Und er ging von dort weg und begab sich (kam) in seine Heimat (Heimatstadt) , wobei (und) seine Jünger ihn begleiteten (ihm folgten).

And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

Und als †der Sabbat gekommen (geworden) war, begann er, in der Synagoge zu lehren (lehrte er) , und viele, die zuhörten, waren überwältigt (überrascht, erstaunt, außer sich) und sagten : „Wo †hat er das her, und was †ist die Weisheit, die ihm gegeben wurde – und (und †wie kommt es, dass) solche Wunder (Wunderkräfte), die durch seine Hände geschehen !

Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?

Ist das nicht der Zimmermann (Handwerker, Baumeister), der Sohn von Maria und der Bruder von Jakobus und Joses, {und} Judas und Simon? Und leben (sind) seine Schwestern nicht hier bei uns?“ Und sie lehnten ihn ab (ärgerten sich über, nahmen Anstoß an).

¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: „Ein Prophet ist nirgends (nicht) ohne Ansehen (Ehre), außer in seiner Heimat (Heimatstadt), {und} bei seinen Verwandten und in seiner Familie (Haus, Haushalt).“

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

dabei jedoch (sondern) Sandalen zu tragen , „und zieht keine zwei Unterhemden an!“

Und er sagte zu ihnen: „Wo ihr in ein Haus eintretet (einkehrt, hineingeht), †da bleibt dort, bis ihr {von dort} †wieder aufbrecht (weggeht).

Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Und nimmt man euch an einem Ort nicht auf und hört euch auch nicht zu, dann schüttelt beim Aufbruch (geht von dort weg und) den Staub von euren Schuhsohlen ab, als Zeugenaussage (Beweis, Zeichen, Zeugnis) †gegen (für) sie!“

Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Und sie machten sich auf den Weg (gingen los) und predigten (verkündigten), {dass} †die Menschen sollten umkehren (Buße tun).

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Und König Herodes hörte †von Jesus , denn sein Name (Ruf, Ansehen) war bekannt geworden, und †die Leute meinten (sagten): „Johannes der Täufer ist von †den Toten auferweckt worden. Das erklärt, warum die Wunderkräfte durch ihn (in ihm) wirken!“

Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Andere sagten dagegen (und): „Er ist Elija“ , und wieder andere meinten (sagten): „Ein Prophet wie einer der †alten Propheten.“

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

Als Herodes †das hörte, glaubte (sagte, rief) er : „Der, den ich enthauptet habe, Johannes, ist auferweckt worden!“

Y oyéndolo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Herodes selbst hatte Johannes nämlich gefangen nehmen und ihn im Gefängnis festgehalten (gefesselt ins Gefängnis †werfen) lassen . †Das tat er wegen Herodias, der Frau seines Bruders Philippus, weil er sie geheiratet hatte.

Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

Johannes hatte nämlich †wiederholt zu Herodes gesagt : „Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, die Frau deines Bruders zu haben!“

Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Aber Herodias nahm ihm †das übel und plante (wollte) , ihn zu töten, hatte aber (und) lange keine Gelegenheit dazu (es gelang ihr nicht) .

Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Denn Herodes respektierte (fürchtete) Johannes, weil er wusste, †dass er ein gerechter und heiliger Mann †war, und er beschützte ihn (hielt ihn in Haft) , und wenn er ihm zuhörte (zugehört hatte), war er immer wieder (jedes Mal) stark verunsichert (ratlos, verwirrt, verlegen), aber (und) er hörte ihm gerne zu.

Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

Und als ein günstiger Tag kam, als Herodes †anlässlich seines Geburtstages für seine Würdenträger (Hofbeamten), {und} die Offiziere (Hauptleute) und Galiläas angesehenste Bürger ein Festmahl veranstaltete,

Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

und als die Tochter eben jener Herodias (seine Tochter Herodias) hereinkam und tanzte, gefiel †sie Herodes und seinen Tischgästen (denen, die mit †ihm aßen/†zu Tisch lagen) . Der König sagte zu dem Mädchen : „Bitte (wünsche, verlange) mich, was auch immer du willst, und ich werde †es dir geben!“

Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Und er schwor ihr (schwor ihr mehrmals/eindringlich) : „Worum du mich auch bittest (wünscht, verlangst), ich werde es dir geben, bis zur Hälfte meines Reiches!“

Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

Und sie ging hinaus und fragte (sagte zu) ihre Mutter: „Was soll ich mir wünschen (bitten, verlangen)?“, und sie sagte: „Den Kopf von Johannes dem Täufer!“

Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Und sofort ging sie eilig †wieder hinein zum König und verlangte (bat †ihn) {sagend}: „Ich will, dass du mir umgehend den Kopf von Johannes dem Täufer auf einer Schale (Teller) gibst!“

Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Und der König wurde sehr traurig, aber wegen seiner Schwüre und der Gäste (†zu Tisch Liegenden) wollte er sie nicht abweisen.

Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Also schickte der König einen Henker und ordnete an, seinen Kopf herzubringen. Und er ging los und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis,

Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

dann (und) brachte er seinen Kopf auf einer Schale †herein und gab ihn dem Mädchen, und das Mädchen gab ihn ihrer Mutter.

El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajo su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

Und als seine Jünger †davon erfuhren (hörten), kamen sie, {und} holten seinen Leichnam ab und legten ihn in ein Grab.

Y oyéndolo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Und die Apostel (ausgesandten †Jünger) kamen bei Jesus zusammen und berichteten ihm alles, was sie getan und was sie gelehrt hatten.

Und er sagte zu ihnen: „Kommt ''ihr'' doch ganz allein †mit mir an einen abgelegenen Ort und ruht euch ein wenig aus!“ Denn es waren viele, die kamen und gingen, und sie fanden nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Und sie fuhren (brachen auf) mit (in) dem Boot an einen einsamen Ort, ganz allein .

Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

Allerdings (und) sahen †die Leute, wie sie losfuhren (aufbrachen), und viele erkannten †ihre Absicht (sie) (erfuhren †davon) , und zu Fuß liefen sie aus allen Städten zusammen und kamen (liefen voraus) vor ihnen an ihrem Zielort (dort) an.

Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Und als er ausstieg, sah er eine große Menschenmenge, und er empfand Mitleid mit ihnen, weil sie wie Schafe waren, die keinen Hirten haben, und er begann, sie vieles (lange) zu lehren.

Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

Und als (weil) die Stunde schon spät geworden war, kamen seine Jünger zu ihm und sagten: „Diese Gegend (Ort) ist abgelegen und die Stunde ist schon spät –

Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

verabschiede (schick weg, entlasse) †die Leute †doch, damit sie zu den umliegenden Bauernhöfen und Dörfern gehen und sich etwas zu essen kaufen †können.“

Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Und er sagte zu ihnen: „Wie viele Brote habt ihr? Geht †und schaut nach!“ Und nachdem sie †es festgestellt hatten, sagten sie: „Fünf, und zwei Fische.“

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

Daraufhin (Und) wies er sie an (veranlasste er), †dafür zu sorgen, dass sich alle in Gruppen auf das grüne Gras setzten.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.

Und alle aßen und wurden satt,

Und kurze Zeit später (gleich danach) nötigte er seine Jünger, in das Boot zu steigen und an das andere (gegenüberliegende) Ufer nach (Richtung) Betsaida vorauszufahren, während er selbst die Menschenmenge verabschieden wollte .

Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Und nachdem er sich von ihnen verabschiedet hatte, ging er weg auf den Berg, †um zu beten.

Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Und als es Abend geworden war, befand sich (war) das Boot mitten auf dem Meer (See), und er allein an Land.

Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Und weil (als) er sah, dass sie sich beim Vorwärtskommen (Rudern) quälten, denn der Wind war {ihnen} widrig (†wehte ihnen entgegen), da kam er um die vierte Nachtwache in ihre Richtung, indem er auf dem Meer lief. Dabei (und) wollte er an ihnen vorbeigehen.

Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,

Und als sie ihn auf dem Meer (See) laufen sahen, meinten sie, dass es ein Gespenst sei, und schrien auf (fingen an zu schreien) .

Y viéndole ellos, que andaba sobre la mar, pensaron que era fantasma, y dieron voces;

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

Denn alle sahen ihn und erschraken . Doch er begann sofort mit ihnen zu reden . {und} Er sagte zu ihnen: „Keine Angst! (Beruhigt euch!, Habt Vertrauen!) Ich bin †es, fürchtet euch nicht!“

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

Sie verstanden (hatten verstanden) nämlich nicht, was es mit den Broten auf sich hatte , sondern ihr Herz war verstockt (verhärtet) .

Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Und wo er auch hinging, in Dörfer, {oder} in Städte oder in Bauernhöfe , legten sie die Kranken auf die Marktplätze und baten ihn darum, {dass} auch nur die Quaste (den Saum) seines Gewandes berühren †zu dürfen. Und alle, die ihn berührten, wurden geheilt.

Y donde quiera que entraba, en aldeas, ó ciudades, ó heredades, ponían en las calles á los que estaban enfermos, y le rogaban que tocasen siquiera el borde de su vestido; y todos los que le tocaban quedaban sanos.

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

Wherever he entered—into villages, or into cities, or into the country—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
