Y se fue de allí, y vino a su tierra; y sus discípulos fueron con él.

Y SALIÓ de allí, y vino á su tierra, y le siguieron sus discípulos.

And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

Y cuando llegó el día del sábado, estaba enseñando en la sinagoga; y varias personas que lo escuchaban se sorprendieron y dijeron: ¿De dónde sacó este hombre estas cosas? y, ¿Cuál es la sabiduría dada a este hombre, y cuáles son estas obras de poder hechas por sus manos?

Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?

¿No es este el carpintero, el hijo de María, el hermano de Jacobo, José, Judas y Simón? y no son sus hermanas aquí con nosotros? Y ellos se ofendieron con el y no le hicieron caso.

¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.

Y Jesús les dijo: Un profeta es honrado en todas partes, pero no en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su familia.

Mas Jesús les decía: No hay profeta deshonrado sino en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su casa.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”

Y no pudo hacer ninguna obra de poder allí, sino solo poner sus manos sobre una o dos personas que estaban enfermas, y sanarlas.

Y no pudo hacer allí alguna maravilla; solamente sanó unos pocos enfermos, poniendo sobre ellos las manos.

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Y se sorprendió mucho porque no tenían fe. Y recorrió los lugares del país enseñando.

Y estaba maravillado de la incredulidad de ellos. Y rodeaba las aldeas de alrededor, enseñando.

And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Y dio órdenes a los doce, y los envió de dos en dos; y él les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos;

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

Y dijo que no debían llevar nada para su viaje, sino solo un palo; sin pan, sin bolsa, sin dinero en sus bolsillos;

And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

Debían ir con zapatos comunes en sus pies, y no llevar dos abrigos.

Mas que calzasen sandalias, y no vistiesen dos túnicas.

But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

Y él les dijo: Dondequiera que vayas a una casa, haz de eso tu lugar de descanso hasta que te vayas.

Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Y en cualquier lugar que no te acoja y no te escuche, cuando te vayas, quita el polvo de tus pies como testigo en contra de ellos.

Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Y salieron, predicando la necesidad de un cambio de corazón en los hombres.

Y saliendo, predicaban que los hombres se arrepintiesen.

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Y echaban fuera muchos espíritus malos, y pusieron aceite sobre gran número de enfermos, y los sanaban.

And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

Y el rey Herodes tuvo noticias de él, porque su nombre estaba en los labios de todos; y él dijo: Juan el Bautista ha vuelto de entre los muertos, y por esta razón estos poderes están obrando en él.

Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Pero otros dijeron: Es Elías. Y otros dijeron: Es un profeta, como uno de los profetas.

Otros decían: Elías es. Y otros decían: Profeta es, ó alguno de los profetas.

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”

Pero Herodes, cuando tuvo noticias de esto, dijo: Juan, a quien yo di muerte, ha vuelto de entre los muertos.

Y oyéndolo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Porque Herodes había enviado hombres para tomar a Juan y ponerlo en la cárcel, a causa de Herodías, la esposa de su hermano Felipe, a quien él se había llevado.

Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.

Porque Juan dijo a Herodes: Es malo para ti tener a la mujer de tu hermano.

Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Y Herodías le tenía coraje por eso, y quiso matarlo; pero ella no pudo;

Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Porque Herodes temía a Juan, siendo consciente de que era un hombre recto y santo, y lo mantenía a salvo. Y al escucharlo, él estaba muy preocupado; y le oyó con gusto.

Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

Y llegó la oportunidad cuando Herodes el día de su cumpleaños dio una fiesta a sus amos, a los altos capitanes y a los principales de Galilea;

Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

Y cuando la hija de Herodías en persona entró y bailó, Herodes y los que estaban a la mesa con él se complacieron con ella; y el rey le dijo a la muchacha: Haz una petición para cualquier cosa y yo te la daré.

Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Entonces juró, y le dijo: Cualquiera que sea tu deseo, yo te lo daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

Y ella salió y le dijo a su madre: ¿Que es lo que debo pedir? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan el Bautista.

Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Y ella entró rápidamente al rey, y dijo: Mi deseo es que me des, ahora mismo, en un plato, la cabeza de Juan el Bautista.

Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Y el rey estaba muy triste; pero debido a sus juramentos, y a los que estaban con él en la mesa, él no le dijo 'No' a ella.

Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Y al instante el rey envió a uno de sus hombres armados, y le ordenó que regresara con la cabeza; y él fue y le cortó la cabeza a Juan en la cárcel,

Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Y volvió con la cabeza en un plato, y la dio a la muchacha; y la muchacha se lo dio a su madre.

El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajo su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

Y cuando sus discípulos tenían noticias de esto, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y se lo llevaron a enterrar.

Y oyéndolo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Y los doce se juntaron a Jesús; y le dieron cuenta de todas las cosas que habían hecho, y todo lo que habían estado enseñando.

