Dann fuhr er fort: »Wahrlich ich sage euch: Einige von denen, die hier stehen, werden den Tod nicht schmecken, bis sie das Reich Gottes mit Macht haben kommen sehen.«

TAMBIÉN les dijo: De cierto os digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte hasta que hayan visto el reino de Dios que viene con potencia.

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see God’s Kingdom come with power.”

Sechs Tage später nahm Jesus den Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes mit sich und führte sie abseits auf einen hohen Berg hinauf, wo sie allein waren. Da wurde er vor ihren Augen verwandelt,

Y seis días después tomó Jesús á Pedro, y á Jacobo, y á Juan, y los sacó aparte solos á un monte alto; y fué transfigurado delante de ellos.

And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

und seine Kleider wurden glänzend, ganz weiß, wie sie kein Walker auf Erden so weiß machen kann.

Y sus vestidos se volvieron resplandecientes, muy blancos, como la nieve; tanto que ningún lavador en la tierra los puede hacer tan blancos.

And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.

Und es erschien ihnen Elia mit Mose; die besprachen sich mit Jesus.

Y les apareció Elías con Moisés, que hablaban con Jesús.

And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.

Da sagte Petrus zu Jesus: »Rabbi, hier sind wir gut aufgehoben! Wir wollen hier drei Hütten bauen, eine für dich, eine für Mose und eine für Elia« –

Entonces respondiendo Pedro, dice á Jesús: Maestro, bien será que nos quedemos aquí, y hagamos tres pabellones: para ti uno, y para Moisés otro, y para Elías otro;

And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

Peter answered Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

er wußte nämlich nicht, was er sagen sollte; in solche Furcht waren sie geraten.

Porque no sabía lo que hablaba; que estaban espantados.

For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.

Dann kam eine Wolke, die sie überschattete, und eine Stimme erscholl aus der Wolke: »Dieser ist mein geliebter Sohn: höret auf ihn!«

Y vino una nube que les hizo sombra, y una voz de la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado: á él oid.

And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”

Und mit einemmal, als sie um sich blickten, sahen sie niemand mehr bei sich als Jesus allein.

Y luego, como miraron, no vieron más á nadie consigo, sino á Jesús solo.

And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.

Als sie dann von dem Berge hinabstiegen, gebot er ihnen, sie sollten von dem, was sie gesehen hätten, niemand etwas erzählen, ehe nicht der Menschensohn von den Toten auferstanden wäre.

Y descendiendo ellos del monte, les mandó que á nadie dijesen lo que habían visto, sino cuando el Hijo del hombre hubiese resucitado de los muertos.

And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

Dies Gebot hielten sie dann auch fest, besprachen sich jedoch untereinander darüber, was wohl mit der Auferstehung von den Toten gemeint sei.

Y retuvieron la palabra en sí, altercando qué sería aquéllo: Resucitar de los muertos.

And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.

Hierauf befragten sie ihn: »Die Schriftgelehrten behaupten ja, Elia müsse zuerst kommen.«

Y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Qué es lo que los escribas dicen, que es necesario que Elías venga antes?

And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?

They asked him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

Er antwortete ihnen: »Ja, Elia kommt allerdings zuerst und bringt alles wieder in den rechten Stand. Doch wie kann denn über den Menschensohn geschrieben stehen, daß er vieles leiden und daß er verworfen werden müsse?

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Elías á la verdad, viniendo antes, restituirá todas las cosas: y como está escrito del Hijo del hombre, que padezca mucho y sea tenido en nada.

And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

He said to them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?

Aber ich sage euch: Elia ist wirklich gekommen; doch sie haben ihm angetan, was ihnen beliebte, wie über ihn geschrieben steht.«.

Empero os digo que Elías ya vino, y le hicieron todo lo que quisieron, como está escrito de él.

But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”

Als sie dann zu den (anderen) Jüngern zurückkamen, sahen sie eine große Volksmenge um sie versammelt, auch Schriftgelehrte, die sich mit ihnen besprachen.

Y como vino á los discípulos, vió grande compañía alrededor de ellos, y escribas que disputaban con ellos.

And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.

Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.

Sobald nun die Menge ihn erblickte, gerieten alle in freudige Erregung; sie eilten auf ihn zu und begrüßten ihn.

Y luego toda la gente, viéndole, se espantó, y corriendo á él, le saludaron.

And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him, greeted him.

Er fragte sie nun: »Was habt ihr mit ihnen zu verhandeln?«

Y preguntóles: ¿Qué disputáis con ellos?

And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?

He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?”

Da antwortete ihm einer aus der Menge: »Meister, ich habe meinen Sohn zu dir gebracht, der von einem sprachlosen Geist besessen ist;

Y respondiendo uno de la compañía, dijo: Maestro, traje á ti mi hijo, que tiene un espíritu mudo,

And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;

sooft der ihn packt, reißt er ihn hin und her; dann tritt ihm der Schaum vor den Mund, und er knirscht mit den Zähnen und wird ganz kraftlos. Ich habe deine Jünger gebeten, sie möchten ihn austreiben, doch sie haben es nicht gekonnt.«

El cual, donde quiera que le toma, le despedaza; y echa espumarajos, y cruje los dientes, y se va secando: y dije á tus discípulos que le echasen fuera, y no pudieron.

