As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

trat Johannes der Täufer in der Wüste (Wildnis) auf (trat Johannes auf, der in der Wüste taufte) und predigte (verkündete) eine Taufe der Umkehr (Buße; Umkehr-Taufe) zur Vergebung der Sünden.

Bautizaba Juan en el desierto, y predicaba el bautismo del arrepentimiento para remisión de pecados.

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.

Und das gesamte judäische Gebiet (Gegend, Land) und alle Jerusalemer begaben sich (gingen) hinaus zu ihm und ließen sich von ihm im Fluss Jordan taufen , wobei (und) sie ihre Sünden bekannten.

Y salía á él toda la provincia de Judea, y los de Jerusalem; y eran todos bautizados por él en el río de Jordán, confesando sus pecados.

And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.

Und Johannes pflegte †ein Gewand aus Kamelhaar und einen Ledergürtel um seine Hüften (Taille) zu tragen und Heuschrecken und wilden Honig zu essen .

Y Juan andaba vestido de pelos de camello, y con un cinto de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y comía langostas y miel silvestre.

And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.

Und er predigte (verkündete) {sagend}: „Es kommt nach mir †einer, der mächtiger (stärker) †ist als ich. Ich bin es nicht wert (gut genug, würdig), mich zu bücken und (gebückt) ihm die Riemen seiner Sandalen aufzubinden!

Y predicaba, diciendo: Viene tras mí el que es más poderoso que yo, al cual no soy digno de desatar encorvado la correa de sus zapatos.

And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.

''Ich'' habe euch mit Wasser getauft, ''er'' aber wird euch mit †dem (im) Heiligem Geist taufen.“

Yo á la verdad os he bautizado con agua; mas él os bautizará con Espíritu Santo.

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”

Und {es geschah} in jenen Tagen kam Jesus aus (von) Nazaret †in Galiläa und ließ sich von Johannes im Jordan taufen.

Y aconteció en aquellos días, que Jesús vino de Nazaret de Galilea, y fué bautizado por Juan en el Jordán.

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

Und in dem Moment (gleich), als er aus dem Wasser stieg , sah er, wie (dass) der Himmel geteilt (geöffnet) wurde und der Geist wie eine Taube in ihn (zu ihm; auf ihn) herabkam.

Y luego, subiendo del agua, vió abrirse los cielos, y al Espíritu como paloma, que descendía sobre él.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

Und eine Stimme kam (geschah) aus dem Himmel : „Du bist mein geliebter Sohn, an dir habe ich Freude (Gefallen gefunden) !“

Y hubo una voz de los cielos que decía: Tú eres mi Hijo amado; en ti tomo contentamiento.

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Und gleich danach brachte (führte; trieb) der Geist ihn in die Wüste (Wildnis).

Y luego el Espíritu le impele al desierto.

And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

Und er war (lebte, verbrachte) vierzig Tage in der Wüste (Wildnis) und (während, wobei) wurde vom Satan auf die Probe gestellt (versucht), und er war (lebte) unter (mit) den Tieren, und die Engel dienten (versorgten, warteten auf) ihm.

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

{Aber} Nachdem Johannes verhaftet worden war, begab sich (kam) Jesus nach Galiläa und predigte (verkündete) das Evangelium Gottes

Mas después que Juan fué encarcelado, Jesús vino á Galilea predicando el evangelio del reino de Dios,

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom,

und sagte {dass}: „Die Zeit ist eingetreten (gekommen, erfüllt) und Gottes Königsherrschaft (Königreich) ist nahegekommen. Kehrt um (tut Buße) und glaubt an das Evangelium!“

Y diciendo: El tiempo es cumplido, y el reino de Dios está cerca: arrepentíos, y creed al evangelio.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

Und während (als) er am Meer von Galiläa entlangging, sah er Simon und Andreas, Simons Bruder, die gerade Wurfnetze (ein Wurfnetz) ins Meer warfen . Sie waren nämlich Fischer.

Y pasando junto á la mar de Galilea, vió á Simón, y á Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en la mar; porque eran pescadores.

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: „Kommt, †folgt mir nach, dann werde ich euch †zu Menschenfischern {werden} machen!“

Y les dijo Jesús: Venid en pos de mí, y haré que seáis pescadores de hombres.

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”

Und sofort ließen sie †ihre Netze †liegen und folgten ihm.

