1Entonces se reunieron con él los fariseos y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalén.
2Al ver que algunos de sus discípulos comían el pan con las manos impuras, es decir, sin lavar, se quejaron.
3(Porque los fariseos y todos los judíos no comen si no se lavan las manos y los antebrazos, siguiendo la tradición de los ancianos.
4No comen cuando vienen de la plaza si no se bañan, y hay otras muchas cosas que han recibido para aferrarse a ellas: lavados de copas, cántaros, vasos de bronce y camillas).
5Los fariseos y los escribas le preguntaron: “¿Por qué sus discípulos no andan según la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen el pan con las manos sin lavar?”
6Les respondió: “Bien profetizó Isaías de ustedes, hipócritas, como está escrito: ‘Este pueblo me honra con sus labios, pero su corazón está lejos de mí.
7Me adoran en vano, enseñando como doctrinas los mandamientos de los hombres.’”
8“Porque dejan de lado el mandamiento de Dios, y se aferran a la tradición de los hombres: el lavado de los cántaros y de las copas, y hacen otras muchas cosas semejantes.”
9Él les dijo: “Bien rechazan el mandamiento de Dios para mantener su tradición.
10Porque Moisés dijo: ‘Honra a tu padre y a tu madre,’ y ‘El que hable mal del padre o de la madre, que muera’.
11Pero ustedes dicen: ‘Si un hombre dice a su padre o a su madre: Cualquier beneficio que hayas recibido de mí es corbán’ (es decir, una ofrenda entregada a Dios),
12entonces ya no le permiten hacer nada por su padre o por su madre,
13anulando la palabra de Dios por su tradición que han transmitido. Ustedes hacen muchas cosas así”.
14Llamó a toda la multitud y les dijo: “Óiganme todos y entiendan.
15Nada de lo que sale del hombre puede contaminarle; pero lo que sale del hombre es lo que le contamina.
16Si alguien tiene oídos para oír, que oiga”.
17Cuando entró en una casa lejos de la multitud, sus discípulos le preguntaron por la parábola.
18Él les dijo: “¿También ustedes están sin entendimiento? ¿No se dan cuenta de que todo lo que entra en el hombre desde fuera no puede contaminarlo,
19porque no entra en su corazón, sino en su estómago, y luego en la letrina, con lo que todos los alimentos quedan limpios?”
20Él dijo: “Lo que sale del hombre, eso contamina al hombre.
21Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, los pecados sexuales, los asesinatos, los robos,
22las codicias, la maldad, el engaño, los deseos lujuriosos, la envidia, la blasfemia, la soberbia y la necedad.
23Todas estas cosas malas salen de dentro y contaminan al hombre”.
24De allí se levantó y se fue a los límites de Tiro y Sidón. Entró en una casa y no quiso que nadie lo supiera, pero no pudo pasar desapercibido.
25Porque una mujer cuya hija pequeña tenía un espíritu impuro, al oír hablar de él, vino y se postró a sus pies.
26La mujer era griega, de raza sirofenicia. Le rogó que expulsara el demonio de su hija.
27Pero Jesús le dijo: “Dejen que se sacien primero los niños, porque no conviene tomar el pan de los niños y echarlo a los perritos.”
28Pero ella le respondió: “Sí, Señor. Pero hasta los perritos que están debajo de la mesa se comen las migajas de los niños”.
29Le dijo: “Por este dicho, vete. El demonio ha salido de tu hija”.
30Se fue a su casa y encontró a la niña acostada en la cama, con el demonio fuera.
31Volvió a salir de los límites de Tiro y Sidón, y llegó al mar de Galilea por el centro de la región de Decápolis.
32Le trajeron a uno que era sordo y tenía un impedimento para hablar. Le rogaron que le pusiera la mano encima.
33Lo apartó de la multitud en privado y le metió los dedos en los oídos, y escupiendo le tocó la lengua.
34Mirando al cielo, suspiró y le dijo: “¡Efatá!”, es decir, “¡Ábrete!”.
35Al instante se le abrieron los oídos y se le soltó el impedimento de la lengua, y habló con claridad.
36Les ordenó que no se lo dijeran a nadie, pero cuanto más les ordenaba, tanto más lo proclamaban.
37Ellos se asombraban mucho, diciendo: “Todo lo ha hecho bien. Hace que hasta los sordos oigan y los mudos hablen”.

1Y SE juntaron á él los Fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalem;
2Los cuales, viendo á algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es á saber, no lavadas, los condenaban.
3(Porque los Fariseos y todos los Judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.
4Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y otras muchas cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)
5Y le preguntaron los Fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme á la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos comunes?
6Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
7Y en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
8Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres; las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber: y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
9Les decía también: Bien invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.
10Porque Moisés dijo: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, y: El que maldijere al padre ó á la madre, morirá de muerte.
11Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre ó la madre: Es Corbán (quiere decir, don mío á Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;
12Y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre ó por su madre,
13Invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis: y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes á éstas.
14Y llamando á toda la multitud, les dijo: Oidme todos, y entended:
15Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar: mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.
16Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
17Y apartado de la multitud, habiendo entrado en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobre la parábola.
18Y díjoles: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar;
19Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale á la secreta? Esto decía, haciendo limpias todas las viandas.
20Mas decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.
21Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,
22Los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.
23Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.
24Y levantándose de allí, se fué á los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiese; mas no pudo esconderse.
25Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó á sus pies.
26Y la mujer era Griega, Sirofenisa de nación; y le rogaba que echase fuera de su hija al demonio.
27Mas Jesús le dijo: Deja primero hartarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo á los perrillos.
28Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.
29Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.
30Y como fué á su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y á la hija echada sobre la cama.
31Y volviendo á salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón á la mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.
32Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.
33Y tomándole aparte de la gente, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua;
34Y mirando al cielo, gimió, y le dijo: Ephphatha: que es decir: Sé abierto.
35Y luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fué desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.
36Y les mandó que no lo dijesen á nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.
37Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo: hace á los sordos oir, y á los mudos hablar.

1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
World English Bible
1Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
2Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
3(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
4They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
5The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
6He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
9He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
12“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
13making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
14He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
15There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
16If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
19because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
20He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
21For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
22covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
23All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”

30She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
31Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
32They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
33He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
34Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
35Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
36He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
37They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
