mas Jesus disse: “Deixem-na em paz; por que criticá-la por haver feito uma coisa boa?

Mas Jesús dijo: Dejadla; ¿por qué la fatigáis? buena obra me ha hecho;

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.

Vocês sempre têm os pobres entre vocês, e eles necessitam grandemente de auxílio; e podem socorrê-los sempre que quiserem, porém eu não vou ficar aqui por muito tempo.

Que siempre tendréis los pobres con vosotros, y cuando quisiereis les podréis hacer bien; mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.

Ela fez o que podia, e antes do tempo ungiu o meu corpo, preparando-o para o sepultamento.

Esta ha hecho lo que podía; porque se ha anticipado á ungir mi cuerpo para la sepultura.

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.

Eu afirmo a vocês que em todo lugar onde a boa-nova for pregada em todo o mundo, o feito desta mulher será lembrado”.

De cierto os digo que donde quiera que fuere predicado este evangelio en todo el mundo, también esto que ha hecho ésta, será dicho para memoria de ella.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.”

Então Judas Iscariotes, um dos Doze, foi aos sacerdotes principais para combinar como lhes entregaria Jesus.

Entonces Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce, vino á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, para entregársele.

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.

Quando os sacerdotes principais souberam por que ele tinha vindo, ficaram alegres e lhe prometeram uma recompensa. Então ele começou a procurar o momento e o lugar certo para entregá-lo.

Y ellos oyéndolo se holgaron, y prometieron que le darían dineros. Y buscaba oportunidad cómo le entregaría.

And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

No primeiro dia da festa dos pães sem fermento, quando os cordeiros eram sacrificados, os discípulos perguntaram a Jesus onde ele queria comer a ceia tradicional da Páscoa.

Y el primer día de los panes sin levadura, cuando sacrificaban la pascua, sus discípulos le dicen: ¿Dónde quieres que vayamos á disponer para que comas la pascua?

And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare that you may eat the Passover?”

Ele mandou dois de seus discípulos a Jerusalém fazer os preparativos. “Quando estiverem andando para lá”, disse-lhes ele, “vocês verão um homem que vem em sua direção carregando uma vasilha de água. Vão atrás dele.

Y envía dos de sus discípulos, y les dice: Id á la ciudad, y os encontrará un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle;

And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

He sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and there a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him,

Onde ele entrar, digam ao dono da casa: ‘O Mestre pergunta: Onde fica a sala em que eu e os meus discípulos poderemos comer a ceia da Páscoa?’

Y donde entrare, decid al señor de la casa: El Maestro dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde he de comer la pascua con mis discípulos?

And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

Ele levará vocês para uma sala grande toda arrumada no andar superior. Preparem a nossa ceia ali”.

Y él os mostrará un gran cenáculo ya preparado: aderezad para nosotros allí.

And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.”

Então os dois discípulos foram para a cidade, acharam tudo como Jesus tinha dito, e prepararam a Páscoa.

Y fueron sus discípulos, y vinieron á la ciudad, y hallaron como les había dicho; y aderezaron la pascua.

And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

Ao anoitecer, Jesus chegou com os Doze.

And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

E quando eles estavam reclinados à mesa, comendo, Jesus disse: “Eu afirmo a vocês que verdadeiramente um de vocês vai me trair, um de vocês que está aqui, comendo comigo”.

Y como se sentaron á la mesa y comiesen, dice Jesús: De cierto os digo que uno de vosotros, que come conmigo, me ha de entregar.

And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

As they sat and were eating, Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me.”

Uma tristeza enorme tomou conta deles, e perguntavam-lhe um a um: “Por acaso sou eu?”

Entonces ellos comenzaron á entristecerse, y á decirle cada uno por sí: ¿Seré yo? Y el otro: ¿Seré yo?

And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, “Surely not I?” And another said, “Surely not I?”

Jesus respondeu: “É um de vocês doze, um que está comendo do mesmo prato comigo agora.

Y él respondiendo les dijo: Es uno de los doce que moja conmigo en el plato.

And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

He answered them, “It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.

O Filho do Homem deve morrer, como os profetas declararam há muito tempo; mas, ai daquele que trai o Filho do Homem! Antes ele nunca tivesse nascido!”

A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está de él escrito; mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera á aquel hombre si nunca hubiera nacido.

