Nehemías 2

Et il arriva, au mois de Nisan, la vingtième année du Roi Artaxerxes, que le vin ayant été apporté devant lui, je pris le vin, et le présentai au Roi. Or je n’avais jamais eu mauvais visage devant lui.

Y FUÉ en el mes de Nisán, en el año veinte del rey Artajerjes, que estando ya el vino delante de él, tomé el vino, y dílo al rey. Y como yo no había estado antes triste en su presencia,

And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.

In the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, I picked up the wine, and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad before in his presence.

Et le Roi me dit : Pourquoi as-tu mauvais visage, puisque tu n’es point malade ? Cela ne vient que d’une mauvaise disposition d’esprit. Alors je craignis fort ;

Díjome el rey: ¿Por qué está triste tu rostro, pues no estás enfermo? No es esto sino quebranto de corazón. Entonces temí en gran manera.

Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,

The king said to me, “Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing else but sorrow of heart.” Then I was very much afraid.

Et je répondis au Roi : Que le Roi vive éternellement ! Comment mon visage ne serait-il pas mauvais, puisque la ville qui est le lieu des sépulcres de mes pères, demeure désolée, et que ses portes ont été consumées par le feu ?

Y dije al rey: El rey viva para siempre. ¿Cómo no estará triste mi rostro, cuando la ciudad, casa de los sepulcros de mis padres, está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas del fuego?

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

I said to the king, “Let the king live forever! Why shouldn’t my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?”

Et le Roi dit : Que me demandes-tu ? Alors je priai le Dieu des cieux ;

Y díjome el rey: ¿Qué cosa pides? Entonces oré al Dios de los cielos,

Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

Then the king said to me, “What is your request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven.

Et je dis au Roi : Si le Roi le trouve bon, et si ton serviteur t’est agréable, envoie-moi en Judée, vers la ville des sépulcres de mes pères, pour la rebâtir.

Y dije al rey: Si al rey place, y si agrada tu siervo delante de ti, que me envíes á Judá, á la ciudad de los sepulcros de mis padres, y la reedificaré.

And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.

I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may build it.”

Et le Roi me dit, et sa femme aussi, qui était assise auprès de lui : Combien serais-tu à faire ton voyage, et quand retournerais-tu ? Et après que j’eus déclaré le temps au Roi, il trouva bon de me donner mon congé.

Entonces el rey me dijo, (y la reina estaba sentada junto á él): ¿Hasta cuándo será tu viaje, y cuándo volverás? Y plugo al rey enviarme, después que yo le señalé tiempo.

And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

The king said to me (the queen was also sitting by him), “How long will your journey be? When will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me, and I set a time for him.

Puis je dis au Roi : Si le Roi le trouve bon, qu’on me donne des lettres pour les Gouverneurs de delà le fleuve, afin qu’ils me fassent passer, jusqu’à ce que j’arrive en Judée ;

Además dije al rey: Si al rey place, dénseme cartas para los gobernadores de la otra parte del río, que me franqueen el paso hasta que llegue á Judá;

Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

Et des lettres pour Asaph, le garde du parc du Roi, afin qu’il me donne du bois pour la charpenterie des portes de la forteresse qui touche à la maison de Dieu, et pour les portes des murailles de la ville, et pour la maison dans laquelle j’entrerai. Et le Roi me l’accorda, selon que la main de mon Dieu était bonne sur moi.

Y carta para Asaph, guarda del bosque del rey, á fin que me dé madera para enmaderar los portales del palacio de la casa, y para el muro de la ciudad, y la casa donde entraré. Y otorgómelo el rey, según la benéfica mano de Jehová sobre mí.

And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

Je vins donc vers les Gouverneurs qui sont de deçà le fleuve, et je leur donnai les paquets du Roi. Or le Roi avait envoyé avec moi des capitaines de guerre et des gens de cheval.

Y vine luego á los gobernadores de la otra parte del río, y les dí las cartas del rey. Y el rey envió conmigo capitanes del ejército y gente de á caballo.

Ce que Samballat, Horonite, et Tobija, serviteur hammonite, ayant appris, ils eurent un fort grand dépit de ce qu’il était venu quelqu’un pour procurer du bien aux enfants d’Israël.

Y oyéndolo Sanballat Horonita, y Tobías, el siervo Ammonita, disgustóles en extremo que viniese alguno para procurar el bien de los hijos de Israel.

