Da aber Pilatus der Volksmenge willfahren wollte, ließ er ihnen den Barabbas frei und überlieferte Jesus, nachdem er ihn hatte geißeln lassen, damit er gekreuzigt würde.

Y Pilato, queriendo satisfacer al pueblo, les soltó á Barrabás, y entregó á Jesús, después de azotarle, para que fuese crucificado.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.
