Nehemías 2

C'était au mois de Nissan, la vingtième année du roi Artahchasta: il y avait du vin devant lui; je pris ce vin et le présentai au roi. Ce n'était pas mon habitude d'être triste devant lui:

Y FUÉ en el mes de Nisán, en el año veinte del rey Artajerjes, que estando ya el vino delante de él, tomé el vino, y dílo al rey. Y como yo no había estado antes triste en su presencia,

And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.

"Pourquoi, me dit le roi, as-tu si mauvaise mine? Tu n'es pourtant pas malade! Ce ne peut être qu'une peine de cœur." Je fus saisi d'une grande crainte,

Díjome el rey: ¿Por qué está triste tu rostro, pues no estás enfermo? No es esto sino quebranto de corazón. Entonces temí en gran manera.

Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,

The king said to me, “Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing else but sorrow of heart.” Then I was very much afraid.

et je répondis au roi: "Que le roi vive éternellement! Comment n'aurais-je pas l'air affligé, alors que la ville, lieu de sépulture de mes pères, est en ruines et que ses portes sont consumées par le feu?"

Y dije al rey: El rey viva para siempre. ¿Cómo no estará triste mi rostro, cuando la ciudad, casa de los sepulcros de mis padres, está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas del fuego?

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

I said to the king, “Let the king live forever! Why shouldn’t my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?”

Alors le roi me dit: "Quel est l'objet de ta requête?" J'adressai une prière au Dieu du ciel,

Y díjome el rey: ¿Qué cosa pides? Entonces oré al Dios de los cielos,

Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

Then the king said to me, “What is your request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven.

et je dis au roi: "Si tel est le bon plaisir du roi et si ton serviteur possède ta bienveillance, envoie-moi en Judée, dans la ville où sont les tombeaux de mes pères, pour que je la rebâtisse."

Y dije al rey: Si al rey place, y si agrada tu siervo delante de ti, que me envíes á Judá, á la ciudad de los sepulcros de mis padres, y la reedificaré.

And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.

I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may build it.”

Le roi, qui avait la reine assise à ses côtés, me répondit: "Combien de temps durera ton voyage et quand seras-tu de retour?" Ainsi il plut au roi de m'accorder un congé, et je lui fixai un délai.

Entonces el rey me dijo, (y la reina estaba sentada junto á él): ¿Hasta cuándo será tu viaje, y cuándo volverás? Y plugo al rey enviarme, después que yo le señalé tiempo.

And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

The king said to me (the queen was also sitting by him), “How long will your journey be? When will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me, and I set a time for him.

Je dis encore au roi: "Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'on me donne des lettres pour les préfets de l'autre côté du fleuve, afin qu'ils facilitent mon passage jusqu'à ce que j'arrive en Judée,

Además dije al rey: Si al rey place, dénseme cartas para los gobernadores de la otra parte del río, que me franqueen el paso hasta que llegue á Judá;

Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

ainsi qu'une lettre pour Assaph, le conservateur de la forêt du roi, afin qu'il me fournisse du bois pour faire la charpente des portes du fort attenant au temple, des murs de la ville et de la maison que je vais occuper." Le roi me l'accorda, grâce à la protection divine qui me favorisait.

Y carta para Asaph, guarda del bosque del rey, á fin que me dé madera para enmaderar los portales del palacio de la casa, y para el muro de la ciudad, y la casa donde entraré. Y otorgómelo el rey, según la benéfica mano de Jehová sobre mí.

And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

J'arrivai auprès des préfets de l'autre côté du fleuve et leur remis les lettres du roi; celui-ci m'avait, en outre, fait escorter par des chefs de troupe et des cavaliers.

Y vine luego á los gobernadores de la otra parte del río, y les dí las cartas del rey. Y el rey envió conmigo capitanes del ejército y gente de á caballo.

Quand Sanballat, le Horonite, Tobia, le serviteur ammonite, en furent informés, ils éprouvèrent un grand dépit de voir arriver quelqu'un pour s'occuper du bien-être des enfants d'Israël.

Y oyéndolo Sanballat Horonita, y Tobías, el siervo Ammonita, disgustóles en extremo que viniese alguno para procurar el bien de los hijos de Israel.