The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

For the Son of Man goes as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

Enquanto eles estavam comendo, Jesus tomou um pão, deu graças, e partiu-o; depois deu a eles e disse: “Comam-no. Isto é o meu corpo”.

Y estando ellos comiendo, tomó Jesús pan, y bendiciendo, partió y les dió, y dijo: Tomad, esto es mi cuerpo.

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed it, he broke it and gave to them, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body.”

Depois tomou um cálice de vinho, deu por ele graças e lhes ofereceu; e todos beberam.

Y tomando el vaso, habiendo hecho gracias, les dió: y bebieron de él todos.

And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

Em seguida disse-lhes: “Isto é o meu sangue, derramado em favor de muitos, para firmar a nova aliança entre Deus e o homem.

Y les dice: Esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, que por muchos es derramada.

And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

Eu afirmo a vocês que não mais provarei deste vinho até o dia em que beber com vocês o vinho novo no Reino de Deus”.

De cierto os digo que no beberé más del fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día cuando lo beberé nuevo en el reino de Dios.

Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”

Então eles cantaram um hino e saíram para o monte das Oliveiras.

Y como hubieron cantado el himno, se salieron al monte de las Olivas.

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

“Todos vocês vão me abandonar”, disse-lhes Jesus, “porque está escrito: ‘Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas se espalharão’.

Jesús entonces les dice: Todos seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al pastor, y serán derramadas las ovejas.

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

“Mas depois de ressuscitar, irei para a Galileia e lá me encontrarei com vocês”.

Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.

But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”

Pedro disse a ele: “Eu nunca o abandonarei; não importa o que os outros façam!”

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados, mas no yo.

But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

But Peter said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.”

“Pedro”, disse Jesus, “eu afirmo a você que antes que o galo cante a segunda vez nesta noite, você me negará três vezes”.

Y le dice Jesús: De cierto te digo que tú, hoy, en esta noche, antes que el gallo haya cantado dos veces, me negarás tres veces.

And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

“Não!” insistiu Pedro. “Nem que eu tenha de morrer com o Senhor, eu nunca o negarei!” E todos disseram o mesmo.

Mas él con mayor porfía decía: Si me fuere menester morir contigo, no te negaré. También todos decían lo mismo.

But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

But he spoke all the more, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.

Nisso eles chegaram a um bosque de oliveiras chamado Getsêmani, onde Jesus ordenou aos discípulos: “Sentem-se aqui, enquanto vou orar”.

Y vienen al lugar que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, entre tanto que yo oro.

And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

Levou consigo Pedro, Tiago e João, e começou a encher-se de profunda aflição e angústia.

Y toma consigo á Pedro y á Jacobo y á Juan, y comenzó á atemorizarse, y á angustiarse.

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.

E disse-lhes: “A minha alma está esmagada pela tristeza a ponto de morrer; fiquem aqui e vigiem comigo”.

Y les dice: Está muy triste mi alma, hasta la muerte: esperad aquí y velad.

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.”

Ele foi um pouco mais adiante, prostrou-se e orou para que, se fosse possível, a hora horrível que o esperava não chegasse.

Y yéndose un poco adelante, se postró en tierra, y oró que si fuese posible, pasase de él aquella hora.

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

“Pai, ó Pai!”, dizia ele. “Tudo é possível para o Senhor. Afaste esse cálice de mim. Contudo, seja feita a sua vontade, e não a minha”.

Y decía: Abba, Padre, todas las cosas son á ti posibles; traspasa de mí este vaso; empero no lo que yo quiero, sino lo que tú.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

Então voltou aos três discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. “Simão”, disse ele a Pedro, “você está dormindo? Você não pôde vigiar comigo nem mesmo uma hora?

Y vino y los halló durmiendo; y dice á Pedro: ¿Simón, duermes? ¿No has podido velar una hora?

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?

Vigiem e orem para que não caiam em tentação. Pois embora o espírito esteja preparado, o corpo é fraco”.

Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad es presto, mas la carne enferma.

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Ele retirou-se outra vez e orou, repetindo suas súplicas.

Y volviéndose á ir, oró, y dijo las mismas palabras.

And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

Novamente voltou a eles e os encontrou dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados. Eles não sabiam o que dizer.