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

Ainsi j’arrivai à Jérusalem, et je fus là trois jours.

Llegué pues á Jerusalem, y estado que hube allí tres días,

Levantéme de noche, yo y unos pocos varones conmigo, y no declaré á hombre alguno lo que Dios había puesto en mi corazón que hiciese en Jerusalem; ni había bestia conmigo, excepto la cabalgadura en que cabalgaba.

And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.

I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I didn’t tell anyone what my God put into my heart to do for Jerusalem. There wasn’t any animal with me except the animal that I rode on.

Je sortis donc de nuit par la porte de la vallée, et je vins par-devant la fontaine du dragon, à la porte de la fiente ; et je considérais les murailles de Jérusalem, comment elles demeuraient renversées, et comment ses portes avaient été consumées par le feu.

Y salí de noche por la puerta del Valle hacia la fuente del Dragón y á la puerta del Muladar; y consideré los muros de Jerusalem que estaban derribados, y sus puertas que estaban consumidas del fuego.

And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

De là je passai à la porte de la fontaine, et vers l’étang du Roi ; et il n’ y avait point de lieu où je pusse passer avec ma monture.

Pasé luego á la puerta de la Fuente, y al estanque del Rey; mas no había lugar por donde pasase la cabalgadura en que iba.

Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king’s pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass.

Et je montai de nuit par le torrent, et je considérai la muraille ; puis en m’en retournant, je rentrai par la porte de la vallée ; et ainsi je m’en retournai.

Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned.

Or les magistrats ne savaient point où j’étais allé, ni ce que je faisais ; aussi je n’en avais rien déclaré jusques alors, ni aux Juifs, ni aux Sacrificateurs, ni aux principaux, ni aux magistrats, ni au reste de ceux qui maniaient les affaires.

Y no sabían los magistrados dónde yo había ido, ni qué había hecho; ni hasta entonces lo había yo declarado á los Judíos y sacerdotes, ni á los nobles y magistrados, ni á los demás que hacían la obra.

And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.

The rulers didn’t know where I went, or what I did. I had not as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest who did the work.

Alors je leur dis : Vous voyez la misère dans laquelle nous sommes ; comment Jérusalem demeure désolée, et ses portes brûlées par le feu. Venez, et rebâtissons les murailles de Jérusalem, et que nous ne soyons plus en opprobre.

Díjeles pues: Vosotros veis el mal en que estamos, que Jerusalem está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas del fuego: venid, y edifiquemos el muro de Jerusalem, y no seamos más en oprobio.

Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.

Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let’s build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won’t be disgraced.”

Et je leur déclarai que la main de mon Dieu était bonne sur moi, et je leur rapportai aussi les paroles que le Roi m’avait dites. Alors ils dirent : Levons-nous, et bâtissons. Ils fortifièrent donc leurs mains pour bien faire.

Entonces les declaré cómo la mano de mi Dios era buena sobre mí, y asimismo las palabras del rey, que me había dicho. Y dijeron: Levantémonos, y edifiquemos. Así esforzaron sus manos para bien.

Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

Mais Samballat Horonite, et Tobija serviteur hammonite, et Guésem Arabe, l’ayant appris, se moquèrent de nous, et nous méprisèrent, en disant : Qu’est- ce que vous faites ? Ne vous rebellez-vous pas contre le Roi ?

Mas habiéndolo oído Samballat Horonita, y Tobías el siervo Ammonita, y Gesem el Arabe, escarnecieron de nosotros, y nos despreciaron, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto que hacéis vosotros? ¿os rebeláis contra el rey?

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?

But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite servant, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they ridiculed us and despised us, and said, “What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?”

Et je leur répondis ce mot, et leur dis : le Dieu des cieux est celui qui nous fera prospérer ; nous donc, qui sommes ses serviteurs, nous nous lèverons et nous bâtirons ; mais vous, vous n’avez aucune part, ni droit, ni mémorial, à Jérusalem.

Y volvíles respuesta, y díjeles: El Dios de los cielos, él nos prosperará, y nosotros sus siervos nos levantaremos y edificaremos: que vosotros no tenéis parte, ni derecho, ni memoria en Jerusalem.

Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Then I answered them, and said to them, “The God of heaven will prosper us. Therefore we, his servants, will arise and build; but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem.”
