1Und er fing abermals an, zu lehren am Meer. Und es versammelte sich viel Volks zu ihm, also daß er mußte in ein Schiff treten und auf dem Wasser sitzen; und alles Volk stand auf dem Lande am Meer.
2Und er predigte ihnen lange durch Gleichnisse; und in seiner Predigt sprach er zu ihnen:
3Höret zu! Siehe, es ging ein Sämann aus, zu säen.
4Und es begab sich, indem er säte, fiel etliches an den Weg; da kamen die Vögel unter dem Himmel und fraßen's auf.
5Etliches fiel in das Steinige, wo es nicht viel Erde hatte; und ging bald auf, darum daß es nicht tiefe Erde hatte.
6Da nun die Sonne aufging, verwelkte es, und dieweil es nicht Wurzel hatte verdorrte es.
7Und etliches fiel unter die Dornen; und die Dornen wuchsen empor und erstickten's, und es brachte keine Frucht.
8Und etliches fiel auf ein gutes Land und brachte Frucht, die da zunahm und wuchs; etliches trug dreißigfältig und etliches sechzigfältig und etliches hundertfältig.
9Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wer Ohren hat, zu hören, der höre!
10Und da er allein war, fragten ihn um dies Gleichnis, die um ihn waren, mitsamt den Zwölfen.
11Und er sprach zu ihnen: Euch ist's gegeben, das Geheimnis des Reiches Gottes zu wissen; denen aber draußen widerfährt es alles nur durch Gleichnisse,
12auf daß sie es mit sehenden Augen sehen, und doch nicht erkennen, und mit hörenden Ohren hören, und doch nicht verstehen, auf daß sie sich nicht dermaleinst bekehren und ihre Sünden ihnen vergeben werden.
13Und er sprach zu ihnen: Verstehet ihr dies Gleichnis nicht, wie wollt ihr denn die andern alle verstehen?
14Der Sämann sät das Wort.
15Diese sind's aber, die an dem Wege sind: Wo das Wort gesät wird und sie es gehört haben, so kommt alsbald der Satan und nimmt weg das Wort, das in ihr Herz gesät war.
16Also auch die sind's, bei welchen aufs Steinige gesät ist: wenn sie das Wort gehört haben, nehmen sie es alsbald mit Freuden auf,
17und haben keine Wurzel in sich, sondern sind wetterwendisch; wenn sich Trübsal oder Verfolgung um des Wortes willen erhebt, so ärgern sie sich alsbald.
18Und diese sind's, bei welchen unter die Dornen gesät ist: die das Wort hören,
19und die Sorgen dieser Welt und der betrügerische Reichtum und viele andere Lüste gehen hinein und ersticken das Wort, und es bleibt ohne Frucht.
20Und diese sind's, bei welchen auf ein gutes Land gesät ist: die das Wort hören und nehmen's an und bringen Frucht, etliche dreißigfältig und etliche sechzigfältig und etliche hundertfältig.
21Und er sprach zu ihnen: Zündet man auch ein Licht an, daß man es unter einen Scheffel oder unter einen Tisch setze? Mitnichten, sondern daß man's auf einen Leuchter setze.
22Denn es ist nichts verborgen, das es nicht offenbar werde, und ist nichts Heimliches, das nicht hervorkomme.
23Wer Ohren hat, zu hören, der höre!
24Und er sprach zu ihnen: Sehet zu, was ihr höret! Mit welcherlei Maß ihr messet, wird man euch wieder messen, und man wird noch zugeben euch, die ihr dies hört.
25Denn wer da hat, dem wird gegeben; und wer nicht hat, von dem wird man nehmen, auch was er hat.
26Und er sprach: Das Reich Gottes hat sich also, als wenn ein Mensch Samen aufs Land wirft
27und schläft und steht auf Nacht und Tag; und der Same geht auf und wächst, daß er's nicht weiß.
28Denn die Erde bringt von selbst zum ersten das Gras, darnach die Ähren, darnach den vollen Weizen in den Ähren.
29Wenn sie aber die Frucht gebracht hat, so schickt er bald die Sichel hin; denn die Ernte ist da.
30Und er sprach: Wem wollen wir das Reich Gottes vergleichen, und durch welch Gleichnis wollen wir es vorbilden?
31Gleichwie ein Senfkorn, wenn das gesät wird aufs Land, so ist's das kleinste unter allen Samen auf Erden;
32und wenn es gesät ist, so nimmt es zu und wird größer denn alle Kohlkräuter und gewinnt große Zweige, also daß die Vögel unter dem Himmel unter seinem Schatten wohnen können.
33Und durch viele solche Gleichnisse sagte er ihnen das Wort, nach dem sie es hören konnten.
34Und ohne Gleichnis redete er nichts zu ihnen; aber insonderheit legte er's seinen Jüngern alles aus.
35Und an demselben Tage des Abends sprach er zu ihnen: Laßt uns hinüberfahren.
36Und sie ließen das Volk gehen und nahmen ihn, wie er im Schiff war; und es waren mehr Schiffe bei ihm.
37Und es erhob sich ein großer Windwirbel und warf Wellen in das Schiff, also daß das Schiff voll ward.
38Und er war hinten auf dem Schiff und schlief auf einem Kissen. Und sie weckten ihn auf und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, fragst du nichts darnach, daß wir verderben?
39Und er stand auf und bedrohte den Wind und sprach zu dem Meer: Schweig und verstumme! Und der Wind legte sich, und es ward eine große Stille.
40Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wie seid ihr so furchtsam? Wie, daß ihr keinen Glauben habt?
41Und sie fürchteten sich sehr und sprachen untereinander: Wer ist der? denn Wind und Meer sind ihm gehorsam.