Y vuelto, los halló otra vez durmiendo, porque los ojos de ellos estaban cargados; y no sabían qué responderle.

And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

Again he returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they didn’t know what to answer him.

Voltando pela terceira vez, ele lhes disse: “Vocês ainda dormem e descansam? Basta! Chegou a hora, e o Filho do Homem será entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.

Y vino la tercera vez, y les dice: Dormid ya y descansad: basta, la hora es venida; he aquí, el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de los pecadores.

And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

He came the third time and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Venham! Levantem-se! Precisamos ir embora. Vejam! O meu traidor está se aproximando!”

Levantaos, vamos: he aquí, el que me entrega está cerca.

Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

Arise! Let’s get going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

Imediatamente, enquanto ele ainda estava falando, apareceu Judas, um dos Doze. Ele chegou com uma multidão armada de espadas e cacetes, enviada pelos sacerdotes principais, mestres da lei e outros líderes religiosos.

Y luego, aun hablando él, vino Judas, que era uno de los doce, y con él una compañía con espadas y palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas y de los ancianos.

And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

O traidor Judas havia combinado com eles um sinal: “Vocês devem prender aquele a quem eu saudar com um beijo; procurem levá-lo em segurança”.

Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal común, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle, y llevadle con seguridad.

And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely.”

Portanto, logo que chegaram, ele caminhou para Jesus. “Mestre!” exclamou, e o cumprimentou com um beijo.

Y como vino, se acercó luego á él, y le dice: Maestro, Maestro. Y le besó.

And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

When he had come, immediately he came to him and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him.

Então a multidão agarrou Jesus e o prenderam.

Entonces ellos echaron en él sus manos, y le prendieron.

And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

They laid their hands on him and seized him.

Mas alguém puxou uma espada e feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, cortando-lhe a orelha.

Y uno de los que estaban allí, sacando la espada, hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le cortó la oreja.

And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Jesus lhes perguntou: “Eu sou algum assaltante perigoso, para que vocês venham assim, armados para me prender?

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á tomarme?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

Jesus answered them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?

Por que não me prenderam no templo? Eu estive lá ensinando todos os dias. Porém estas coisas estão acontecendo para cumprir as profecias a respeito de mim”.

Cada día estaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me tomasteis; pero es así, para que se cumplan las Escrituras.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”

Então todos os seus discípulos o abandonaram e fugiram.

Entonces dejándole todos sus discípulos, huyeron.

And they all forsook him, and fled.

Havia um jovem que estava seguindo a Jesus, vestido apenas com um lençol de linho. Quando a multidão tentou agarrá-lo,

Empero un mancebillo le seguía cubierto de una sábana sobre el cuerpo desnudo; y los mancebos le prendieron:

And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:

A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,

ele escapou nu, deixando seu lençol para trás.

Mas él, dejando la sábana, se huyó de ellos desnudo.

And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

Jesus foi conduzido à casa do sumo sacerdote, onde todos os sacerdotes principais, os líderes religiosos e os mestres da lei se reuniram.

Y trajeron á Jesús al sumo sacerdote; y se juntaron á él todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos y los escribas.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him.

Pedro seguia Jesus de longe e então entrou pelo portão da residência do sumo sacerdote e agachou-se junto à fogueira, entre os guardas.

Empero Pedro le siguió de lejos hasta dentro del patio del sumo sacerdote; y estaba sentado con los servidores, y calentándose al fuego.

And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.

Lá dentro, os sacerdotes principais e todo o Sinédrio estavam tentando encontrar alguma coisa contra Jesus para poder condená-lo à morte. Mas seus esforços eram em vão.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes y todo el concilio buscaban testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle á la muerte; mas no lo hallaban.

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none.

Muitas falsas testemunhas se apresentaram, porém se contradiziam umas às outras.

Porque muchos decían falso testimonio contra él; mas sus testimonios no concertaban.

For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.

Finalmente uns homens se levantaram para testemunhar falsamente contra ele, e disseram:

Entonces levantándose unos, dieron falso testimonio contra él, diciendo:

And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

Some stood up and gave false testimony against him, saying,

“Nós o ouvimos dizer: ‘Destruirei este templo feito por mãos humanas e em três dias construirei outro, não feito por mãos humanas!’ ”

Nosotros le hemos oído decir: Yo derribaré este templo que es hecho de mano, y en tres días edificaré otro echo sin mano.