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

J'entrai dans Jérusalem, et, après y être resté trois jours,

Llegué pues á Jerusalem, y estado que hube allí tres días,

je me mis en campagne pendant la nuit, accompagné de peu de personnes et sans avoir communiqué à qui que ce fût ce que mon Dieu avait inspiré à mon cœur de faire pour Jérusalem. Je n'avais d'autre bête de somme avec moi que celle qui me servait de monture.

Levantéme de noche, yo y unos pocos varones conmigo, y no declaré á hombre alguno lo que Dios había puesto en mi corazón que hiciese en Jerusalem; ni había bestia conmigo, excepto la cabalgadura en que cabalgaba.

And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.

I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I didn’t tell anyone what my God put into my heart to do for Jerusalem. There wasn’t any animal with me except the animal that I rode on.

Je sortis pendant la nuit par la porte de la vallée et †me dirigeai vers la fontaine du dragon et la porte des ordures, et j'inspectai les murs de Jérusalem, qui étaient en ruines, et ses portes, qui étaient consumées par le feu.

Y salí de noche por la puerta del Valle hacia la fuente del Dragón y á la puerta del Muladar; y consideré los muros de Jerusalem que estaban derribados, y sus puertas que estaban consumidas del fuego.

And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

Puis, je passai à la porte de la source et à l'étang du roi; là, la place manquait pour que la bête que je montais pût passer.

Je m'avançai ensuite de nuit le long de la vallée, tout en examinant le mur, et, passant de nouveau par la porte de la vallée, je rentrai.

Y subí por el torrente de noche, y consideré el muro, y regresando entré por la puerta del Valle, y volvíme.

Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned.

Les chefs ne savaient où j'étais allé, ni ce que je me proposais de faire; car jusque-là, je n'avais rien révélé ni aux Judéens, ni aux prêtres, ni aux grands, ni aux chefs, ni aux autres travailleurs.

Y no sabían los magistrados dónde yo había ido, ni qué había hecho; ni hasta entonces lo había yo declarado á los Judíos y sacerdotes, ni á los nobles y magistrados, ni á los demás que hacían la obra.

And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.

Mais alors je leur dis: "Vous voyez la misère où nous sommes, comme Jérusalem est dévastée et ses portes consumées par le feu. Allons, rebâtissons les murs de Jérusalem pour que nous cessions d'être plus longtemps un objet d'opprobre."

Díjeles pues: Vosotros veis el mal en que estamos, que Jerusalem está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas del fuego: venid, y edifiquemos el muro de Jerusalem, y no seamos más en oprobio.

Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.

Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let’s build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won’t be disgraced.”

Je leur fis connaître combien la protection de mon Dieu m'avait favorisé et quelles paroles m'avait adressées le roi, ils dirent aussitôt: "Nous allons nous mettre à l'œuvre et bâtir!" Ainsi ils prirent courage pour la bonne cause.

Entonces les declaré cómo la mano de mi Dios era buena sobre mí, y asimismo las palabras del rey, que me había dicho. Y dijeron: Levantémonos, y edifiquemos. Así esforzaron sus manos para bien.

Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

Quand Sanballat, le Horonite, Tobia, le serviteur ammonite, et Ghéchem, l'Arabe, apprirent la chose, ils nous raillèrent et nous traitèrent avec dédain, disant: "Que signifie cette œuvre que vous entreprenez? Allez-vous vous révolter contre le roi?"

Mas habiéndolo oído Samballat Horonita, y Tobías el siervo Ammonita, y Gesem el Arabe, escarnecieron de nosotros, y nos despreciaron, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto que hacéis vosotros? ¿os rebeláis contra el rey?

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?

Mais je leur répliquai et leur dis: "Le Dieu du ciel nous donnera le succès; quant à nous; ses serviteurs, nous nous mettrons à l'œuvre et bâtirons; pour vous, vous n'avez aucune part, aucun droit, aucun souvenir dans Jérusalem."

Y volvíles respuesta, y díjeles: El Dios de los cielos, él nos prosperará, y nosotros sus siervos nos levantaremos y edificaremos: que vosotros no tenéis parte, ni derecho, ni memoria en Jerusalem.

Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Then I answered them, and said to them, “The God of heaven will prosper us. Therefore we, his servants, will arise and build; but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem.”