1Y OTRA vez comenzó á enseñar junto á la mar, y se juntó á él mucha gente; tanto, que entrándose él en un barco, se sentó en la mar: y toda la gente estaba en tierra junto á la mar.
2Y les enseñaba por parábolas muchas cosas, y les decía en su doctrina:
3Oid: He aquí, el sembrador salió á sembrar.
4Y aconteció sembrando, que una parte cayó junto al camino; y vinieron las aves del cielo, y la tragaron.
5Y otra parte cayó en pedregales, donde no tenía mucha tierra; y luego salió, porque no tenía la tierra profunda:
6Mas salido el sol, se quemó; y por cuanto no tenía raíz, se secó.
7Y otra parte cayó en espinas; y subieron las espinas, y la ahogaron, y no dió fruto.
8Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y dió fruto, que subió y creció: y llevó uno á treinta, y otro á sesenta, y otro á ciento.
9Entonces les dijo: El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
10Y cuando estuvo solo, le preguntaron los que estaban cerca de él con los doce, sobre la parábola.
11Y les dijo: A vosotros es dado saber el misterio del reino de Dios; mas á los que están fuera, por parábolas todas las cosas;
12Para que viendo, vean y no echen de ver; y oyendo, oigan y no entiendan: porque no se conviertan, y les sean perdonados los pecados.
13Y les dijo: ¿No sabéis esta parábola? ¿Cómo, pues, entenderéis todas las parábolas?
14El que siembra es el que siembra la palabra.
15Y éstos son los de junto al camino: en los que la palabra es sembrada: mas después que la oyeron, luego viene Satanás, y quita la palabra que fué sembrada en sus corazones.
16Y asimismo éstos son los que son sembrados en pedregales: los que cuando han oído la palabra, luego la toman con gozo;
17Mas no tienen raíz en sí, antes son temporales, que en levantándose la tribulación ó la persecución por causa de la palabra, luego se escandalizan.
18Y éstos son los que son sembrados entre espinas: los que oyen la palabra;
19Mas los cuidados de este siglo, y el engaño de las riquezas, y las codicias que hay en las otras cosas, entrando, ahogan la palabra, y se hace infructuosa.
20Y éstos son los que fueron sembrados en buena tierra: los que oyen la palabra, y la reciben, y hacen fruto, uno á treinta, otro á sesenta, y otro á ciento.
21También les dijo: ¿Tráese la antorcha para ser puesta debajo del almud, ó debajo de la cama? ¿No es para ser puesta en el candelero?
22Porque no hay nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado, ni secreto que no haya de descubrirse.
23Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
24Les dijo también: Mirad lo que oís: con la medida que medís, os medirán otros, y será añadido á vosotros los que oís.
25Porque al que tiene, le será dado; y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
26Decía más: Así es el reino de Dios, como si un hombre echa simiente en la tierra;
27Y duerme, y se levanta de noche y de día, y la simiente brota y crece como él no sabe.
28Porque de suyo fructifica la tierra, primero hierba, luego espiga, después grano lleno en la espiga;
29Y cuando el fruto fuere producido, luego se mete la hoz, porque la siega es llegada.
30Y decía: ¿A qué haremos semejante el reino de Dios? ¿ó con qué parábola le compararemos?
31Es como el grano de mostaza, que, cuando se siembra en tierra, es la más pequeña de todas las simientes que hay en la tierra;
32Mas después de sembrado, sube, y se hace la mayor de todas las legumbres, y echa grandes ramas, de tal manera que las aves del cielo puedan morar bajo su sombra.
33Y con muchas tales parábolas les hablaba la palabra, conforme á lo que podían oir.
34Y sin parábola no les hablaba; mas á sus discípulos en particular declaraba todo.
35Y les dijo aquel día cuando fué tarde: Pasemos de la otra parte.
36Y despachando la multitud, le tomaron como estaba, en el barco; y había también con él otros barquitos.
37Y se levantó una grande tempestad de viento, y echaba las olas en el barco, de tal manera que ya se henchía.
38Y él estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal, y le despertaron, y le dicen: ¿Maestro, no tienes cuidado que perecemos?
39Y levantándose, increpó al viento, y dijo á la mar: Calla, enmudece. Y cesó el viento, y fué hecha grande bonanza.
40Y á ellos dijo: ¿Por qué estáis así amedrentados? ¿Cómo no tenéis fe?
41Y temieron con gran temor, y decían el uno al otro. ¿Quién es éste, que aun el viento y la mar le obedecen?

1And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
2And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
3Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14The sower soweth the word.
15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
21And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
30And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
33And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
35And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
World English Bible
1Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea.
2He taught them many things in parables, and told them in his teaching,
3“Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow.
4As he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds came and devoured it.
5Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil.
6When the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8Others fell into the good ground and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some produced thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much.”
9He said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”
10When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.
11He said to them, “To you is given the mystery of God’s Kingdom, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables,
12that ‘seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand, lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’”
13He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?
14The farmer sows the word.
15The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.
16These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy.
17They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.
18Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word,
19and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
20Those which were sown on the good ground are those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit, some thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times.”
21He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn’t it put on a stand?
22For there is nothing hidden except that it should be made known, neither was anything made secret but that it should come to light.
23If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.”
24He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you; and more will be given to you who hear.
25For whoever has, to him more will be given; and he who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.”
26He said, “God’s Kingdom is as if a man should cast seed on the earth,
27and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, though he doesn’t know how.
28For the earth bears fruit by itself: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
29But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
30He said, “How will we liken God’s Kingdom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it?

34Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.
35On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side.”
36Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him.
37A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.
38He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and asked him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?”
39He awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased and there was a great calm.
40He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?”
41They were greatly afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
