Nehemías 1
Palabra de Dios para Ti
1Palabras de Nehemías, hijo de Hacalías. Aconteció el mes de Kislev del año 20, que cuando yo estaba en Susa, la ciudadela,
2llegó Hanani, uno de mis hermanos, con algunos hombres de Judá. Les pregunté acerca de los judíos que escaparon, sobrevivientes del cautiverio, y acerca de Jerusalén.
3Me dijeron: Los del remanente que quedan de la cautividad allí en la provincia están en gran angustia y humillación. El muro de Jerusalén está lleno de brechas y sus puertas fueron devastadas por el fuego.
4Cuando oí estas palabras me senté, lloré e hice duelo por algunos días. Ayuné y oré ante el ʼElohim del cielo.
5Exclamé: ¡Ay Yavé, ʼElohim del cielo! Grande y terrible ʼElohim, Quien guarda el Pacto y la misericordia a los que lo aman y guardan sus Mandamientos:
6Esté ahora atento tu oído y tus ojos abiertos, para escuchar la oración de tu esclavo, que hago día y noche ante Ti por los hijos de Israel, tus esclavos, y confieso los pecados de los hijos de Israel que cometimos contra Ti. ¡Sí, yo y la casa de mi padre pecamos!
7Nos corrompimos en extremo ante Ti, al no guardar los Mandamientos, ni los Estatutos ni los Preceptos que Tú dictaste a tu esclavo Moisés.
8Te ruego que te acuerdes de la Palabra que Tú ordenaste a tu esclavo Moisés, al decir: Si ustedes me son infieles, Yo los dispersaré entre los pueblos,
9pero si se vuelven a Mí, observan mis Mandamientos y los cumplen, aunque sus exiliados estén en el extremo del cielo, de allí Yo los recogeré y los conduciré otra vez al lugar que escogí para que mi Nombre esté allí.
10Ellos son tus esclavos y tu pueblo, los cuales rescataste con tu gran poder y con tu mano poderosa.
11Te ruego, oh Yavé, que esté atento ahora tu oído a la oración de tu esclavo y de tus esclavos que se complacen en reverenciar tu Nombre. Te ruego que tu esclavo prospere hoy. Concédele misericordia delante de este hombre. Entonces yo era el copero del rey.

1PALABRAS de Nehemías, hijo de Hachâlías. Y acaeció en el mes de Chisleu, en el año veinte, estando yo en Susán, capital del reino,
2Que vino Hanani, uno de mis hermanos, él y ciertos varones de Judá, y preguntéles por los Judíos que habían escapado, que habían quedado de la cautividad, y por Jerusalem.
3Y dijéronme: El residuo, los que quedaron de la cautividad allí en la provincia, están en gran mal y afrenta, y el muro de Jerusalem derribado, y sus puertas quemadas á fuego.
4Y fué que, como yo oí estas palabras, sentéme y lloré, y enlutéme por algunos días, y ayuné y oré delante del Dios de los cielos.
5Y dije: Ruégote, oh Jehová, Dios de los cielos, fuerte, grande, y terrible, que guarda el pacto y la misericordia á los que le aman y guardan sus mandamientos;
6Esté ahora atento tu oído, y tus ojos abiertos, para oir la oración de tu siervo, que yo hago ahora delante de ti día y noche, por los hijos de Israel tus siervos; y confieso los pecados de los hijos de Israel que hemos contra ti cometido; sí, yo y la casa de mi padre hemos pecado.
7En extremo nos hemos corrompido contra ti, y no hemos guardado los mandamientos, y estatutos y juicios, que mandaste á Moisés tu siervo.
8Acuérdate ahora de la palabra que ordenaste á Moisés tu siervo, diciendo: Vosotros prevaricaréis, y yo os esparciré por los pueblos:
9Mas os volveréis á mí, y guardaréis mis mandamientos, y los pondréis por obra. Si fuere vuestro lanzamiento hasta el cabo de los cielos, de allí os juntaré; y traerlos he al lugar que escogí para hacer habitar allí mi nombre.
10Ellos pues son tus siervos y tu pueblo, los cuales redimiste con tu gran fortaleza, y con tu mano fuerte.
11Ruégote, oh Jehová, esté ahora atento tu oído á la oración de tu siervo, y á la oración de tus siervos, quienes desean temer tu nombre: y ahora concede hoy próspero suceso á tu siervo, y dale gracia delante de aquel varón. Porque yo servía de copero al rey.

1The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
2That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
4And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
5And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
7We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
8Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
9But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
10Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
11O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.

1The words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah. Now in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in Susa the palace,
2Hanani, one of my brothers, came, he and certain men out of Judah; and I asked them about the Jews who had escaped, who were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3They said to me, “The remnant who are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”
4When I heard these words, I sat down and wept, and mourned several days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,
5and said, “I beg you, LORD, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,
6let your ear now be attentive and your eyes open, that you may listen to the prayer of your servant which I pray before you at this time, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants, while I confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against you. Yes, I and my father’s house have sinned.
7We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances, which you commanded your servant Moses.
8“Remember, I beg you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you trespass, I will scatter you among the peoples;
9but if you return to me, and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts were in the uttermost part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause my name to dwell there.’
10“Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand.
11Lord, I beg you, let your ear be attentive now to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name; and please prosper your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” Now I was cup bearer to the king.
