Sie kamen dann an das jenseitige Ufer des Sees in das Gebiet der Gerasener.

And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

Als er dort aus dem Boot gestiegen war, lief ihm sogleich von den Gräbern her ein Mann entgegen, der von einem unreinen Geist besessen war.

Y salido él del barco, luego le salió al encuentro, de los sepulcros, un hombre con un espíritu inmundo,

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

Er hatte seinen Aufenthalt in den Gräbern, und niemand vermochte ihn zu fesseln, auch nicht mit einer Kette;

Que tenía domicilio en los sepulcros, y ni aun con cadenas le podía alguien atar;

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

He lived in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,

denn man hatte ihn schon oft mit Fußfesseln und Ketten gebunden, aber er hatte die Ketten immer wieder zerrissen und die Fußfesseln zerrieben, und niemand war stark genug, ihn zu überwältigen.

Porque muchas veces había sido atado con grillos y cadenas, mas las cadenas habían sido hechas pedazos por él, y los grillos desmenuzados; y nadie le podía domar.

Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

Er hielt sich allezeit, bei Tag und bei Nacht, in den Gräbern und auf den Bergen auf, schrie laut und zerschlug sich mit Steinen.

Y siempre, de día y de noche, andaba dando voces en los montes y en los sepulcros, é hiriéndose con las piedras.

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

Als er nun Jesus von weitem sah, kam er herzugelaufen, warf sich vor ihm nieder

Y como vió á Jesús de lejos, corrió, y le adoró.

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,

und stieß laut schreiend die Worte aus: »Was willst du von mir, Jesus, du Sohn Gottes, des Höchsten? Ich beschwöre dich bei Gott: quäle mich nicht!«

Y clamando á gran voz, dijo: ¿Qué tienes conmigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te conjuro por Dios que no me atormentes.

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

and crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don’t torment me.”

Jesus war nämlich im Begriff, ihm zu gebieten: »Fahre aus, du unreiner Geist, aus dem Manne!«

Porque le decía: Sal de este hombre, espíritu inmundo.

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

For he said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”

Da fragte Jesus ihn: »Wie heißt du?« Er antwortete ihm: »Legion heiße ich, denn wir sind unser viele.«

Y le preguntó: ¿Cómo te llamas? Y respondió diciendo: Legión me llamo; porque somos muchos.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

He asked him, “What is your name?” He said to him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

Dann bat er ihn inständig, er möchte sie nicht aus der Gegend verweisen.

Y le rogaba mucho que no le enviase fuera de aquella provincia.

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Nun befand sich dort am Berge eine große Herde Schweine auf der Weide.

Y estaba allí cerca del monte una grande manada de puercos paciendo.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.

Da baten sie ihn: »Schicke uns in die Schweine! Laß uns in sie fahren!«

Y le rogaron todos los demonios, diciendo: Envíanos á los puercos para que entremos en ellos.

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

All the demons begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them.”

Das erlaubte Jesus ihnen auch, und so fuhren denn die unreinen Geister aus und fuhren in die Schweine hinein; und die Herde stürmte den Abhang hinab in den See hinein, etwa zweitausend Tiere, und sie ertranken im See.

Y luego Jesús se lo permitió. Y saliendo aquellos espíritus inmundos, entraron en los puercos, y la manada cayó por un despeñadero en la mar; los cuales eran como dos mil; y en la mar se ahogaron.

And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.

Ihre Hirten aber ergriffen die Flucht und berichteten den Vorfall in der Stadt und in den Gehöften; da kamen die Leute, um zu sehen, was geschehen war.

Y los que apacentaban los puercos huyeron, y dieron aviso en la ciudad y en los campos. Y salieron para ver qué era aquello que había acontecido.

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

Those who fed the pigs fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.

Als sie nun zu Jesus gekommen waren, sahen sie den (früher) Besessenen ruhig dasitzen, bekleidet und ganz vernünftig, ihn, der die Legion (unreiner Geister) in sich gehabt hatte, und sie gerieten darüber in Furcht.

Y vienen á Jesús, y ven al que había sido atormentado del demonio, y que había tenido la legión, sentado y vestido, y en su juicio cabal; y tuvieron miedo.

