Nehemías 13

Naquele dia, eles leram o livro de Moisés diante do povo. Foi encontrado nos escritos que nenhum dos amonitas ou moabitas deveria juntar-se ao povo de Deus, para sempre.

AQUEL día se leyó en el libro de Moisés oyéndolo el pueblo, y fué hallado en él escrito, que los Ammonitas y Moabitas no debían entrar jamás en la congregación de Dios;

On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

Isso ocorreu porque eles não vieram até o povo de Israel com pão e com água, mas contrataram Balaão para amaldiçoar Israel. Contudo, nosso Deus transformou a maldição em bênção.

Assim que eles ouviram a Lei, separaram de Israel cada pessoa estrangeira.

Antes disso, o sacerdote Eliasibe tinha sido encarregado dos depósitos da casa do nosso Deus. Ele era parente de Tobias.

Eliasibe preparou para Tobias uma sala grande onde, anteriormente, eles guardavam as ofertas de cereais, o incenso, os utensílios, os dízimos dos cereais, vinho novo e o óleo, que foram designados para os levitas, os cantores, os porteiros, e as contribuições para os sacerdotes.

Y le había hecho una grande cámara, en la cual guardaban antes las ofrendas, y el perfume, y los vasos, y el diezmo del grano, y del vino y del aceite, que estaba mandado dar á los Levitas, á los cantores, y á los porteros; y la ofrenda de los sacerdotes.

And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.

Mas, durante todo esse tempo, eu não estava em Jerusalém. No trigésimo segundo ano do reinado de Artaxerxes, rei da Babilônia, fui ao rei. Depois de algum tempo, pedi ao rei permissão para partir,

e, então, retornei para Jerusalém. Eu percebi o mal que Eliasibe havia feito, dando a Tobias uma sala no pátio da casa de Deus.

Eu estava muito irado e lancei todos os artigos domésticos da casa de Tobias para fora da sala.

And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber.

Ordenei que purificassem as salas e recoloquei nelas os utensílios da casa de Deus, as ofertas de cereais e o incenso.

Y dije que limpiasen las cámaras, é hice volver allí las alhajas de la casa de Dios, las ofrendas y el perfume.

Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.

Fiquei sabendo que as porções dos levitas não lhes estavam sendo dadas, e que retornaram cada um para o seu campo, os levitas e os cantores que faziam a obra.

Entendí asimismo que las partes de los Levitas no se les habían dado; y que los Levitas y cantores que hacían el servicio se habían huído cada uno á su heredad.

Então, confrontei os oficiais e disse: "Por que a casa de Deus é negligenciada?". Juntei-os e os coloquei nos seus postos.

Designei como tesoureiros dos depósitos Selemias, o sacerdote, e Zadoque, o escriba; e dos levitas, Pedaías. Junto a eles estavam Hanã, filho de Zacur, filho de Matanias, pois eram considerados confiáveis. Seus deveres eram distribuir os suprimentos a seus colegas.

Y puse por sobrestantes de ellos á Selemías sacerdote, y á Sadoc escriba, y de los Levitas, á Pedaías; y á mano de ellos Hanán hijo de Zaccur, hijo de Mathanías: pues que eran tenidos por fieles, y de ellos era el repartir á sus hermanos.

And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute unto their brethren.

Naqueles dias, vi em Judá o povo pisando lagar no sábado, trazendo montões de cereais que eram carregados sobre os jumentos como também vinho, uvas, figos e todo tipo de carga pesada que traziam à Jerusalém no dia de sábado. Eu protestei por estarem vendendo alimento naquele dia.

En aquellos días ví en Judá algunos que pisaban en lagares el sábado, y que acarreaban haces, y cargaban asnos con vino, y también de uvas, de higos, y toda suerte de carga, y traían á Jerusalem en día de sábado; y protestéles acerca del día que vendían el mantenimiento.

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.

Homens de Tiro que moravam em Jerusalém trouxeram peixes e todo o tipo de mercadorias e as vendiam no sábado para as pessoas de Judá e na cidade!

También estaban en ella Tirios que traían pescado y toda mercadería, y vendían en sábado á los hijos de Judá en Jerusalem.

There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

Então, confrontei os líderes de Judá: "Que mal é este que estais fazendo, profanando o dia de sábado?

Quando escureceu sobre os portões de Jerusalém, antes do sábado, ordenei que as portas fossem fechadas e que não fossem abertas até depois do sábado. Posicionei alguns dos meus servos nos portões, para que nenhuma carga pudesse entrar no dia de sábado.

Sucedió pues, que cuando iba oscureciendo á las puertas de Jerusalem antes del sábado, dije que se cerrasen las puertas, y ordené que no las abriesen hasta después del sábado; y puse á las puertas algunos de mis criados, para que en día de sábado no entrasen carga.

Os mercadores e vendedores de todos os tipos de mercadorias acamparam fora de Jerusalém uma ou duas vezes.

Mas eu lhes avisei: "Por que vós acampastes fora do muro? Se o fizerdes novamente, eu lançarei mão sobre vós!". Daquele tempo em diante, não tornaram a vir no sábado.

Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.

Então, ordenei aos levitas que se purificassem e viessem guardar as portas, para santificar o dia de sábado. Também nisso, Deus meu, lembra-te de mim; e tem misericórdia de mim, por causa da Aliança de lealdade que tens mostrado a mim.

Naqueles dias, também vi Judeus que haviam se casado com mulheres de Asdode, Amom e Moabe.

Metade dos filhos deles falavam a língua de Asdode. Nenhum deles podia falar a língua de Judá, mas somente a língua de um dos outros povos.

Deveríamos, então, escutar-vos, fazer todo esse mal e agir de maneira traiçoeira contra nosso Deus, casando-nos com mulheres estrangeiras?".

¿Y obedeceremos á vosotros para cometer todo este mal tan grande de prevaricar contra nuestro Dios, tomando mujeres extranjeras?

Um dos filhos de Joiada, filho de Eliasibe, o sumo sacerdote, era genro de Sambalate, o horonita. Por isso fiz com que ele fugisse da minha presença.

Assim, eu os purifiquei de todas as coisas estrangeiras e estabeleci deveres para os sacerdotes e os levitas, cada um na sua própria tarefa.