And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”

Jesus antwortete ihnen mit den Worten: »O ihr ungläubige Art von Menschen! Wie lange soll ich noch bei euch sein? Wie lange soll ich es noch mit euch aushalten? Bringt ihn her zu mir!«

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: ¡Oh generación infiel! ¿hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿hasta cuándo os tengo de sufrir? Traédmele.

He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

Da brachten sie ihn zu ihm. Als nun der Geist ihn erblickte, zog er den Knaben sogleich krampfhaft zusammen, so daß er auf den Boden fiel und sich mit Schaum vor dem Munde wälzte.

Y se le trajeron: y como le vió, luego el espíritu le desgarraba; y cayendo en tierra, se revolcaba, echando espumarajos.

And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

Da fragte Jesus den Vater des Knaben: »Wie lange hat er dies Leiden schon?« Er antwortete: »Von Kindheit an;

Y Jesús preguntó á su padre: ¿Cuánto tiempo há que le aconteció esto? Y él dijo: Desde niño:

And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has been happening to him?” He said, “From childhood.

und oft hat der Geist ihn sogar ins Feuer und ins Wasser gestürzt, um ihn umzubringen. Wenn du es jedoch irgend vermagst, so hilf uns und habe Erbarmen mit uns!«

Y muchas veces le echa en el fuego y en aguas, para matarle; mas, si puedes algo, ayúdanos, teniendo misericordia de nosotros.

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

Jesus antwortete ihm: »Was dein ›Wenn du es vermagst‹ betrifft, so wisse: Alles ist dem möglich, der Glauben hat.«

Y Jesús le dijo: Si puedes creer, al que cree todo es posible.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Sogleich rief der Vater des Knaben laut aus: »Ich glaube: hilf meinem Unglauben!«

Y luego el padre del muchacho dijo clamando: Creo, ayuda mi incredulidad.

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

Als Jesus nun sah, daß immer mehr Leute zusammenliefen, bedrohte er den unreinen Geist mit den Worten: »Du sprachloser und tauber Geist, ich gebiete dir: Fahre von ihm aus und fahre nicht wieder in ihn hinein!«

Y como Jesús vió que la multitud se agolpaba, reprendió al espíritu inmundo, diciéndole: Espíritu mudo y sordo, yo te mando, sal de él, y no entres más en él.

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

Da schrie er laut auf und fuhr unter heftigen Krämpfen aus; und der Knabe lag wie tot da, so daß die meisten sagten: »Er ist gestorben!«

Entonces el espíritu clamando y desgarrándole mucho, salió; y él quedó como muerto, de modo que muchos decían: Está muerto.

And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

After crying out and convulsing him greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead, so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

Jesus aber faßte ihn bei der Hand und richtete ihn in die Höhe: da stand er auf. –

Mas Jesús tomándole de la mano, enderezóle; y se levantó.

But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him up; and he arose.

Als Jesus dann in ein Haus eingetreten war, fragten ihn seine Jünger, während sie mit ihm allein waren: »Warum haben wir den Geist nicht austreiben können?«

Y como él entró en casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron aparte: ¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos echarle fuera?

And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

Er antwortete ihnen: »Diese Art (von bösen Geistern) läßt sich nur durch Gebet austreiben.«

Y les dijo: Este género con nada puede salir, sino con oración y ayuno.

And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.”

Sie zogen dann von dort weiter und wanderten durch Galiläa hin, und er wünschte, daß niemand es erfahren möchte;

Y habiendo salido de allí, caminaron por Galilea; y no quería que nadie lo supiese.

And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

They went out from there and passed through Galilee. He didn’t want anyone to know it,

denn er erteilte seinen Jüngern Unterricht und sagte zu ihnen: »Der Menschensohn wird in die Hände der Menschen überliefert; sie werden ihn töten, und drei Tage nach seiner Tötung wird er auferstehen.«

Porque enseñaba á sus discípulos, y les decía: El Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres, y le matarán; mas muerto él, resucitará al tercer día.

For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

for he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

Sie aber verstanden den Ausspruch nicht, scheuten sich jedoch, ihn deswegen zu befragen.

Pero ellos no entendían esta palabra, y tenían miedo de preguntarle.

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

So kamen sie nach Kapernaum; und als er zu Hause (angelangt) war, fragte er sie: »Worüber habt ihr unterwegs gesprochen?«

Y llegó á Capernaum; y así que estuvo en casa, les preguntó: ¿Qué disputabais entre vosotros en el camino?

And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?