And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

Die Augenzeugen erzählten ihnen nun, was mit dem Besessenen vorgegangen war, und auch die Begebenheit mit den Schweinen.

Y les contaron los que lo habían visto, cómo había acontecido al que había tenido el demonio, y lo de los puercos.

And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

Those who saw it declared to them what happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.

Da verlegten sie sich aufs Bitten, er möchte ihr Gebiet verlassen.

Y comenzaron á rogarle que se fuese de los términos de ellos.

And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

They began to beg him to depart from their region.

Als er dann ins Boot steigen wollte, bat ihn der (früher) Besessene, bei ihm bleiben zu dürfen;

Y entrando él en el barco, le rogaba el que había sido fatigado del demonio, para estar con él.

And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.

doch Jesus gestattete es ihm nicht, sondern sagte zu ihm: »Gehe heim in dein Haus zu deinen Angehörigen und berichte ihnen, wie Großes der Herr an dir getan und wie er sich deiner erbarmt hat!«

Mas Jesús no le permitió, sino le dijo: Vete á tu casa, á los tuyos, y cuéntales cuán grandes cosas el Señor ha hecho contigo, y cómo ha tenido misericordia de ti.

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

He didn’t allow him, but said to him, “Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he had mercy on you.”

Da ging er weg und begann in der Landschaft der Zehn-Städte zu verkündigen, wie Großes Jesus an ihm getan hatte; und alle verwunderten sich darüber.

Y se fué, y comenzó á publicar en Decápolis cuán grandes cosas Jesús había hecho con él: y todos se maravillaban.

And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.

Als Jesus dann im Boot wieder an das jenseitige Ufer hinübergefahren war, sammelte sich eine große Volksmenge bei ihm, während er sich noch am See befand.

Y pasando otra vez Jesús en un barco á la otra parte, se juntó á él gran compañía; y estaba junto á la mar.

And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.

Da kam einer von den Vorstehern der Synagoge namens Jairus, und als er Jesus erblickte, warf er sich vor ihm nieder

Y vino uno de los príncipes de la sinagoga, llamado Jairo; y luego que le vió, se postró á sus pies,

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet

und bat ihn inständig mit den Worten: »Mein Töchterlein ist todkrank; komm doch und lege ihr die Hände auf, damit sie gerettet wird und am Leben bleibt!«

Y le rogaba mucho, diciendo: Mi hija está á la muerte: ven y pondrás las manos sobre ella para que sea salva, y vivirá.

And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

and begged him much, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live.”

Da ging Jesus mit ihm; es folgte ihm aber eine große Volksmenge und umdrängte ihn.

Y fué con él, y le seguía gran compañía, y le apretaban.

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.

Nun war da eine Frau, die schon zwölf Jahre lang am Blutfluß gelitten

Y una mujer que estaba con flujo de sangre doce años hacía,

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

A certain woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years,

und mit vielen Ärzten viel durchgemacht und ihr ganzes Vermögen dabei zugesetzt hatte, ohne Nutzen davon gehabt zu haben – es war vielmehr immer noch schlimmer mit ihr geworden –;

Y había sufrido mucho de muchos médicos, y había gastado todo lo que tenía, y nada había aprovechado, antes le iba peor,

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,

die hatte von Jesus gehört und kam nun in der Volksmenge von hinten herzu und faßte seinen Rock;

Como oyó hablar de Jesús, llegó por detrás entre la compañía, y tocó su vestido.

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd and touched his clothes.

sie dachte nämlich: »Wenn ich auch nur seine Kleider anfasse, so wird mir geholfen sein.«

Porque decía: Si tocare tan solamente su vestido, seré salva.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.”

Und sogleich hörte ihr Blutfluß auf, und sie spürte in ihrem Körper, daß sie von ihrem Leiden geheilt war.

Y luego la fuente de su sangre se secó; y sintió en el cuerpo que estaba sana de aquel azote.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

Da nun auch Jesus sogleich die Empfindung in sich hatte, daß die Heilungskraft von ihm ausgegangen war, wandte er sich in der Volksmenge um und fragte: »Wer hat meine Kleider angefaßt?«

Y luego Jesús, conociendo en sí mismo la virtud que había salido de él, volviéndose á la compañía, dijo: ¿Quién ha tocado mis vestidos?

