1Los líderes del pueblo se establecieron en Jerusalén. El resto del pueblo echó suertes para que uno de cada diez fuera a vivir a Jerusalén, la ciudad santa, mientras que los otros nueve se quedarían en las demás poblaciones.
2El pueblo bendijo a todos aquellos que se ofrecieron voluntariamente para vivir en Jerusalén.
3Estos son los jefes de la provincia que vivieron en Jerusalén; sin embargo, en las ciudades de Judá cada quien vivía en su propia posesión dentro de sus pueblos: los sacerdotes, los levitas, los sirvientes del templo y los descendientes de los siervos de Salomón.
4En Jerusalén se instalaron algunos de los descendientes de Judá y de Benjamín. De los hijos de Judá: Ataías, hijo de Uzías, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Amarías, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Mahalalel, de la línea de Fares;
5y Maaseías, hijo de Baruc, hijo de Colhoze, hijo de Hazaías, hijo de Adaías, hijo de Joiarib, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Siloni.
6El total de los descendientes de Fares que vivieron en Jerusalén fue de cuatrocientos sesenta y ocho hombres valientes.
7Estos son los descendientes de Benjamín: Salú, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Joed, hijo de Pedaías, hijo de Colaías, hijo de Maaseías, hijo de Itiel, hijo de Jesaías.
8Después de él estaban Gabai y Salai: novecientos veintiocho en total.
9Joel hijo de Zicri era su supervisor; y Judá hijo de Hasenúa era el segundo al mando de la ciudad.
10De los sacerdotes: Jedaías hijo de Joiarib, Jacín,
11Seraías, hijo de Hilcías, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Meraiot, hijo de Ahitub, jefe del templo de Dios,
12y sus compañeros que realizaban el trabajo en el templo: ochocientos veintidós; también Adaías, hijo de Jeroham, hijo de Pelalías, hijo de Amzi, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Pasur, hijo de Malquías,
13y sus parientes, jefes de familia: doscientos cuarenta y dos; y Amashai, hijo de Azarel, hijo de Ahzai, hijo de Mesilemot, hijo de Imer,
14y sus compañeros, hombres valientes: ciento veintiocho. Su supervisor era Zabdiel, hijo de Hagedolim.
15De los levitas: Semaías, hijo de Hasub, hijo de Azricam, hijo de Hasabías, hijo de Buni;
16y Sabetai y Jozabad, de los jefes de los levitas, encargados de los trabajos externos del templo de Dios;
17y Matanías, hijo de Micaica, hijo de Zabdi, hijo de Asaf, que era el director del coro que iniciaba la acción de gracias en la oración, y Bacbuquías, el segundo entre sus compañeros; y Abda, hijo de Samúa, hijo de Galal, hijo de Jedutún.
18El total de los levitas en la ciudad santa era de doscientos ochenta y cuatro.
19Los porteros: Acub, Talmón y sus compañeros, que vigilaban las puertas: ciento setenta y dos.
20El resto de los israelitas, de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, vivían en todas las ciudades de Judá, cada uno en su propiedad.
21Pero los sirvientes del templo vivían en la colina de Ofel, bajo el mando de Ziha y Guispa.
22El supervisor de los levitas en Jerusalén era Uzi, hijo de Bani, hijo de Hasabías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micaica, de los descendientes de Asaf. Estos eran los cantores encargados del servicio del templo de Dios.
23Pues había una orden del rey respecto a ellos y un reglamento que fijaba lo que los cantores debían recibir cada día.
24Petaías hijo de Mesezabel, de los descendientes de Zera hijo de Judá, era el asesor del rey para todos los asuntos del pueblo.
25En cuanto a los pueblos con sus campos, algunos de los hijos de Judá vivieron en Quiriat Arba y sus aldeas, en Dibón y sus aldeas, en Jecabzeel y sus poblados,
26en Jesúa, Moladá, Bet Pelet,
27en Hazar Sual, en Beerseba y sus aldeas,
28en Siclag, en Meconá y sus aldeas,
29en En Rimón, Sorá, Jarmut,
30Zanoa, Adulam y sus poblados, en Laquis y sus campos, y en Azeca y sus aldeas. Se establecieron desde Beerseba hasta el valle de Hinom.
31Los descendientes de Benjamín vivieron desde Geba, en Micmas, Aía, Betel y sus aldeas,
32en Anatot, Nob, Ananías,
33Hazor, Ramá, Gitaim,
34Hadid, Seboim, Nebalat,
35Lod y Ono, en el valle de los Artesanos.
36Algunos grupos de los levitas que vivían en Judá fueron enviados al territorio de Benjamín.

6Todos los hijos de Phares que moraron en Jerusalem, fueron cuatrocientos setenta y ocho hombres fuertes.

1And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.
2And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem.
3Now these are the chief of the province that dwelt in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, to wit, Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants.
4And at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez;
5And Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni.
6All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred threescore and eight valiant men.

13And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred forty and two: and Amashai the son of Azareel, the son of Ahasai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,
14And their brethren, mighty men of valour, an hundred twenty and eight: and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of one of the great men.
15Also of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hashub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;
16And Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chief of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God.
17And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
18All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred fourscore and four.
19Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two.
20And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.
21But the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel: and Ziha and Gispa were over the Nethinims.
22The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.
23For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day.
24And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabeel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.
25And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjath-arba, and in the villages thereof, and at Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and at Jekabzeel, and in the villages thereof,
26And at Jeshua, and at Moladah, and at Beth-phelet,
27And at Hazar-shual, and at Beer-sheba, and in the villages thereof,
28And at Ziklag, and at Mekonah, and in the villages thereof,
29And at En-rimmon, and at Zareah, and at Jarmuth,

21But the temple servants lived in Ophel; and Ziha and Gishpa were over the temple servants.
22The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of the sons of Asaph, the singers responsible for the service of God’s house.
23For there was a commandment from the king concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as every day required.
24Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.
25As for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba and its towns, in Dibon and its towns, in Jekabzeel and its villages,
26in Jeshua, in Moladah, Beth Pelet,
27in Hazar Shual, in Beersheba and its towns,
28in Ziklag, in Meconah and in its towns,
29in En Rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth,
30Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its towns. So they encamped from Beersheba to the valley of Hinnom.
31The children of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Michmash and Aija, and at Bethel and its towns,
32at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

34Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,
35Lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.
36Of the Levites, certain divisions in Judah settled in Benjamin’s territory.