We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”

Mas ni aun así se concertaba el testimonio de ellos.

But neither so did their witness agree together.

Even so, their testimony didn’t agree.

Então o sumo sacerdote levantou-se diante deles e perguntou a Jesus: “Você se recusa a responder a esta acusação? Que tem a dizer em sua defesa?”

Entonces el sumo sacerdote, levantándose en medio, preguntó á Jesús, diciendo: ¿No respondes algo? ¿Qué atestiguan éstos contra ti?

And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

The high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”

Mas Jesus não deu nenhuma resposta. Então o sumo sacerdote perguntou-lhe: “Você é o Cristo, o Filho do Deus Bendito?”

Mas él callaba, y nada respondía. El sumo sacerdote le volvió á preguntar, y le dice: ¿Eres tú el Cristo, el Hijo del Bendito?

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

Jesus disse: “Sou, e vocês verão o Filho do Homem assentado à direita do Deus Todo-poderoso, vindo com as nuvens do céu”.

Y Jesús le dijo: Yo soy; y veréis al Hijo del hombre sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y viniendo en las nubes del cielo.

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Jesus said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”

Então o sumo sacerdote rasgou as suas roupas e disse: “Para que esperar por testemunhas?

Entonces el sumo sacerdote, rasgando sus vestidos, dijo: ¿Qué más tenemos necesidad de testigos?

Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

The high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?

Vocês ouviram sua blasfêmia. Qual é a sentença de vocês?” E todos votaram pela sentença de morte.

Oído habéis la blasfemia: ¿qué os parece? Y ellos todos le condenaron ser culpado de muerte.

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.

Alguns deles começaram então a cuspir nele, vendaram-lhe os olhos e deram-lhe socos no rosto. “Ó profeta, quem foi que bateu em você agora?”, zombavam eles. E os guardas davam-lhe socos enquanto o levavam para fora.

Y algunos comenzaron á escupir en él, y cubrir su rostro, y á darle bofetadas, y decirle: Profetiza. Y los servidores le herían de bofetadas.

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.

Enquanto isso Pedro estava lá embaixo, no pátio. Umas das criadas que trabalhavam para o sumo sacerdote passou por ali.

Y estando Pedro abajo en el atrio, vino una de las criadas del sumo sacerdote;

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

As Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came,

Ela viu Pedro aquecendo-se na fogueira, olhou bem para ele e disse: “Você também estava com Jesus, o Nazareno”.

Y como vió á Pedro que se calentaba, mirándole, dice: Y tú con Jesús el Nazareno estabas.

And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus!”

Pedro, porém, negou, dizendo: “Eu não sei o que você está dizendo”, e saiu para o canto do pátio. Nessa mesma hora um galo cantou.

Mas él negó, diciendo: No conozco, ni sé lo que dices. Y se salió fuera á la entrada; y cantó el gallo.

But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.

A criada o viu de pé ali e começou a dizer aos outros: “Está ali! Ele é um deles”.

Y la criada viéndole otra vez, comenzó á decir á los que estaban allí: Este es de ellos.

And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

The maid saw him and began again to tell those who stood by, “This is one of them.”

Pedro negou outra vez. Um pouco mais tarde, outros que estavam ao redor da fogueira começaram a dizer a Pedro: “Você também é um deles, porque é da Galileia!”

Mas él negó otra vez. Y poco después, los que estaban allí dijeron otra vez á Pedro: Verdaderamente tú eres de ellos; porque eres Galileo, y tu habla es semejante.

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, “You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

Ele começou a praguejar e a jurar: “Eu não sei nem quem é esse homem de quem vocês estão falando”.

Y él comenzó á maldecir y á jurar: No conozco á este hombre de quien habláis.

But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

But he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”

E imediatamente o galo cantou pela segunda vez. Então as palavras de Jesus voltaram à mente de Pedro: “Antes que o galo cante duas vezes, você me negará três vezes”. E ele começou a chorar.

Y el gallo cantó la segunda vez: y Pedro se acordó de las palabras que Jesús le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante dos veces, me negarás tres veces. Y pensando en esto, lloraba.

And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the words that Jesus said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.
