1Und es versammeln sich zu ihm die Pharisäer und etliche der Schriftgelehrten, die von Jerusalem gekommen waren;
2und als sie etliche seiner Jünger mit unreinen, das ist ungewaschenen Händen Brot essen sahen
3(denn die Pharisäer und alle Juden essen nicht, es sei denn, daß sie sich sorgfältig die Hände waschen, indem sie die Überlieferung der Ältesten halten;
4und vom Markte kommend, essen sie nicht, es sei denn, daß sie sich waschen; und vieles andere ist, was sie zu halten überkommen haben: Waschungen der Becher und Krüge und ehernen Gefäße und Tischlager),
5[sodann] fragen ihn die Pharisäer und die Schriftgelehrten: Warum wandeln deine Jünger nicht nach der Überlieferung der Ältesten, sondern essen das Brot mit unreinen Händen?
6Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Trefflich hat Jesaias über euch Heuchler geweissagt, wie geschrieben steht: “Dieses Volk ehrt mich mit den Lippen, aber ihr Herz ist weit entfernt von mir.
7Vergeblich aber verehren sie mich, indem sie als Lehren Menschengebote lehren.”
8[Denn] das Gebot Gottes aufgebend, haltet ihr die Überlieferung der Menschen: Waschungen der Krüge und Becher, und vieles andere dergleichen ähnliche tut ihr.
9Und er sprach zu ihnen: Trefflich hebet ihr das Gebot Gottes auf, auf daß ihr eure Überlieferung haltet.
10Denn Moses hat gesagt: “Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter!” und: “Wer Vater oder Mutter flucht, soll des Todes sterben.”
11Ihr aber saget: Wenn ein Mensch zu dem Vater oder zu der Mutter spricht: Korban (das ist Gabe) sei das, was irgend dir von mir zunutze kommen könnte; -
12und ihr lasset ihn so nichts mehr für seinen Vater oder seine Mutter tun,
13indem ihr das Wort Gottes ungültig machet durch eure Überlieferung, die ihr überliefert habt; und vieles dergleichen ähnliche tut ihr.
14Und als er die Volksmenge wieder herzugerufen hatte, sprach er zu ihnen: Höret mich alle und verstehet!
15Da ist nichts, was von außerhalb des Menschen in denselben eingeht, das ihn verunreinigen kann, sondern was von ihm ausgeht, das ist es, was den Menschen verunreinigt.
16Wenn jemand Ohren hat zu hören, der höre!
17Und als er von der Volksmenge weg in ein Haus eintrat, befragten ihn seine Jünger über das Gleichnis.
18Und er spricht zu ihnen: Seid auch ihr so unverständig? Begreifet ihr nicht, daß alles, was von außerhalb in den Menschen eingeht, ihn nicht verunreinigen kann?
19Denn es geht nicht in sein Herz hinein, sondern in den Bauch, und es geht heraus in den Abort, indem so alle Speisen gereinigt werden.
20Er sagte aber: Was aus dem Menschen ausgeht, das verunreinigt den Menschen.
21Denn von innen aus dem Herzen der Menschen gehen hervor die schlechten Gedanken,
22Ehebruch, Hurerei, Mord, Dieberei, Habsucht, Bosheit, List, Ausschweifung, böses Auge, Lästerung, Hochmut, Torheit;
23alle diese bösen Dinge gehen von innen heraus und verunreinigen den Menschen.
24Und er stand auf von dannen und ging hin in das Gebiet von Tyrus und Sidon; und als er in ein Haus getreten war, wollte er, daß niemand es erfahre; und er konnte nicht verborgen sein.
25Aber alsbald hörte ein Weib von ihm, deren Töchterlein einen unreinen Geist hatte, kam und fiel nieder zu seinen Füßen;
26das Weib aber war eine Griechin, eine Syrophönicierin von Geburt; und sie bat ihn, daß er den Dämon von ihrer Tochter austreibe.
27[Jesus] aber sprach zu ihr: Laßt zuerst die Kinder gesättigt werden, denn es ist nicht schön, das Brot der Kinder zu nehmen und den Hündlein hinzuwerfen.
28Sie aber antwortete und spricht zu ihm: Ja, Herr; denn es essen ja auch die Hündlein unter dem Tische von den Brosamen der Kinder.
29Und er sprach zu ihr: Um dieses Wortes willen gehe hin; der Dämon ist von deiner Tochter ausgefahren.
30Und sie ging hin nach ihrem Hause und fand den Dämon ausgefahren und die Tochter auf dem Bette liegen.
31Und als er aus dem Gebiet von Tyrus und Sidon wieder weggegangen war, kam er an den See von Galiläa, mitten durch das Gebiet von Dekapolis.
32Und sie bringen einen Tauben zu ihm, der schwer redete, und bitten ihn, daß er ihm die Hand auflege.
33Und er nahm ihn von der Volksmenge weg besonders und legte seine Finger in seine Ohren; und er spützte und rührte seine Zunge an;
34und, gen Himmel blickend, seufzte er und spricht zu ihm: Ephata! das ist: Werde aufgetan!
35Und alsbald wurden seine Ohren aufgetan, und das Band seiner Zunge wurde gelöst, und er redete recht.
36Und er gebot ihnen, daß sie es niemand sagen sollten. Je mehr er es ihnen aber gebot, desto mehr machten sie es übermäßig kund;
37und sie erstaunten überaus und sprachen: Er hat alles wohlgemacht; er macht sowohl die Tauben hören, als auch die Stummen reden.

1Y SE juntaron á él los Fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalem;
2Los cuales, viendo á algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es á saber, no lavadas, los condenaban.
3(Porque los Fariseos y todos los Judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.
4Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y otras muchas cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)
5Y le preguntaron los Fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme á la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos comunes?
6Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
7Y en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
8Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres; las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber: y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
9Les decía también: Bien invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.
10Porque Moisés dijo: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, y: El que maldijere al padre ó á la madre, morirá de muerte.
11Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre ó la madre: Es Corbán (quiere decir, don mío á Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;
12Y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre ó por su madre,
13Invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis: y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes á éstas.
14Y llamando á toda la multitud, les dijo: Oidme todos, y entended:
15Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar: mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.
16Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
17Y apartado de la multitud, habiendo entrado en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobre la parábola.
18Y díjoles: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar;
19Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale á la secreta? Esto decía, haciendo limpias todas las viandas.
20Mas decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.
21Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,
22Los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.
23Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.
24Y levantándose de allí, se fué á los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiese; mas no pudo esconderse.
25Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó á sus pies.
26Y la mujer era Griega, Sirofenisa de nación; y le rogaba que echase fuera de su hija al demonio.
27Mas Jesús le dijo: Deja primero hartarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo á los perrillos.
28Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.
29Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.
30Y como fué á su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y á la hija echada sobre la cama.
31Y volviendo á salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón á la mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.
32Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.
33Y tomándole aparte de la gente, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua;
34Y mirando al cielo, gimió, y le dijo: Ephphatha: que es decir: Sé abierto.
35Y luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fué desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.
36Y les mandó que no lo dijesen á nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.
37Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo: hace á los sordos oir, y á los mudos hablar.

1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
World English Bible
1Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
2Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
3(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
4They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
5The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
6He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
9He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
12“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
13making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
14He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
15There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
16If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
19because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
20He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
21For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
22covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
23All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
24From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.
25For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
26Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
28But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
29He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
30She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
31Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
32They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
33He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
34Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
35Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
36He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
37They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
