Und er zog von dannen und kam in seine Vaterstadt; und seine Jünger folgten ihm nach.

Y SALIÓ de allí, y vino á su tierra, y le siguieron sus discípulos.

And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

Und als der Sabbat kam, fing er an in der Synagoge zu lehren; und die vielen, die zuhörten, erstaunten und sprachen: Woher kommt diesem solches? Und was ist das für eine Weisheit, die ihm gegeben ist, und geschehen solche Taten durch seine Hände?

Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?

Ist er nicht der Zimmermann, der Sohn der Maria, der Bruder des Jakobus und Joses und Judas und Simon? Und sind nicht seine Schwestern hier bei uns? Und sie nahmen Anstoß an ihm.

¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.

Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ein Prophet ist nirgends verachtet außer in seiner Vaterstadt und bei seinen Verwandten und in seinem Hause.

Mas Jesús les decía: No hay profeta deshonrado sino en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su casa.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Und er konnte daselbst kein Wunder tun, außer daß er wenigen Kranken die Hände auflegte und sie heilte.

Y no pudo hacer allí alguna maravilla; solamente sanó unos pocos enfermos, poniendo sobre ellos las manos.

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Und er verwunderte sich wegen ihres Unglaubens und zog durch die Dörfer ringsumher und lehrte.

Und er befahl ihnen, sie sollten nichts auf den Weg nehmen als nur einen Stab, keine Tasche, kein Brot, kein Geld im Gürtel,

And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

sondern nur Sandalen an den Füßen tragen und nicht zwei Röcke anziehen.

Mas que calzasen sandalias, y no vistiesen dos túnicas.

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wo ihr in ein Haus eintretet, da bleibet, bis ihr von dannen ziehet.

Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Und wenn ein Ort euch nicht aufnimmt und man euch nicht hören will, da zieht von dannen und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen, ihnen zum Zeugnis.

Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Und sie gingen und predigten, man solle Buße tun,

Y saliendo, predicaban que los hombres se arrepintiesen.

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

und trieben viele Dämonen aus und salbten viele Kranke mit Öl und heilten sie.

Y echaban fuera muchos demonios, y ungían con aceite á muchos enfermos, y sanaban.

Und der König Herodes hörte das (denn sein Name ward bekannt), und er sprach: Johannes der Täufer ist von den Toten auferstanden; darum wirken die Wunderkräfte durch ihn!

Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Andere aber sprachen: Es ist Elia; wieder andere: Es ist ein Prophet oder wie einer der Propheten.

Otros decían: Elías es. Y otros decían: Profeta es, ó alguno de los profetas.

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”

Da es also Herodes hörte, sprach er: Es ist Johannes, den ich enthauptet habe; der ist †von den Toten auferstanden!

Y oyéndolo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Denn er, Herodes, hatte ausgesandt und Johannes greifen und ihn im Gefängnis binden lassen, wegen Herodias, des Weibes seines Bruders Philippus, weil er sie zur Frau genommen hatte.

Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.

Denn Johannes hatte zu Herodes gesagt: Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, deines Bruders Weib zu haben!

Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Herodias aber stellte ihm nach und wollte ihn töten, und sie vermochte es nicht.

Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Denn Herodes fürchtete den Johannes, weil er wußte, daß er ein gerechter und heiliger Mann war, und er bewachte ihn und gehorchte ihm in manchem und hörte ihn gern.

Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

Als aber ein gelegener Tag kam, da Herodes seinen Großen und Obersten und den Vornehmsten des galiläischen Landes an seinem Geburtstag ein Gastmahl gab,

Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

da trat die Tochter der Herodias herein und tanzte. Das gefiel dem Herodes und denen, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen. Da sprach der König zu dem Mädchen: Erbitte von mir, was du willst, so will ich es dir geben!

Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Und er schwur ihr: Was du auch von mir erbitten wirst, das will ich dir geben, bis zur Hälfte meines Königreichs.

Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

Da ging sie hinaus und sprach zu ihrer Mutter: Was soll ich erbitten? Diese aber sprach: Das Haupt Johannes des Täufers!

Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Und alsbald ging sie eilends zum König hinein, bat und sprach: Ich will, daß du mir gäbest jetzt gleich auf einer Schüssel das Haupt Johannes des Täufers!

Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Da ward der König sehr betrübt; doch um des Eides und um derer willen, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen, wollte er sie nicht abweisen.

Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Und der König schickte alsbald einen von der Wache hin und befahl, sein Haupt zu bringen.

Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Dieser ging hin und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis und brachte sein Haupt auf einer Schüssel und gab es dem Mädchen, und das Mädchen gab es seiner Mutter.

