1Et les pharisiens et quelques-uns des scribes, qui étaient venus de Jérusalem, s’assemblent auprès de lui.
2Et voyant quelques-uns de ses disciples mangeant du pain avec des mains souillées, c’est-à-dire non lavées… ;
3car les pharisiens et tous les Juifs ne mangent pas qu’ils ne lavent soigneusement leurs mains, retenant la tradition des anciens ;
4et [étant de retour] du marché, ils ne mangent pas qu’ils ne soient lavés. Et il y a beaucoup d’autres choses qu’ils ont reçues traditionnellement pour les observer, [comme] de laver les coupes, les pots, les vases d’airain, et les lits.
5– Sur cela, les pharisiens et les scribes l’interrogent, [disant] : Pourquoi tes disciples ne marchent-ils pas selon la tradition des anciens, mais mangent-ils du pain avec des mains souillées ?
6Mais lui, répondant, leur dit : Ésaïe a bien prophétisé de vous, hypocrites ; comme il est écrit : « Ce peuple-ci m’honore des lèvres, mais leur cœur est fort éloigné de moi ;
7mais ils m’honorent en vain, enseignant, comme doctrines, des commandements d’hommes ».
8Car, laissant le commandement de Dieu, vous observez la tradition des hommes, de laver les pots et les coupes ; et vous faites beaucoup d’autres choses semblables.
9Et il leur dit : Vous annulez bien le commandement de Dieu, afin de garder votre tradition.
10Car Moïse a dit : « Honore ton père et ta mère » ; et : « que celui qui médira de père ou de mère, meure de mort » ;
11mais vous, vous dites : Si un homme dit à son père ou à sa mère : Tout ce dont tu pourrais tirer profit de ma part est corban, c’est-à-dire don…
12Et vous ne lui permettez plus de rien faire pour son père ou pour sa mère,
13annulant la parole de Dieu par votre tradition que vous vous êtes transmise [les uns aux autres] ; et vous faites beaucoup de choses semblables.
14Et ayant de nouveau appelé la foule, il leur dit : Écoutez-moi, vous tous, et comprenez :
15Il n’y a rien en dehors de l’homme, qui, entrant au-dedans de lui, puisse le souiller ; mais les choses qui sortent de lui, ce sont celles qui souillent l’homme.
16Si quelqu’un a des oreilles pour entendre, qu’il entende.
17Et quand il fut entré dans la maison, [s’étant retiré] d’avec la foule, ses disciples l’interrogèrent touchant cette parabole.
18Et il leur dit : Vous aussi, êtes-vous ainsi sans intelligence ? N’entendez-vous pas que tout ce qui est de dehors, entrant dans l’homme, ne peut pas le souiller,
19parce que cela n’entre pas dans son cœur, mais dans son ventre, et s’en va dans les lieux d’aisances, purifiant toutes les viandes ?
20Et il dit : Ce qui sort de l’homme, c’est là ce qui souille l’homme ;
21car du dedans, du cœur des hommes, sortent les mauvaises pensées, les adultères, les fornications, les meurtres,
22les vols, la cupidité, les méchancetés, la fraude, l’impudicité, l’œil méchant, les injures, l’orgueil, la folie.
23Toutes ces mauvaises choses sortent du dedans et souillent l’homme.
24Et se levant, il s’en alla de là vers les frontières de Tyr et de Sidon ; et étant entré dans une maison, il ne voulait pas que personne le sache : et il ne put être caché ;
25car une femme dont la fille avait un esprit immonde, ayant entendu parler de lui, vint et se jeta à ses pieds ;
26(or la femme était grecque, syrophénicienne de race ;) et elle le pria qu’il chasse le démon hors de sa fille.
27Et Jésus lui dit : Laisse premièrement rassasier les enfants ; car il ne convient pas de prendre le pain des enfants et de le jeter aux chiens.
28Et elle répondit et lui dit : Oui, Seigneur ; car même les chiens, sous la table, mangent des miettes des enfants.
29Et il lui dit : À cause de cette parole, va, le démon est sorti de ta fille.
30Et s’en allant en sa maison, elle trouva le démon sorti, et sa fille couchée sur le lit.
31Et étant de nouveau parti des confins de Tyr et de Sidon, il vint vers la mer de Galilée, à travers le pays de Décapolis.
32Et on lui amène un sourd qui parlait avec peine, et on le prie pour qu’il lui impose la main.
33Et l’ayant tiré à l’écart, hors de la foule, il lui mit les doigts dans les oreilles ; et ayant craché, il lui toucha la langue ;
34et regardant vers le ciel, il soupira, et lui dit : Ephphatha, c’est-à-dire, ouvre-toi.
35Et aussitôt ses oreilles s’ouvrirent, et le lien de sa langue se délia, et il parlait distinctement.
36Et Jésus leur enjoignit de ne le dire à personne ; mais plus il le leur défendait, d’autant plus ils le publiaient.
37Et ils étaient extrêmement étonnés, disant : il fait toutes choses bien ; il fait entendre les sourds et parler les muets.

1Y SE juntaron á él los Fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalem;
2Los cuales, viendo á algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es á saber, no lavadas, los condenaban.
3(Porque los Fariseos y todos los Judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.
4Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y otras muchas cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)
5Y le preguntaron los Fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme á la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos comunes?
6Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
7Y en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
8Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres; las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber: y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
9Les decía también: Bien invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.
10Porque Moisés dijo: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, y: El que maldijere al padre ó á la madre, morirá de muerte.
11Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre ó la madre: Es Corbán (quiere decir, don mío á Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;
12Y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre ó por su madre,
13Invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis: y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes á éstas.
14Y llamando á toda la multitud, les dijo: Oidme todos, y entended:
15Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar: mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.
16Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
17Y apartado de la multitud, habiendo entrado en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobre la parábola.
18Y díjoles: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar;
19Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale á la secreta? Esto decía, haciendo limpias todas las viandas.
20Mas decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.
21Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,
22Los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.
23Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.
24Y levantándose de allí, se fué á los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiese; mas no pudo esconderse.
25Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó á sus pies.
26Y la mujer era Griega, Sirofenisa de nación; y le rogaba que echase fuera de su hija al demonio.
27Mas Jesús le dijo: Deja primero hartarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo á los perrillos.
28Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.
29Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.
30Y como fué á su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y á la hija echada sobre la cama.
31Y volviendo á salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón á la mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.
32Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.
33Y tomándole aparte de la gente, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua;
34Y mirando al cielo, gimió, y le dijo: Ephphatha: que es decir: Sé abierto.
35Y luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fué desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.
36Y les mandó que no lo dijesen á nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.
37Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo: hace á los sordos oir, y á los mudos hablar.

1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
World English Bible
1Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
2Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
3(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
4They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
5The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
6He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
9He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
12“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
13making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
14He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
15There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
16If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
19because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
20He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
21For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
22covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
23All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
24From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.
25For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
26Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
28But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
29He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
30She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
31Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
32They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
33He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
34Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
35Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
36He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
37They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
