1Esta es la lista de los sacerdotes y levitas que regresaron de Babilonia bajo la dirección de Zorobabel hijo de Salatiel, y con Jesúa:
2Seraías, Jeremías, Esdras, Amarías, Maluc, Jatús, Secanías, Rejún, Meremot, Idó, Guinetón, Abías, Mijamín, Madías, Bilgá, Semaías, Joyarib, Jedaías, Salú, Amoc, Jilquías y Jedaías. Estos eran los jefes de los sacerdotes y de sus hermanos en los días de Jesúa.

8Los levitas que fueron con ellos son los siguientes: Jesúa, Binuy, Cadmiel, Serebías, Judá y Matanías, que era el que estaba a cargo del culto de acción de gracias, junto con sus compañeros.
9Bacbuquías y Uni, del mismo clan, les ayudaban durante el culto.
10Jesúa fue el padre de Joaquim, y este fue el padre de Eliasib. Eliasib, fue el padre de Joyadá, y este fue el padre de Johanán, y Johanán fue el padre de Jadúa.

22En los días de Eliasib, Joyadá, Johanán y Jadúa, durante el reinado de Darío, de Persia, se hizo un registro genealógico de los jefes de los clanes sacerdotales y de los levitas. Los nombres de los levitas fueron anotados
23en el libro de las Crónicas hasta los días de Johanán hijo de Eliasib.
24Estos son los nombres de los jefes de los levitas: Jasabías, Serebías y Jesúa hijo de Cadmiel. Los hombres de su mismo clan los ayudaban durante las ceremonias de alabanza y acción de gracias, de acuerdo con el mandato dado por David, varón de Dios.
25Los porteros que custodiaban los almacenes junto a las puertas eran: Matanías, Bacbuquías, Abdías, Mesulán, Talmón y Acub.
26Estos eran los hombres que estaban en servicio en tiempo de Joaquim hijo de Jesúa y nieto de Josadac, cuando yo era el gobernador, y Esdras era el sacerdote y maestro de la Ley.
27Próxima ya la dedicación de la nueva muralla de Jerusalén, se pidió a todos los levitas de la tierra que vinieran a Jerusalén a presenciar la ceremonia y a participar en la feliz ocasión con sus acciones de gracias, acompañados de címbalos, salterios y arpas.
28Los miembros del coro llegaron de los pueblos cercanos a Jerusalén y de las aldeas de Netofa.
29También vinieron desde Bet Guilgal y de las aldeas de Gueba y Azmávet, porque los cantores habían edificado caseríos en las cercanías de Jerusalén.
30Los sacerdotes y levitas se purificaron primero; luego purificaron al pueblo, las puertas y la muralla.
31Hice subir a los jefes de Judá sobre la muralla y los separé en dos líneas, para que dieran gracias, mientras caminaban en direcciones opuestas sobre el muro. El coro que marchó a la derecha, rumbo a la puerta del Basurero, estaba formado por la mitad de los jefes de Judá,

34Judá, Benjamín, Semaías y Jeremías.
35Los sacerdotes que tocaban las trompetas eran Zacarías hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micaías, hijo de Zacur, hijo de Asaf; Semaías, Azarel, Milalay, Guilalay, May, Natanael, Judá, y Jananí (usaban los instrumentos musicales del rey David). El sacerdote Esdras dirigió esta procesión.

37Cuando llegaron a la puerta de la Fuente, siguieron adelante y subieron las gradas que conducen hasta la Ciudad de David. Luego siguieron por la cuesta de la muralla, pasaron junto al palacio de David, hasta la puerta de las Aguas, en el oriente.
38El otro grupo, del que yo formaba parte, caminó en el otro sentido para encontrarse con ellos. Caminamos desde la Torre de los Hornos hasta el muro Ancho.
39Luego pasamos por encima de la puerta de Efraín, por la puerta Vieja, y seguimos por la puerta del Pescado, la torre de Jananel y la torre de los Cien. Luego seguimos adelante hasta la puerta de las Ovejas y nos detuvimos en la puerta de la Cárcel.
40Ambos coros entonces prosiguieron hasta el templo. A mi lado estaban los sacerdotes que tocaban las trompetas: Eliaquín, Maseías, Minjamín, Micaías, Elihoenay, Zacarías, Jananías,

42Maseías, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzi, Johanán, Malquías, Elam y Ezer. Luego los cantores empezaron a cantar en alta voz y con claridad, bajo la dirección de Izraías.
43En aquel día de gozo se ofrecieron muchos sacrificios, porque el Señor les había dado motivos para estar muy gozosos. Las mujeres y los niños también se alegraron, y el regocijo del pueblo de Jerusalén se oía desde lejos.
44En aquel día se nombraron a las personas que se harían cargo de los tesoros, las ofrendas mecidas, los diezmos y las primicias. Tendrían la tarea de recolectarlas de los campos pertenecientes a las poblaciones, como lo estipulan las leyes de Moisés. Estas ofrendas estaban destinadas a los sacerdotes y levitas, porque el pueblo de Judá los apreciaba mucho por el servicio que ofrecían.
45Eran ellos los que se ocupaban, con la ayuda de los cantores y porteros, del culto de Dios y de las ceremonias de purificación, conforme a las leyes de David y su hijo Salomón.
46(Fue en los días de David y de Asaf que comenzó la costumbre de tener directores de coro, y se cantaban himnos de alabanza y acción de gracias a Dios).
47Así que en los días de Zorobabel y de Nehemías el pueblo traía una provisión diaria de alimento para los miembros del coro, los porteros y los levitas. Los levitas, a su vez, daban una porción de lo que recibían a los sacerdotes descendientes de Aarón.

