Und er berief die Zwölfe und hub an und sandte sie je zwei und zwei und gab ihnen Macht über die unsauberen Geister.

Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?

sondern wären geschuhet, und daß sie nicht zwei Röcke anzögen.

¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.

Und sprach zu ihnen: Wo ihr in ein Haus gehen werdet, da bleibet innen, bis ihr von dannen ziehet.

Mas Jesús les decía: No hay profeta deshonrado sino en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su casa.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Und welche euch nicht aufnehmen noch hören, da gehet von dannen heraus und schüttelt den Staub ab von euren Füßen zu einem Zeugnis über sie. Ich sage euch: Wahrlich, es wird Sodom und Gomorra am Jüngsten Gerichte erträglicher ergehen denn solcher Stadt.

Y no pudo hacer allí alguna maravilla; solamente sanó unos pocos enfermos, poniendo sobre ellos las manos.

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Und es kam vor den König Herodes (denn sein Name war nun bekannt); und er sprach: Johannes der Täufer ist von den Toten auferstanden; darum tut er solche Taten.

Y les mandó que no llevasen nada para el camino, sino solamente báculo; no alforja, ni pan, ni dinero en la bolsa;

And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

Etliche aber sprachen: Er ist Elia; etliche aber: Er ist ein Prophet oder einer von den Propheten.

Da es aber Herodes hörete, sprach er: Es ist Johannes, den ich enthauptet habe; der ist von den Toten auferstanden.

Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Er aber, Herodes, hatte ausgesandt und Johannes gegriffen und ins Gefängnis gelegt um der Herodias willen, seines Bruders Philippus Weib; denn er hatte sie gefreiet.

Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Johannes aber sprach zu Herodes: Es ist nicht recht, daß du deines Bruders Weib habest.

Y saliendo, predicaban que los hombres se arrepintiesen.

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Herodias aber stellete ihm nach und wollte ihn töten und konnte nicht.

Herodes aber fürchtete Johannes; denn er wußte, daß er ein frommer und heiliger Mann war; und verwahrete ihn und gehorchte ihm in vielen Sachen und hörete ihn gerne.

Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Und es kam ein gelegener Tag, daß Herodes auf seinen Jahrstag ein Abendmahl gab den Obersten und Hauptleuten und Vornehmsten in Galiläa.

Otros decían: Elías es. Y otros decían: Profeta es, ó alguno de los profetas.

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”

Da trat hinein die Tochter der Herodias und tanzete, und gefiel wohl dem Herodes und denen, die am Tisch saßen. Da sprach der König zum Mägdlein: Bitte von mir, was du willst; ich will dir's geben.

Y oyéndolo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Und schwur ihr einen Eid: Was du wirst von mir bitten, will ich dir geben, bis an die Hälfte meines Königreichs.

Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

Sie ging hinaus und sprach zu ihrer Mutter: Was soll ich bitten? Die sprach: Das Haupt Johannes des Täufers.

Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

Und sie ging bald hinein mit Eile zum Könige, bat und sprach: Ich will, daß du mir gebest jetzt sobald auf einer Schüssel das Haupt Johannes des Täufers.

Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Der König ward betrübt; doch um des Eides willen und derer, die am Tische saßen, wollte er sie nicht lassen eine Fehlbitte tun.

Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

Und bald schickte hin der König den Henker und hieß sein Haupt herbringen. Der ging hin und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis.

Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

Und trug her sein Haupt auf einer Schüssel und gab's dem Mägdlein, und das Mägdlein gab's ihrer Mutter.

Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Und da das seine Jünger höreten, kamen sie und nahmen seinen Leib und legten ihn in ein Grab.

Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

Und die Apostel kamen zu Jesu zusammen und verkündigten ihm das alles, und was sie getan und gelehret hatten.

Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Lasset uns besonders in eine Wüste gehen und ruhet ein wenig. Denn ihrer war viel, die ab und zu gingen, und hatten nicht Zeit genug zu essen.

Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Und er fuhr da in einem Schiff zu einer Wüste besonders.

Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Und das Volk sah sie wegfahren, und viele kannten ihn und liefen daselbst hin miteinander zu Fuß aus allen Städten und kamen ihnen zuvor und kamen zu ihm.

Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Und Jesus ging heraus und sah das große Volk; und es jammerte ihn derselben, denn sie waren wie die Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben; und fing an eine lange Predigt.

El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajo su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

Da nun der Tag fast dahin war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: Es ist wüste hier, und der Tag ist nun dahin.