He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

Sie aber schwiegen; denn sie hatten unterwegs miteinander darüber gesprochen, wer (von ihnen) der Größte sei.

Mas ellos callaron; porque los unos con los otros habían disputado en el camino quién había de ser el mayor.

But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

But they were silent, for they had disputed with one another on the way about who was the greatest.

Da setzte er sich, rief die Zwölf herbei und sagte zu ihnen: »Wenn jemand der Erste sein will, muß er von allen der Letzte und der Diener aller sein!«

Entonces sentándose, llamó á los doce, y les dice: Si alguno quiere ser el primero, será el postrero de todos, y el servidor de todos.

And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

He sat down and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”

Dann nahm er ein Kind, stellte es mitten unter sie, schloß es in seine Arme und sagte zu ihnen:

Y tomando un niño, púsolo en medio de ellos; y tomándole en sus brazos, les dice:

And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,

He took a little child and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

»Wer eins von solchen Kindern auf meinen Namen hin aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf; und wer mich aufnimmt, der nimmt nicht mich auf, sondern den, der mich gesandt hat.«

El que recibiere en mi nombre uno de los tales niños, á mí recibe; y el que á mí recibe, no recibe á mí, mas al que me envió.

Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

“Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”

Da sagte Johannes zu ihm: »Meister, wir haben einen, der nicht mit uns dir nachfolgt, unter Anwendung deines Namens böse Geister austreiben sehen und haben es ihm untersagt, weil er uns nicht nachfolgt.«

Y respondióle Juan, diciendo: Maestro, hemos visto á uno que en tu nombre echaba fuera los demonios, el cual no nos sigue; y se lo prohibimos, porque no nos sigue.

And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow us.”

Jesus aber erwiderte ihm: »Untersagt es ihm nicht; denn so leicht wird niemand, der ein Wunder unter Benutzung meines Namens vollführt, dazu kommen, Böses von mir zu reden.

Y Jesús dijo: No se lo prohibáis; porque ninguno hay que haga milagro en mi nombre que luego pueda decir mal de mí.

But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

But Jesus said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

Denn wer nicht gegen uns ist, der ist für uns. –

Porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.

For he that is not against us is on our part.

For whoever is not against us is on our side.

Denn wenn jemand euch im Hinblick darauf, daß ihr Christus angehört, auch nur einen Becher Wasser zu trinken gibt, – wahrlich ich sage euch: Es wird ihm nicht unbelohnt bleiben!«

Y cualquiera que os diere un vaso de agua en mi nombre, porque sois de Cristo, de cierto os digo que no perderá su recompensa.

For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name because you are Christ’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

»Und wer einen von diesen Kleinen, die (an mich) glauben, ärgert, für den wäre es das beste, wenn ihm ein Mühlstein um den Hals gehängt und er ins Meer geworfen wäre.

Y cualquiera que escandalizare á uno de estos pequeñitos que creen en mí, mejor le fuera si se le atase una piedra de molino al cuello, y fuera echado en la mar.

And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

“Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.

Und wenn deine Hand dich ärgert, so haue sie ab! Es ist besser für dich, verstümmelt in das Leben einzugehen, als daß du deine beiden Hände hast und in die Hölle kommst, in das unauslöschliche Feuer.

Y si tu mano te escandalizare, córtala: mejor te es entrar á la vida manco, que teniendo dos manos ir á la Gehenna, al fuego que no puede ser apagado;

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire,

Donde su gusano no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

Und wenn dein Fuß dich ärgert, so haue ihn ab! Es ist besser für dich, als Lahmer in das Leben einzugehen, als daß du deine beiden Füße hast und in die Hölle geworfen wirst.

Y si tu pie te fuere ocasión de caer, córtalo: mejor te es entrar á la vida cojo, que teniendo dos pies ser echado en la Gehenna, al fuego que no puede ser apagado;

And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, into the fire that will never be quenched—

Donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

Und wenn dein Auge dich ärgert, so reiße es aus! Es ist besser für dich, einäugig in das Reich Gottes einzugehen, als daß du beide Augen hast und in die Hölle geworfen wirst,

Y si tu ojo te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo: mejor te es entrar al reino de Dios con un ojo, que teniendo dos ojos ser echado á la Gehenna;

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out. It is better for you to enter into God’s Kingdom with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire,

wo ihr Wurm nicht stirbt und das Feuer nicht erlischt. –

Donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga.

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

Denn jeder wird mit Feuer gesalzen werden †wie jedes Schlachtopfer mit Salz gewürzt wird.

Porque todos serán salados con fuego, y todo sacrificio será salado con sal.

For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.

Das Salz ist etwas Gutes; wenn aber das Salz fade geworden ist, wodurch wollt ihr ihm die Würzkraft wiedergeben? Habt Salz in euch und haltet Frieden untereinander.«

Buena es la sal; mas si la sal fuere desabrida, ¿con qué la adobaréis? Tened en vosotros mismos sal; y tened paz los unos con los otros.

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