Y luego, dejadas sus redes, le siguieron.

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.

Und nachdem (als) er ein wenig weitergegangen war, sah er Jakobus, den †Sohn von Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes. Auch sie †saßen im Boot †und brachten †ihre Netze in Ordnung (setzten instand, besserten aus, flickten),

Y pasando de allí un poco más adelante, vió á Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y á Juan su hermano, también ellos en el navío, que aderezaban las redes.

And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

und er rief sie umgehend (sofort). Und sie ließen ihren Vater mit den bezahlten Arbeitern im Boot zurück und gingen ihm nach.

Y luego los llamó: y dejando á su padre Zebedeo en el barco con los jornaleros, fueron en pos de él.

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

Und (daraufhin) sie begaben sich nach Kafarnaum {hinein}. {Und} Dann , †am Sabbat, begann er in der Synagoge (begab er sich in die Synagoge und begann) zu lehren .

Y entraron en Capernaum; y luego los sábados, entrando en la sinagoga, enseñaba.

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.

Und sie waren tief beeindruckt von seiner Lehre, denn er lehrte sie wie einer, der Vollmacht hat, und nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten.

Y se admiraban de su doctrina; porque les enseñaba como quien tiene potestad, y no como los escribas.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

Und dann (plötzlich) war in der dortigen Synagoge ein Mann mit einem unreinen Geist , und er schrie:

Y había en la sinagoga de ellos un hombre con espíritu inmundo, el cual dió voces,

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

{sagend} „Was willst du von uns, Jesus von Nazaret ? Bist du gekommen, †um uns zu vernichten? Ich weiß, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes !“

Diciendo: ¡Ah! ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús Nazareno? ¿Has venido á destruirnos? Sé quién eres, el Santo de Dios.

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”

Und Jesus wies ihn an (unterwarf ihn seiner Kontrolle) {sagend}: „Sei still (Schweig, Verstumme) und komm (verlass, fahre) aus ihm heraus!“

Y Jesús le riñó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

Und nachdem (während) der unreine Geist ihn geschüttelt und †mit lauter Stimme geschrien hatte, kam (verließ, fuhr) er aus ihm heraus.

Y el espíritu inmundo, haciéndole pedazos, y clamando á gran voz, salió de él.

And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

Und alle waren so entgeistert (erstaunt, erschrocken), dass sie einander fragten {wobei sie sagten}: „Was ist das? Eine neue Lehre mit Vollmacht – sogar (selbst, und) den unreinen Geistern befiehlt er, und sie gehorchen ihm!“

Y todos se maravillaron, de tal manera que inquirían entre sí, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta, que con potestad aun á los espíritus inmundos manda, y le obedecen?

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What can this new doctrine be? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”

Und bald (rasch) verbreitete sich die Kunde von ihm (sein Ruf) überall in der ganzen Umgebung, †in ganz Galiläa (im ganzen Umland von Galiläa) .

Y vino luego su fama por toda la provincia alrededor de Galilea.

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

The report of him went out immediately into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.

Und dann verließen sie {aus} die Synagoge und gingen (begaben sich, kamen) zum (in das) Haus von Simon und Andreas mit Jakobus und Johannes.

Y luego saliendo de la sinagoga, vinieron á casa de Simón y de Andrés, con Jacobo y Juan.

And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Simons Schwiegermutter {aber} lag mit Fieber †im Bett , und sie erzählten (berichteten) ihm gleich von ihr.

Y la suegra de Simón estaba acostada con calentura; y le hablaron luego de ella.

But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.

Da (Und) ging er zu †ihr und half ihr beim Aufstehen (richtete sie auf), indem er ihre Hand nahm (ergriff) . Da (und) verließ das Fieber sie, und sie begann, sie zu bewirten (bedienen, dienen; bewirtete sie) .

Entonces llegando él, la tomó de su mano y la levantó; y luego la dejó la calentura, y les servía.

And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately, and she served them.

Als es Abend geworden (wurde) und die Sonne untergegangen war (unterging), brachte man alle Kranken (denen es schlecht ging) und †alle Besessenen zu ihm,

Y cuando fué la tarde, luego que el sol se puso, traían á él todos los que tenían mal, y endemoniados;

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons.

und die ganze Stadt war vor der Tür versammelt.

Y toda la ciudad se juntó á la puerta.