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

Da sagten seine Jünger zu ihm: »Du siehst doch, wie sehr die Volksmenge dich umdrängt, und da fragst du: ›Wer hat mich angefaßt?‹«

Y le dijeron sus discípulos: Ves que la multitud te aprieta, y dices: ¿Quién me ha tocado?

And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

His disciples said to him, “You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

Doch er blickte rings um sich nach der, die es getan hatte.

Y él miraba alrededor para ver á la que había hecho esto.

And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

Da kam die Frau voller Angst und zitternd herbei, weil sie wohl wußte, was mit ihr vorgegangen war, warf sich vor ihm nieder und bekannte ihm die ganze Wahrheit.

Entonces la mujer, temiendo y temblando, sabiendo lo que en sí había sido hecho, vino y se postró delante de él, y le dijo toda la verdad.

But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Er aber sagte zu ihr: »Meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dich gerettet: gehe hin in Frieden und sei von deinem Leiden geheilt!«

Y él le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha hecho salva: ve en paz, y queda sana de tu azote.

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”

Während er noch redete, kamen Leute aus dem Hause des Synagogenvorstehers mit der Meldung: »Deine Tochter ist gestorben: was bemühst du den Meister noch?«

Hablando aún él, vinieron de casa del príncipe de la sinagoga, diciendo: Tu hija es muerta; ¿para qué fatigas más al Maestro?

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house, saying, “Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?”

Jesus aber ließ die Nachricht, die da gemeldet wurde, unbeachtet und sagte zu dem Synagogenvorsteher: »Fürchte dich nicht, glaube nur!«

Mas luego Jesús, oyendo esta razón que se decía, dijo al príncipe de la sinagoga: No temas, cree solamente.

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

Und er ließ niemand mit sich gehen außer Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes, den Bruders des Jakobus.

Y no permitió que alguno viniese tras él sino Pedro, y Jacobo, y Juan hermano de Jacobo.

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

So kamen sie zum Hause des Synagogenvorstehers, wo er das Getümmel wahrnahm und wie sie weinten und laut wehklagten.

Y vino á casa del príncipe de la sinagoga, y vió el alboroto, los que lloraban y gemían mucho.

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

He came to the synagogue ruler’s house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.

Als er dann eingetreten war, sagte er zu den Leuten: »Wozu lärmt und weint ihr? Das Kind ist nicht tot, sondern schläft nur!«

Y entrando, les dice: ¿Por qué alborotáis y lloráis? La muchacha no es muerta, mas duerme.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

When he had entered in, he said to them, “Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”

Da verlachten sie ihn. Er aber entfernte alle aus dem Hause, nahm nur den Vater des Kindes nebst der Mutter und seine Jünger, die ihn begleiteten, mit sich und ging (in das Zimmer) hinein, wo das Kind lag.

Y hacían burla de él: mas él, echados fuera todos, toma al padre y á la madre de la muchacha, y á los que estaban con él, y entra donde la muchacha estaba.

And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.

Dann faßte er das Kind bei der Hand und sagte zu ihm: »Talitha kumi!«, was übersetzt heißt: »Mädchen, ich sage dir: stehe auf!«

Y tomando la mano de la muchacha, le dice: Talitha cumi; que es, si lo interpretares: Muchacha, á ti digo, levántate.

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha cumi!” which means, being interpreted, “Girl, I tell you, get up!”

Da stand das Mädchen sogleich auf und ging umher; denn sie war zwölf Jahre alt. Da gerieten sie sofort vor Staunen ganz außer sich.

Y luego la muchacha se levantó, y andaba; porque tenía doce años. Y se espantaron de grande espanto.

And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.

Er gebot ihnen dann ernstlich, niemand solle etwas von dem Geschehenen erfahren, und ordnete an, man möge ihr zu essen geben.

Mas él les mandó mucho que nadie lo supiese, y dijo que le diesen de comer.

And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.
