E SUBITO la mattina, i principali sacerdoti, con gli anziani, e gli Scribi, e tutto il concistoro, tenuto consiglio, legarono Gesù, e lo menarono, e lo misero in man di Pilato.

Y LUEGO por la mañana, habiendo tenido consejo los príncipes de los sacerdotes con los ancianos, y con los escribas, y con todo el concilio, llevaron á Jesús atado, y le entregaron á Pilato.

And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

E Pilato gli domandò: Sei tu il Re de' Giudei? Ed egli, rispondendo, gli disse: Tu lo dici.

Y Pilato le preguntó: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judíos? Y respondiendo él, le dijo: Tú lo dices.

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.

Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered, “So you say.”

E i principali sacerdoti l'accusavano di molte cose; ma egli non rispondeva nulla.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes le acusaban mucho.

And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.

E Pilato da capo lo domandò, dicendo: Non rispondi tu nulla? vedi quante cose costoro testimoniano contro a te.

Y le preguntó otra vez Pilato, diciendo: ¿No respondes algo? Mira de cuántas cosas te acusan.

And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

Ma Gesù non rispose nulla di più, talchè Pilato se ne maravigliava.

Or ogni festa egli liberava loro un prigione, qualunque chiedessero.

Or vi era colui, ch'era chiamato Barabba, ch'era prigione co' suoi compagni di sedizione, i quali avean fatto omicidio nella sedizione.

Y había uno, que se llamaba Barrabás, preso con sus compañeros de motín que habían hecho muerte en una revuelta.

And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

E la moltitudine, gridando, cominciò a domandare che facesse come sempre avea lor fatto.

Y viniendo la multitud, comenzó á pedir hiciese como siempre les había hecho.

And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.

E Pilato rispose loro, dicendo: Volete che io vi liberi il Re de' Giudei?

Y Pilato les respondió, diciendo: ¿Queréis que os suelte al Rey de los Judíos?

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

(Perciocchè riconosceva bene che i principali sacerdoti glielo aveano messo nelle mani per invidia).

Porque conocía que por envidia le habían entregado los príncipes de los sacerdotes.

For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.

Ma i principali sacerdoti incitarono la moltitudine a chieder che più tosto liberasse loro Barabba.

Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes incitaron á la multitud, que les soltase antes á Barrabás.

But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

E Pilato, rispondendo, da capo disse loro: Che volete adunque che io faccia di colui che voi chiamate Re de' Giudei?

Y respondiendo Pilato, les dice otra vez: ¿Qué pues queréis que haga del que llamáis Rey de los Judíos?

And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?

Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”

Ed essi di nuovo gridarono: Crocifiggilo.

Y ellos volvieron á dar voces: Crucifícale.

And they cried out again, Crucify him.

They cried out again, “Crucify him!”

E Pilato disse loro: Ma pure, che male ha egli fatto? Ed essi vie più gridavano: Crocifiggilo.

Mas Pilato les decía: ¿Pues qué mal ha hecho? Y ellos daban más voces: Crucifícale.

Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, “Crucify him!”

Pilato adunque, volendo soddisfare alla moltitudine, liberò loro Barabba. E dopo aver flagellato Gesù, lo diede loro in mano, per esser crocifisso.

Y Pilato, queriendo satisfacer al pueblo, les soltó á Barrabás, y entregó á Jesús, después de azotarle, para que fuese crucificado.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.

Allora i soldati lo menarono dentro alla corte, che è il Pretorio, e raunarono tutta la schiera.

Entonces los soldados le llevaron dentro de la sala, es á saber, al Pretorio; y convocan toda la cohorte.

And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Prætorium; and they call together the whole band.

E lo vestirono di porpora; e contesta una corona di spine, gliela misero intorno al capo.

Poi presero a salutarlo, e a dire: Ben ti sia, Re de' Giudei.

Comenzaron luego á saludarle: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos!

E gli percotevano il capo con una canna, e gli sputavano addosso; e postisi inginocchioni, l'adoravano.

Y le herían en la cabeza con una caña, y escupían en él, y le adoraban hincadas las rodillas.

And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

They struck his head with a reed and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.

E dopo che l'ebbero schernito, lo spogliarono della porpora, e lo rivestirono de' suoi propri vestimenti, e lo menarono fuori, per crocifiggerlo.

Y cuando le hubieron escarnecido, le desnudaron la púrpura, y le vistieron sus propios vestidos, y le sacaron para crucificarle.

And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

ED angariarono a portar la croce di esso, un certo passante, detto Simon Cireneo, padre di Alessandro e di Rufo, il qual tornava da' campi.

Y cargaron á uno que pasaba, Simón Cireneo, padre de Alejandro y de Rufo, que venía del campo, para que llevase su cruz.

And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

E menarono Gesù al luogo detto Golgota; il che, interpretato, vuol dire: Il luogo del teschio.

Y le llevan al lugar de Gólgotha, que declarado quiere decir: Lugar de la Calavera.