23Los hijos de Leví, cabezas de familias, fueron escritos en el libro de las crónicas hasta los días de Johanán, hijo de Eliasib.
24Los cabezas de los Levitas: Hasabías, Serebías, y Jesuá hijo de Cadmiel, y sus hermanos delante de ellos, para alabar y para rendir gracias, conforme al estatuto de David varón de Dios, guardando su turno.
25Mathanías, y Bacbucías, Obadías, Mesullam, Talmón, Accub, guardas, eran porteros para la guardia á las entradas de las puertas.
26Estos fueron en los días de Joiacim, hijo de Jesuá, hijo de Josadac, y en los días del gobernador Nehemías, y del sacerdote Esdras, escriba.
27Y á la dedicación del muro de Jerusalem buscaron á los Levitas de todos sus lugares, para traerlos á Jerusalem, para hacer la dedicación y la fiesta con alabanzas y con cánticos, con címbalos, salterios y cítaras.
28Y fueron reunidos los hijos de los cantores, así de la campiña alrededor de Jerusalem como de las aldeas de Netophati;
29Y de la casa de Gilgal, y de los campos de Geba, y de Azmaveth; porque los cantores se habían edificado aldeas alrededor de Jerusalem.
30Y se purificaron los sacerdotes y los Levitas; y purificaron al pueblo, y las puertas, y el muro.
31Hice luego subir á los príncipes de Judá sobre el muro, y puse dos coros grandes que fueron en procesión: el uno á la mano derecha sobre el muro hacia la puerta del Muladar.
32E iba tras de ellos Osaías, y la mitad de los príncipes de Judá,
33Y Azarías, Esdras y Mesullam,
34Judá y Benjamín, y Semaías, y Jeremías;
35Y de los hijos de los sacerdotes iban con trompetas, Zacarías hijo de Jonathán, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Mathanías, hijo de Michâías, hijo de Zachûr, hijo de Asaph;
36Y sus hermanos Semaías, y Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nathanael, Judá y Hanani, con los instrumentos músicos de David varón de Dios; y Esdras escriba, delante de ellos.
37Y á la puerta de la Fuente, en derecho delante de ellos, subieron por las gradas de la ciudad de David, por la subida del muro, desde la casa de David hasta la puerta de las Aguas al oriente.
38Y el segundo coro iba del lado opuesto, y yo en pos de él, con la mitad del pueblo sobre el muro, desde la torre de los Hornos hasta el muro ancho;
39Y desde la puerta de Ephraim hasta la puerta vieja, y á la puerta del Pescado, y la torre de Hananeel, y la torre de Hamath, hasta la puerta de las Ovejas: y pararon en la puerta de la Cárcel.
40Pararon luego los dos coros en la casa de Dios; y yo, y la mitad de los magistrados conmigo;
41Y los sacerdotes, Eliacim, Maaseías, Miniamin, Michâías, Elioenai, Zacarías, y Hananías, con trompetas;
42Y Maaseías, y Semeías, y Eleazar, y Uzzi, y Johanán, y Malchías, y Elam, y Ezer. Y los cantores cantaban alto, é Israhía era el prefecto.
43Y sacrificaron aquel día grandes víctimas, é hicieron alegrías; porque Dios los había recreado con grande contentamiento: alegráronse también las mujeres y muchachos; y el alborozo de Jerusalem fué oído de lejos.
44Y en aquel día fueron puestos varones sobre las cámaras de los tesoros, de las ofrendas, de las primicias, y de los diezmos, para juntar en ellas, de los campos de las ciudades, las porciones legales para los sacerdotes y Levitas: porque era grande el gozo de Judá con respecto á los sacerdotes y Levitas que asistían.
45Y habían guardado la observancia de su Dios, y la observancia de la expiación, como también los cantores y los porteros, conforme al estatuto de David y de Salomón su hijo.
46Porque desde el tiempo de David y de Asaph, ya de antiguo, había príncipes de cantores, y cántico y alabanza, y acción de gracias á Dios.
47Y todo Israel en días de Zorobabel, y en días de Nehemías, daba raciones á los cantores y á los porteros, cada cosa en su día: consagraban asimismo sus porciones á los Levitas, y los Levitas consagraban parte á los hijos de Aarón.

25Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.
26These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.
27And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
28And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;
29Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.
30And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
31Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:
32And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,
33And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
34Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,
35And certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:
36And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.

38And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;
39And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.
40So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:
41And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
42And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
43Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.
44And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
45And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
46For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.
47And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.

39and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate; and they stood still in the gate of the guard.
40So the two companies of those who gave thanks in God’s house stood, and I and the half of the rulers with me;
41and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
42and Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
43They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far away.
44On that day, men were appointed over the rooms for the treasures, for the wave offerings, for the first fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them according to the fields of the cities the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites who served.
45They performed the duty of their God and the duty of the purification, and so did the singers and the gatekeepers, according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.
46For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47All Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeepers, as every day required; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
