Nehemías 13

Aquel día se leyó en el rollo de Moisés a oídos del pueblo. Se encontró escrito en él que los amonitas y moabitas no debían entrar jamás en la congregación de ʼElohim,

AQUEL día se leyó en el libro de Moisés oyéndolo el pueblo, y fué hallado en él escrito, que los Ammonitas y Moabitas no debían entrar jamás en la congregación de Dios;

On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

le preparó una gran cámara donde anteriormente se depositaban las ofrendas vegetales, el incienso, los vasos, los diezmos del grano, vino nuevo y aceite asignado a los levitas, cantores y porteros, y la ofrenda para los sacerdotes.

Y le había hecho una grande cámara, en la cual guardaban antes las ofrendas, y el perfume, y los vasos, y el diezmo del grano, y del vino y del aceite, que estaba mandado dar á los Levitas, á los cantores, y á los porteros; y la ofrenda de los sacerdotes.

And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.

y regresé a Jerusalén. Me percaté del mal que Eliasib hizo a favor de Tobías, al prepararle una cámara en los patios del Templo de ʼElohim.

Y venido á Jerusalem, entendí el mal que había hecho Eliasib en atención á Tobías, haciendo para él cámara en los patios de la casa de Dios.

And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.

Por eso me airé muchísimo. Eché todas las pertenencias de Tobías fuera de la cámara.

And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber.

Ordené que limpiaran las cámaras y dispuse que restituyeran allí los utensilios sagrados del Templo de ʼElohim, con las ofrendas vegetales y el incienso.

Y dije que limpiasen las cámaras, é hice volver allí las alhajas de la casa de Dios, las ofrendas y el perfume.

Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.

También supe que a los levitas no les fueron dadas sus porciones, de manera que los levitas y los cantores, en vez de cumplir sus tareas, cada uno se fue a su campo.

Entendí asimismo que las partes de los Levitas no se les habían dado; y que los Levitas y cantores que hacían el servicio se habían huído cada uno á su heredad.

Entonces reprendí a los dirigentes: ¿Por qué está abandonado el Templo de ʼElohim? Los reuní y los restablecí en su puesto.

Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

Todo Judá llevó el diezmo del grano, del vino nuevo y del aceite a los depósitos.

Designé al sacerdote Selemías, al escriba Sadoc y de los levitas a Pedaías como encargado de los depósitos. Junto a ellos estaba Hanán, hijo de Zacur, hijo de Matanías, porque eran considerados fieles, y les correspondió repartir entre sus hermanos.

Y puse por sobrestantes de ellos á Selemías sacerdote, y á Sadoc escriba, y de los Levitas, á Pedaías; y á mano de ellos Hanán hijo de Zaccur, hijo de Mathanías: pues que eran tenidos por fieles, y de ellos era el repartir á sus hermanos.

And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute unto their brethren.

En esos días vi en Judá a unos que pisaban lagares en sábado, llevaban gavillas cargadas sobre asnos, y también traían a Jerusalén vino, uvas, higos y toda clase de carga en sábado. Protesté a causa del día cuando vendían las provisiones.

En aquellos días ví en Judá algunos que pisaban en lagares el sábado, y que acarreaban haces, y cargaban asnos con vino, y también de uvas, de higos, y toda suerte de carga, y traían á Jerusalem en día de sábado; y protestéles acerca del día que vendían el mantenimiento.

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.

Vivían también en la ciudad hombres de Tiro, quienes importaban pescado y toda clase de mercancías que vendían en sábado a los hijos de Judá, aun en Jerusalén.

También estaban en ella Tirios que traían pescado y toda mercadería, y vendían en sábado á los hijos de Judá en Jerusalem.

There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

Entonces reprendí a los jefes de Judá: ¿Qué significa esta mala acción que hacen, y profanan así el sábado?

Y reprendí á los señores de Judá, y díjeles: ¿Qué mala cosa es esta que vosotros hacéis, profanando así el día del sábado?

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

¿No hicieron así sus antepasados, y nuestro ʼElohim trajo toda esta desgracia sobre nosotros y esta ciudad? ¡Ustedes aumentan la ira divina contra Israel al profanar el sábado!

Aconteció que en la víspera del sábado, cuando llegaba la noche a las puertas de Jerusalén, ordené que las puertas fueran cerradas hasta pasar el sábado. Emplacé a algunos de mis esclavos en las puertas para que no entrara alguna carga en sábado.

Sucedió pues, que cuando iba oscureciendo á las puertas de Jerusalem antes del sábado, dije que se cerrasen las puertas, y ordené que no las abriesen hasta después del sábado; y puse á las puertas algunos de mis criados, para que en día de sábado no entrasen carga.

And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

Pero los comerciantes y vendedores de toda esa clase de mercancías pasaron la noche fuera de Jerusalén una y dos veces.

So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.

Entonces yo les advertí: ¿Por qué pernoctan frente al muro? Si lo hacen otra vez, les echaré mano. Desde ese tiempo no volvieron en sábado.

Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.

Por otra parte, ordené a los levitas que se purificaran y acudieran a vigilar las puertas para santificar el día sábado. ¡Acuérdate de mí también por esto, oh ʼElohim mío, y perdóname según la inmensidad de tu misericordia!

Y dije á los Levitas que se purificasen, y viniesen á guardar las puertas, para santificar el día del sábado. También por esto acuérdate de mí, Dios mío, y perdóname según la muchedumbre de tu misericordia.

And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

En aquellos días también vi que algunos judíos se casaron con esposas de Asdod, de Amón y Moab.

Sus hijos hablaban a medias el lenguaje de Asdod. Ninguno de ellos podía hablar la lengua de Judá, sino el lenguaje de su propio pueblo.

And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

¿Entonces escucharemos de ustedes este gran mal al ser infieles contra nuestro ʼElohim y convivir con mujeres extranjeras?

¿Y obedeceremos á vosotros para cometer todo este mal tan grande de prevaricar contra nuestro Dios, tomando mujeres extranjeras?

Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?

Ahuyenté de mi lado a uno de los hijos de Joiada, hijo del sumo sacerdote Eliasib, porque era yerno de Sanbalat horonita.

Y uno de los hijos de Joiada hijo de Eliasib el gran sacerdote, era yerno de Sanballat Horonita: ahuyentélo por tanto de mí.

And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

Así los purifiqué de todo lo extranjero y establecí las funciones para los sacerdotes y los levitas, cada uno en su tarea,
