Estos son los que firmaron en representación de toda la nación, esto es, por el común del pueblo, por los sacerdotes, por los levitas, los porteros, los miembros del coro, los ayudantes del templo y por las mujeres, sus hijos e hijas, y por todos los que tenían edad de comprender estas cosas y se habían separado de los pueblos extranjeros de la tierra, para servir a Dios.

Todos, pues, de corazón, estuvimos de acuerdo con este pacto y prometimos, bajo pena de maldición, y bajo juramento, guardar y cumplir los mandamientos, ordenanzas y estatutos que el Señor nuestro Dios nos dio por medio de su siervo Moisés.

Acordamos no dejar que nuestras hijas se casaran con hombres que no fueran judíos, ni que nuestros hijos se casaran con mujeres que no fueran judías.
Y que no daríamos nuestras hijas á los pueblos de la tierra, ni tomaríamos sus hijas para nuestros hijos.

También acordamos que si los extranjeros venían el día sábado o en algún día de fiesta a vendernos trigo u otros productos, no les compraríamos nada. Además, acordamos no cultivar la tierra cada siete años, y perdonar y dar por canceladas las deudas de nuestros hermanos judíos.
Asimismo, que si los pueblos de la tierra trajesen á vender mercaderías y comestibles en día de sábado, nada tomaríamos de ellos en sábado, ni en día santificado; y que dejaríamos el año séptimo, con remisión de toda deuda.
And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

Acordamos también pagar anualmente el impuesto de cuatro gramos de plata, para que hubiera dinero suficiente para el cuidado del templo de nuestro Dios.

Además era necesario tener provisión especial de pan de la Presencia, de la ofrenda de granos y de holocausto para el reposo, las fiestas de las lunas nuevas y las fiestas solemnes. Igualmente las ofrendas sagradas, los sacrificios para las expiaciones por el pecado de Israel, y todo lo necesario para el servicio del templo de nuestro Dios.

Luego echamos suertes para determinar los turnos en que las familias de los sacerdotes, los levitas y el pueblo en general debían traer la leña para los holocaustos del templo del Señor nuestro Dios, que estaba estipulado en la ley.

Acordamos traer siempre las primeras cosechas de nuestros campos, y los primeros frutos de nuestros árboles frutales.

Acordamos presentar a Dios nuestros primogénitos, y dar como ofrenda los primeros animales de nuestros ganados, vacunos y ovinos, tal como está escrito en la Ley. Esto lo haríamos a través de los sacerdotes que sirven en el templo de nuestro Dios.
Asimismo los primogénitos de nuestros hijos y de nuestras bestias, como está escrito en la ley; y que traeríamos los primogénitos de nuestras vacas y de nuestras ovejas á la casa de nuestro Dios, á los sacerdotes que ministran en la casa de nuestro Dios:

También acordamos llevar a los almacenes del templo de nuestro Dios la primera harina del trigo que moliéramos, los primeros frutos de los árboles, el primer vino y el primer aceite de oliva. Estas ofrendas eran para los sacerdotes que sirven en el templo. Además, acordamos dar a los levitas la décima parte de todo lo producido por nuestra tierra, ya que eran ellos los responsables de recoger los diezmos en todas las poblaciones rurales.
Que traeríamos también las primicias de nuestras masas, y nuestras ofrendas, y del fruto de todo árbol, del vino y del aceite, á los sacerdotes, á las cámaras de la casa de nuestro Dios, y el diezmo de nuestra tierra á los Levitas; y que los Levitas recibirían las décimas de nuestras labores en todas las ciudades:
And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.

Un sacerdote, descendiente de Aarón, debía estar con los levitas en el momento en que estos recogieran los diezmos. Los levitas, por su parte, sacarían la décima parte de estos diezmos y la depositarían en los almacenes del templo de nuestro Dios.
Y que estaría el sacerdote hijo de Aarón con los Levitas, cuando los Levitas recibirían el diezmo: y que los Levitas llevarían el diezmo del diezmo á la casa de nuestro Dios, á las cámaras en la casa del tesoro.
And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

El pueblo y los levitas estaban obligados a llevar estas ofrendas de trigo, vino nuevo y aceite de oliva, y colocarlas en los almacenes del templo. Allí es donde se guardan los utensilios sagrados, y donde se quedan los sacerdotes, los porteros y los cantores del coro, cuando están de turno. Fue así como nos comprometimos a no descuidar el templo de nuestro Dios.
Porque á las cámaras han de llevar los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Leví la ofrenda del grano, del vino, y del aceite; y allí estarán los vasos del santuario, y los sacerdotes que ministran, y los porteros, y los cantores; y no abandonaremos la casa de nuestro Dios.