And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

Y él les dijo: Vengan ustedes solos a un lugar tranquilo, y descansen por un tiempo. Porque había un gran número de personas yendo y viniendo, y no tenían tiempo ni siquiera para comer.

Y él les dijo: Venid vosotros aparte al lugar desierto, y reposad un poco. Porque eran muchos los que iban y venían, que ni aun tenían lugar de comer.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Y solo ellos se fueron en la barca a un lugar desolado.

Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

Y el pueblo los vio partir, y algunos de ellos, sabiendo quiénes eran, fueron corriendo juntos de todas las ciudades, y llegaron allí delante de ellos.

Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Y él salió, y vio una gran multitud, y tuvo lástima de ellos, porque eran como ovejas sin dueño; y les dio enseñanza acerca de varias cosas.

Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

Y al final del día, sus discípulos se le acercaron y le dijeron: Este lugar es un desierto, y es tarde:

Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

Envíalos, para que vayan al campo y a las pequeñas ciudades de alrededor, y consigan algunos comida para ellos.

Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”

Pero él les respondió: Denles de comer ustedes. Y ellos le dijeron: ¿Tenemos que ir a buscar pan por doscientos denarios, y dárselos?

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles de comer vosotros. Y le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Y él les dijo: ¿Cuánto pan tienes? ve y mira. Y cuando lo vieron, dijeron: Cinco tortas de pan y dos pescados.

Y él les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id, y vedlo. Y sabiéndolo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

Y él hizo que todos estuvieran sentados en grupos sobre la hierba verde.

Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar á todos por partidas sobre la hierba verde.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

Y fueron colocados en grupos, por cientos y por cincuenta.

Y se recostaron por partidas, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.

Y tomó los cinco panes y los dos pescados, y mirando al cielo, pronunció palabras de bendición sobre ellos; y cuando partió los panes se los dio a sus discípulos, para que los presentaran a la gente; e hizo división de los dos peces entre todos ellos.

Y tomados los cinco panes y los dos peces, mirando al cielo, bendijo, y partió los panes, y dió á sus discípulos para que los pusiesen delante: y repartió á todos los dos peces.

And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.

Y todos comieron a llenar y sobró.

Y comieron todos, y se hartaron.

And they did all eat, and were filled.

Y todavía llenaron doce canastas llenas de los pedazos rotos y de los peces.

Y alzaron de los pedazos doce cofines llenos, y de los peces.

And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

Y los que comieron del pan fueron cinco mil hombres.

And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.

Y enseguida hizo subir a sus discípulos a la barca, y fueron delante de él al otro lado de Betsaida, mientras él mismo despedía al pueblo.

Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Después de despedirlos, subió a la montaña a orar.

Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Y a la tarde, la barca estaba en medio del mar, y él solo en la tierra.

Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Y viendo que tenían problemas para llevar su barco por el agua, porque el viento estaba contra ellos, como a la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino a ellos, caminando sobre el mar; y él les hizo pensar que pasaría de largo;

Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,

Pero ellos, cuando lo vieron caminar sobre el mar, lo tomaron por espíritu, y dieron un fuerte grito:

Y viéndole ellos, que andaba sobre la mar, pensaron que era fantasma, y dieron voces;

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

Porque todos lo vieron, y se turbaron. Pero enseguida les dijo: “Todo está bien, soy yo, no tengan miedo”.

Porque todos le veían, y se turbaron. Mas luego habló con ellos, y les dijo: Alentaos; yo soy, no temáis.

For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

Y él fue a ellos en la barca, y el viento se calmó, y estaban super asustados y maravillados;

Y subió á ellos en el barco, y calmó el viento: y ellos en gran manera estaban fuera de sí, y se maravillaban:

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;

Porque su mente cerrada no les permitía ver quién era él o el milagro que había pasado; porque sus corazones estaban endurecidos.

Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Y cuando hubieron cruzado, llegaron a Genesaret, y tomaron su barco y anclaron.

Y cuando estuvieron de la otra parte, vinieron á tierra de Genezaret, y tomaron puerto.

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.

Cuando salieron del bote, la gente rápidamente tuvo noticias de él,

Y saliendo ellos del barco, luego le conocieron.

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,

Y corrieron por todo la región y alrededores, y tomaron en sus camillas a los que estaban enfermos, a donde se dijo que estaba.

Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Y a donde quiera que iba, a ciudades pequeñas, o ciudades grandes, o aldeas, tomaban a los enfermos por los lugares del mercado, rogándole que les dejara tocar aunque sea la orilla de su manto, y todos aquellos que lo tocaban quedaban sanos.

Y donde quiera que entraba, en aldeas, ó ciudades, ó heredades, ponían en las calles á los que estaban enfermos, y le rogaban que tocasen siquiera el borde de su vestido; y todos los que le tocaban quedaban sanos.

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

Wherever he entered—into villages, or into cities, or into the country—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