And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

E gli dieder da bere del vino condito con mirra; ma egli non lo prese.

Y le dieron á beber vino mezclado con mirra; mas él no lo tomó.

And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.

E dopo averlo crocifisso, spartirono i suoi vestimenti, tirando la sorte sopra essi, per saper ciò che ne torrebbe ciascuno.

Y cuando le hubieron crucificado, repartieron sus vestidos, echando suertes sobre ellos, qué llevaría cada uno.

And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.

E la soprascritta del maleficio che gli era apposto era scritta di sopra a lui, in questa maniera: IL RE DE' GIUDEI.

Crocifissero ancora con lui due ladroni, l'un dalla sua destra, e l'altro dalla sinistra.

Y crucificaron con él dos ladrones, uno á su derecha, y el otro á su izquierda.

And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

E si adempiè la scrittura che dice: Ed egli è stato annoverato fra i malfattori.

And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

E coloro che passavano ivi presso l'ingiuriavano, scotendo il capo, e dicendo: Eia! tu che disfai il tempio, ed in tre giorni lo riedifichi,

Y los que pasaban le denostaban, meneando sus cabezas, y diciendo: ¡Ah! tú que derribas el templo de Dios, y en tres días lo edificas,

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,

salva te stesso, e scendi giù di croce.

Sálvate á ti mismo, y desciende de la cruz.

Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

save yourself, and come down from the cross!”

Simigliantemente ancora i principali sacerdoti, con gli Scribi, beffandosi, dicevano l'uno all'altro: Egli ha salvati gli altri, e non può salvar sè stesso.

Y de esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes escarneciendo, decían unos á otros, con los escribas: A otros salvó, á sí mismo no se puede salvar.

Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

Scenda ora giù di croce il Cristo, il Re d'Israele; acciocchè noi lo vediamo, e crediamo. Coloro ancora ch'erano stati crocifissi con lui l'ingiuriavano.

El Cristo, Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, para que veamos y creamos. También los que estaban crucificados con él le denostaban.

Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.

Poi, venuta l'ora sesta, si fecero tenebre per tutta la terra, infino all'ora di nona.

Ed all'ora di nona, Gesù gridò con gran voce, dicendo: Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabactani? il che, interpretato, vuol dire: Dio mio, Dio mio, perchè mi hai abbandonato?

Y á la hora de nona, exclamó Jesús á gran voz, diciendo: Eloi, Eloi, ¿lama sabachthani? que declarado, quiere decir: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Ed alcuni di coloro ch'eran quivi presenti, udito ciò, dicevano: Ecco, egli chiama Elia.

Y oyéndole unos de los que estaban allí, decían: He aquí, llama á Elías.

And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

E un di loro corse; ed empiuta una spugna d'aceto, e postala intorno ad una canna, gli diè da bere, dicendo: Lasciate; vediamo se Elia verrà, per trarlo giù.

Y corrió uno, y empapando una esponja en vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, le dió á beber, diciendo: Dejad, veamos si vendrá Elías á quitarle.

And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

E Gesù, gettato un gran grido, rendè lo spirito.

E la cortina del tempio si fendè in due, da cima a fondo.

E il centurione, ch'era quivi presente di rincontro a Gesù, veduto che dopo aver così gridato, egli avea reso lo spirito, disse: Veramente quest'uomo era Figliuol di Dio.

Y el centurión que estaba delante de él, viendo que había espirado así clamando, dijo: Verdaderamente este hombre era el Hijo de Dios.

And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”

Or quivi erano ancora delle donne, riguardando da lontano; fra le quali era Maria Maddalena, e Maria madre di Giacomo il piccolo, e di Iose, e Salome;

Y también estaban algunas mujeres mirando de lejos; entre las cuales estaba María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo el menor y de José, y Salomé;

There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

le quali, eziandio mentre egli era nella Galilea, l'aveano seguitato, e gli aveano ministrato; e molte altre, le quali erano salite con lui in Gerusalemme.

José de Arimatea, senador noble, que también esperaba el reino de Dios, vino, y osadamente entró á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

E Pilato si maravigliò ch'egli fosse già morto. E chiamato a sè il centurione, gli domandò se era gran tempo ch'egli era morto;

Y Pilato se maravilló que ya fuese muerto; y haciendo venir al centurión, preguntóle si era ya muerto.

And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.

e, saputo il fatto dal centurione, donò il corpo a Giuseppe.

Y enterado del centurión, dió el cuerpo á José:

And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

Ed egli, comperato un panno lino, e tratto Gesù giù di croce, l'involse nel panno, e lo pose in un monumento, che era tagliato dentro una roccia; e rotolò una pietra all'apertura del monumento.

El cual compró una sábana, y quitándole, le envolvió en la sábana: y le puso en un sepulcro que estaba cavado en una peña; y revolvió una piedra á la puerta del sepulcro.

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

E Maria Maddalena, e Maria madre di Iose, riguardavano ove egli sarebbe posto.

Y María Magdalena, y María madre de José, miraban donde era puesto.

And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