Y oyéndolo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Laß sie von dir, daß sie hingehen umher in die Dörfer und Märkte und kaufen sich Brot; denn sie haben nicht zu essen.

Y él les dijo: Venid vosotros aparte al lugar desierto, y reposad un poco. Porque eran muchos los que iban y venían, que ni aun tenían lugar de comer.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wieviel Brote habt ihr? Gehet hin und sehet! Und da sie es erkundet hatten, sprachen sie: Fünf und zwei Fische.

Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

Und er gebot ihnen, daß sie sich alle lagerten bei Tischen voll auf das grüne Gras.

Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Und sie setzten sich nach Schichten, je hundert und hundert, fünfzig und fünfzig.

Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

Und er nahm die fünf Brote und zwei Fische und sah auf gen Himmel und dankete und brach die Brote und gab sie den Jüngern, daß sie ihnen vorlegten; und die zwei Fische teilete er unter sie alle.

Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

Und sie aßen alle und wurden satt.

Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”

Und sie huben auf die Brocken, zwölf Körbe voll, und von den Fischen.

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles de comer vosotros. Y le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Und die da gegessen hatten, der waren fünftausend Mann.

Y él les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id, y vedlo. Y sabiéndolo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

Und alsbald trieb er seine Jünger, daß sie in das Schiff träten und vor ihm hinüberführen gen Bethsaida, bis daß er das Volk von sich ließe.

Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar á todos por partidas sobre la hierba verde.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

Und da er sie von sich geschafft hatte, ging er hin auf einen Berg, zu beten.

Y se recostaron por partidas, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

Und am Abend war das Schiff mitten auf dem Meer und er auf dem Lande alleine.

And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

Und er sah, daß sie Not litten im Rudern; denn der Wind war ihnen entgegen. Und um die vierte Wache der Nacht kam er zu ihnen und wandelte auf dem Meer.

Und er wollte vor ihnen übergehen. Und da sie ihn sahen auf dem Meer wandeln, meineten sie, es wäre ein Gespenst, und schrieen.

Denn sie sahen ihn alle und erschraken. Aber alsbald redete er mit ihnen und sprach zu ihnen: Seid getrost; ich bin's fürchtet euch nicht!

Y los que comieron eran cinco mil hombres.

And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

Und trat zu ihnen ins Schiff, und der Wind legte sich. Und sie entsetzten sich und verwunderten sich über die Maßen.

Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Denn sie waren nichts verständiger worden über den Broten, und ihr Herz war erstarret.

Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Und da sie hinübergefahren waren, kamen sie in das Land Genezareth und fuhren an.

Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Und da sie aus dem Schiff traten, alsbald kannten sie ihn

Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,

und liefen alle in die umliegenden Länder und huben an, die Kranken umherzuführen auf Betten, wo sie höreten, daß er war.

Y viéndole ellos, que andaba sobre la mar, pensaron que era fantasma, y dieron voces;

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

Und wo er in die Märkte oder Städte oder Dörfer einging, da legten sie die Kranken auf den Markt und baten ihn, daß sie nur den Saum seines Kleides an rühren möchten. Und alle, die ihn anrühreten, wurden gesund.

Porque todos le veían, y se turbaron. Mas luego habló con ellos, y les dijo: Alentaos; yo soy, no temáis.

For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

Und es kamen zu ihm die Pharisäer und etliche von den Schriftgelehrten, die von Jerusalem kommen waren.

Y subió á ellos en el barco, y calmó el viento: y ellos en gran manera estaban fuera de sí, y se maravillaban:

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;

Und da sie sahen etliche seiner Jünger mit gemeinen, das ist, mit ungewaschenen Händen das Brot essen, versprachen sie es.

Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Denn die Pharisäer und alle Juden essen nicht, sie waschen denn die Hände manchmal; halten also die Aufsätze der Ältesten.

Y cuando estuvieron de la otra parte, vinieron á tierra de Genezaret, y tomaron puerto.

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.

Und wenn sie vom Markt kommen, essen sie nicht, sie waschen sich denn. Und des Dings ist viel, das sie zu halten haben angenommen, von Trinkgefäßen und Krügen und ehernen Gefäßen und Tischen zu waschen.

Y saliendo ellos del barco, luego le conocieron.

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

Da fragten ihn nun die Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrten: Warum wandeln deine Jünger nicht nach den Aufsätzen der Ältesten, sondern essen das Brot mit ungewaschenen Händen?

Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Wohl fein hat von euch Heuchlern Jesaja geweissagt, wie geschrieben steht: Dies Volk ehret mich mit den Lippen, aber ihr Herz ist ferne von mir.