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

All the city was gathered together at the door.

Und er heilte viele Kranke (denen es schlecht ging) von verschiedenen Krankheiten und trieb viele Dämonen aus, aber (und) die Dämonen ließ er nicht sprechen, weil sie ihn kannten.

Y sanó á muchos que estaban enfermos de diversas enfermedades, y echó fuera muchos demonios; y no dejaba decir á los demonios que le conocían.

And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

Und früh morgens, †als es noch ganz dunkel †war, stand er auf, ging hinaus (verließ †das Haus (die Stadt)) und ging fort an einen abgeschiedenen Ort, wo er †eine Zeit lang betete (und betete dort) .

Y levantándose muy de mañana, aun muy de noche, salió y se fué á un lugar desierto, y allí oraba.

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.

Und Simon und †jene, die bei ihm waren, spürten (eilten) ihm nach

Y le siguió Simón, y los que estaban con él;

And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

Simon and those who were with him searched for him.

und fanden ihn. {und} Sie teilten ihm mit (sagten) {dass}: „Alle fragen (suchen, forschen) nach dir!“

Y hallándole, le dicen: Todos te buscan.

And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

{und} Er entgegnete (sagte) ihnen: „Gehen wir stattdessen (lasst uns gehen) anderswohin, in die benachbarten Ortschaften (Dörfer), damit ich auch dort predigen (verkündigen) †kann. Zu diesem Zweck (Dazu) bin ich nämlich aus †der Stadt gekommen (bin gekommen, ausgezogen) .“

Y les dice: Vamos á los lugares vecinos, para que predique también allí; porque para esto he venido.

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”

Und er zog (kam; war) durch ganz Galiläa, predigte (verkündigte) in ihren Synagogen und trieb die Dämonen aus.

Y predicaba en las sinagogas de ellos en toda Galilea, y echaba fuera los demonios.

And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

Und ein Aussätziger (Leprakranker) kam zu ihm, der ihn anflehte und auf die Knie fiel , wobei er ihm zurief (sagte) {dass}: „Wenn du willst, kannst du mich rein machen (heilen)!“

Y un leproso vino á él, rogándole; é hincada la rodilla, le dice: Si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”

Und †Jesus hatte Mitleid (wurde zornig), darum streckte er seine Hand aus , berührte †ihn und sagte zu ihm: „Ich will, sei rein (gereinigt, geheilt)!“

Y Jesús, teniendo misericordia de él, extendió su mano, y le tocó, y le dice: Quiero, sé limpio.

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”

Und sofort verschwand (ging weg) der Aussatz (die Lepra) von ihm, und er wurde rein (gereinigt, geheilt).

Y así que hubo él hablado, la lepra se fué luego de aquél, y fué limpio.

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean.

Und er ermahnte ihn streng (fuhr ihn an, wies ihn zurecht; bedeutete ihm zu schweigen) , schickte ihn ohne Umschweife (sofort) weg (warf ihn hinaus)

Entonces le apercibió, y despidióle luego,

And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out,

und sagte zu ihm: „Sieh, dass du niemandem etwas erzählst (sagst), sondern geh †und zeige dich dem Priester und dann bringe für deine Reinigung (Heilung) †das Opfer dar, das Mose vorgeschrieben (festgelegt) hat, als Beweis (Nachweis, Zeugnis, Beleg) †für (gegen) sie !“

Y le dice: Mira, no digas á nadie nada; sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu limpieza lo que Moisés mandó, para testimonio á ellos.

And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

Doch als (nachdem) der †Mann hinausging, begann er eifrig (überall; viele Dinge) †davon zu erzählen (predigen, verkündigen) und die Geschichte (Nachricht, das Wort) zu verbreiten, so dass †Jesus nicht länger in der Lage war, offen (unerkannt, öffentlich, ohne Aufsehen) eine Stadt zu betreten, sondern sich außerhalb in unbewohnten (abgelegenen) Gegenden (Orten) aufhielt (blieb, war) . Dennoch (doch, und) kamen †die Leute weiter (begannen zu kommen) von überall her (aus allen Richtungen) zu ihm.

Mas él salido, comenzó á publicarlo mucho, y á divulgar el hecho, de manera que ya Jesús no podía entrar manifiestamente en la ciudad, sino que estaba fuera en los lugares desiertos; y venían á él de todas partes.

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.
