Er antwortete aber und sprach zu ihnen: Elia soil ja zuvor kommen und alles wieder zurechtbringen; dazu des Menschen Sohn soil viel leiden und verachtet werden, wie denn geschrieben stehet.

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Elías á la verdad, viniendo antes, restituirá todas las cosas: y como está escrito del Hijo del hombre, que padezca mucho y sea tenido en nada.

And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

He said to them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?