El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajo su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

Und als seine Jünger es hörten, kamen sie und nahmen seinen Leichnam und legten ihn in ein Grab.

Y oyéndolo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Und die Apostel versammelten sich bei Jesus und verkündigten ihm alles, was sie getan und gelehrt hatten.

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Kommet ihr allein abseits an einen einsamen Ort und ruhet ein wenig! Denn es waren viele, die ab und zugingen, und sie hatten nicht einmal Zeit zu essen.

Y él les dijo: Venid vosotros aparte al lugar desierto, y reposad un poco. Porque eran muchos los que iban y venían, que ni aun tenían lugar de comer.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Und sie fuhren allein zu Schiff an einen einsamen Ort.

Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

Und viele sahen sie wegfahren und merkten es; und sie liefen aus allen Städten zu Fuß dort zusammen und kamen ihnen zuvor.

Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Und als Jesus ausstieg, sah er eine große Menge Volks und hatte Erbarmen mit ihnen; denn sie waren wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben; und er fing an, sie vieles zu lehren.

Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

Und als nun der Tag fast dahin war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sagten: Dieser Ort ist öde, und der Tag ist fast dahin.

Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

Entlasse sie, damit sie in die Gehöfte und Dörfer ringsumher gehen und sich Brot kaufen; denn sie haben nichts zu essen.

Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”

Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Gebet ihr ihnen zu essen! Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Sollen wir hingehen und für zweihundert Denare Brot kaufen und ihnen zu essen geben?

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles de comer vosotros. Y le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wie viele Brote habt ihr? Gehet hin und sehet! Und als sie es erkundigt hatten, sprachen sie: Fünf, und zwei Fische.

Y él les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id, y vedlo. Y sabiéndolo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

Und er befahl ihnen, daß sich alle nach Tischgesellschaften ins grüne Gras setzen sollten.

Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar á todos por partidas sobre la hierba verde.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

Und sie setzten sich gruppenweise, zu hundert und zu fünfzig.

Y se recostaron por partidas, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

Und er nahm die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische, blickte zum Himmel empor und dankte, brach die Brote und gab sie seinen Jüngern, damit sie sie ihnen vorlegten; auch die zwei Fische teilte er unter alle.

And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

Und sie aßen alle und wurden satt.

And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

Und die, welche die Brote gegessen hatten, waren fünftausend Männer.

Y los que comieron eran cinco mil hombres.

And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

Und alsbald nötigte er seine Jünger, in das Schiff zu steigen und vor ihm ans jenseitige Ufer, nach Bethsaida, voraus zu fahren, bis er das Volk entlassen hätte.

Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Und nachdem er sie verabschiedet hatte, ging er auf einen Berg, um zu beten.

Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Und als es Abend geworden, war das Schiff mitten auf dem Meere und er allein auf dem Lande.

Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Und er sah, daß sie beim Rudern Not litten; denn der Wind war ihnen entgegen. Und um die vierte Nachtwache kommt er zu ihnen, auf dem Meere wandelnd; und er wollte bei ihnen vorübergehen.

Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,

Als sie ihn aber auf dem Meere wandeln sahen, meinten sie, es sei ein Gespenst, und schrieen.

Y viéndole ellos, que andaba sobre la mar, pensaron que era fantasma, y dieron voces;

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

Denn sie sahen ihn alle und erschraken. Er aber redete alsbald mit ihnen und sprach: Seid getrost! Ich bin's; fürchtet euch nicht!

Porque todos le veían, y se turbaron. Mas luego habló con ellos, y les dijo: Alentaos; yo soy, no temáis.

For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

Und er stieg zu ihnen in das Schiff, und der Wind legte sich. Und sie erstaunten bei sich selbst über die Maßen und verwunderten sich.

Y subió á ellos en el barco, y calmó el viento: y ellos en gran manera estaban fuera de sí, y se maravillaban:

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;

Denn sie waren nicht verständig geworden durch die Brote; denn ihr Herz war verhärtet.

Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Und sie fuhren hinüber ans Land, kamen nach Genezareth und landeten dort.

Y cuando estuvieron de la otra parte, vinieron á tierra de Genezaret, y tomaron puerto.

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.

Und als sie aus dem Schiffe traten, erkannten die Leute ihn alsbald,

Y saliendo ellos del barco, luego le conocieron.

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,

durchliefen die ganze umliegende Landschaft und fingen an, die Kranken auf den Betten dorthin zu tragen, wo sie hörten, daß er sei.

Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Und wo er in Dörfer oder Städte oder Gehöfte einkehrte, da legten sie die Kranken auf die freien Plätze und baten ihn, daß sie nur den Saum seines Kleides anrühren dürften. Und so viele ihn anrührten, die wurden gesund.
