Estavam também os parentes de Zacarias, Semaías, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Netanel, Judá, Hanani, com os instrumentos de música de Davi, o homem de Deus. Esdras, o escriba, estava na frente deles.

Naquele dia, homens foram designados para cuidar dos depósitos para as contribuições, os primeiros frutos e os dízimos dos campos das cidades, para colocar neles as porções exigidas por lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas. Pois Judá estava alegre por causa dos sacerdotes e dos levitas que estavam diante deles.

Eles realizaram o serviço do seu Deus e o serviço da purificação, e assim também fizeram os cantores e os porteiros, conforme o mandamento de Davi e de Salomão, seu filho.

Há muito tempo, nos dias de Davi e Asafe, havia os regentes dos cantores, e havia canções de louvor e ações de graças para Deus.

Nos dias de Zorobabel e nos dias de Neemias, todo o Israel dava as porções diárias para os cantores e para os porteiros. Eles separavam a porção que era para os levitas, e os levitas separavam a porção que era para os descendentes de Arão.

Y todo Israel en días de Zorobabel, y en días de Nehemías, daba raciones á los cantores y á los porteros, cada cosa en su día: consagraban asimismo sus porciones á los Levitas, y los Levitas consagraban parte á los hijos de Aarón.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.

All Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeepers, as every day required; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
