18Il Signore è lento all'ira, e grande in benignità; egli perdona l'iniquità e il misfatto; ma altresì non assolve punto il colpevole; anzi fa punizione dell'iniquità de' padri sopra i figliuoli, infino alla terza e alla quarta generazione.

18The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

18‘The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’
