Und alsbald in der Frühe faßten die Hohenpriester mit den Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten und dem ganzen Hohen Rat einen Beschluß und führten Jesus gebunden hin und überantworteten ihn dem Pilatus.

Y LUEGO por la mañana, habiendo tenido consejo los príncipes de los sacerdotes con los ancianos, y con los escribas, y con todo el concilio, llevaron á Jesús atado, y le entregaron á Pilato.

Und Pilatus fragte ihn: Bist du der König der Juden? Er antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es!

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.

Und die Hohenpriester brachten viele Anklagen wider ihn vor.

Pilatus aber fragte ihn abermal und sprach: Antwortest du nichts? Siehe, wie vieles sie gegen dich vorbringen!

And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

Jesus aber antwortete nichts mehr, so daß sich Pilatus verwunderte.

Aber auf das Fest pflegte er ihnen einen Gefangenen loszugeben, welchen sie begehrten.

And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

Und das Volk zog hinauf und fing an zu verlangen, †daß er täte, wie er ihnen allezeit getan.

Pilatus aber antwortete ihnen und sprach: Wollt ihr, daß ich euch den König der Juden freigebe?

Denn er wußte, daß die Hohenpriester ihn aus Neid überantwortet hatten.

Porque conocía que por envidia le habían entregado los príncipes de los sacerdotes.

For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

Aber die Hohenpriester wiegelten das Volk auf, daß er ihnen lieber den Barabbas losgeben solle.

Pilatus antwortete und sprach wiederum zu ihnen: Was wollt ihr nun, daß ich mit dem tue, welchen ihr König der Juden nennet?

Y respondiendo Pilato, les dice otra vez: ¿Qué pues queréis que haga del que llamáis Rey de los Judíos?

And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?

Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”

Sie aber schrieen wiederum: Kreuzige ihn!

Y ellos volvieron á dar voces: Crucifícale.

And they cried out again, Crucify him.

Pilatus sprach zu ihnen: Was hat er denn Böses getan? Sie aber schrieen noch viel mehr: Kreuzige ihn!

Mas Pilato les decía: ¿Pues qué mal ha hecho? Y ellos daban más voces: Crucifícale.

Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

Da nun Pilatus das Volk befriedigen wollte, gab er ihnen den Barabbas los und überantwortete Jesus, nachdem er ihn hatte geißeln lassen, daß er gekreuzigt werde.

Y Pilato, queriendo satisfacer al pueblo, les soltó á Barrabás, y entregó á Jesús, después de azotarle, para que fuese crucificado.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Und sie brachten ihn auf den Platz Golgatha (das heißt übersetzt Schädelstätte).

And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

Und sie gaben ihm Myrrhenwein zu trinken, aber er nahm ihn nicht.

Und mit ihm kreuzigten sie zwei Räuber, einen zu seiner Rechten und einen zu seiner Linken.

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

Ha, der du den Tempel zerstörst und in drei Tagen aufbaust, hilf dir selbst und steige vom Kreuz herab!

Sálvate á ti mismo, y desciende de la cruz.

Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

Gleicherweise spotteten auch die Hohenpriester untereinander samt den Schriftgelehrten und sprachen: Andern hat er geholfen, sich selbst kann er nicht helfen.

Y de esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes escarneciendo, decían unos á otros, con los escribas: A otros salvó, á sí mismo no se puede salvar.

Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

Der Christus, der König Israels, steige nun vom Kreuze herab, auf daß wir sehen und glauben! Auch die, welche mit ihm gekreuzigt waren, schmähten ihn.

El Cristo, Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, para que veamos y creamos. También los que estaban crucificados con él le denostaban.

Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

Und etliche der Umstehenden, die es hörten, sprachen: Siehe, er ruft den Elia!

And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

Einer aber lief und füllte einen Schwamm mit Essig, steckte ihn auf ein Rohr, tränkte ihn und sprach: Halt! laßt uns sehen, ob Elia kommt, um ihn herabzunehmen!

Y corrió uno, y empapando una esponja en vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, le dió á beber, diciendo: Dejad, veamos si vendrá Elías á quitarle.

And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

Es sahen aber auch Frauen von ferne zu, unter ihnen auch Maria Magdalena und Maria, des jüngern Jakobus und Joses Mutter, und Salome,

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

Pilatus aber wunderte sich, daß er schon gestorben sein sollte, und rief den Hauptmann und fragte ihn, ob er schon lange gestorben sei.

Y Pilato se maravilló que ya fuese muerto; y haciendo venir al centurión, preguntóle si era ya muerto.

And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.

Und als er es von dem Hauptmann erfahren, schenkte er dem Joseph den Leichnam.

Y enterado del centurión, dió el cuerpo á José:

And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

Und dieser kaufte Leinwand, nahm ihn herab, wickelte ihn in die Leinwand und legte ihn in eine Gruft, die in einen Felsen gehauen war, und wälzte einen Stein vor den Eingang der Gruft.

El cual compró una sábana, y quitándole, le envolvió en la sábana: y le puso en un sepulcro que estaba cavado en una peña; y revolvió una piedra á la puerta del sepulcro.

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

Maria Magdalena aber und Maria, Joses' Mutter, sahen zu, wo er hingelegt wurde.
