Alors toute la communauté se souleva en jetant des cris, et le peuple passa cette nuit à gémir.

ENTONCES toda la congregación alzaron grita, y dieron voces: y el pueblo lloró aquella noche.

Tous les enfants d'Israël murmurèrent contre Moïse et Aaron, et toute la communauté leur dit: "Que ne sommes-nous morts dans le pays d'Egypte, ou que ne mourons-nous dans ce désert!

Y quejáronse contra Moisés y contra Aarón todos los hijos de Israel; y díjoles toda la multitud: ¡Ojalá muriéramos en la tierra de Egipto; ó en este desierto ojalá muriéramos!

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

Et pourquoi l'Éternel nous mène-t-il dans ce pays-là, pour y périr par le glaive, nous voir ravir nos femmes et nos enfants? Certes, il vaut mieux pour nous retourner en Egypte."

¿Y por qué nos trae Jehová á esta tierra para caer á cuchillo, y que nuestras mujeres y nuestros chiquitos sean por presa? ¿no nos sería mejor volvernos á Egipto?

And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

Why does the LORD bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?”

Et ils se dirent l'un à l'autre: "Donnons-nous un chef, et retournons en Egypte!"

Y decían el uno al otro: Hagamos un capitán, y volvámonos á Egipto.

And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

They said to one another, “Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.”

Moïse et Aaron tombèrent sur leur face devant toute l'assemblée réunie des enfants d'Israël.

Entonces Moisés y Aarón cayeron sobre sus rostros delante de toda la multitud de la congregación de los hijos de Israel.

Et Josué, fils de Noun, et Caleb, fils de Yefounné, qui avaient, eux aussi, exploré la contrée, déchirèrent leurs vêtements.

Y Josué hijo de Nun, y Caleb hijo de Jephone, que eran de los que habían reconocido la tierra, rompieron sus vestidos;

And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes.

Ils parlèrent à toute la communauté des Israélites en ces termes: "Le pays que nous avons parcouru pour l'explorer, ce pays est bon, il est excellent.

Y hablaron á toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, diciendo: La tierra por donde pasamos para reconocerla, es tierra en gran manera buena.

And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land.

Si l'Éternel nous veut du bien, il saura nous faire entrer dans ce pays et nous le livrer, ce pays qui ruisselle de lait et de miel.

Si Jehová se agradare de nosotros, él nos meterá en esta tierra, y nos la entregará; tierra que fluye leche y miel.

If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us: a land which flows with milk and honey.

Mais ne vous mutinez point contre l'Éternel; ne craignez point, vous, le peuple de ce pays, car ils seront notre pâture: leur ombre les a abandonnés et l'Éternel est avec nous, ne les craignez point!"

Por tanto, no seáis rebeldes contra Jehová, ni temáis al pueblo de aquesta tierra, porque nuestro pan son: su amparo se ha apartado de ellos, y con nosotros está Jehová: no los temáis.

Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Only don’t rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us. Don’t fear them.”

Or, toute la communauté se disposait à les lapider, lorsque la gloire divine apparut, dans la tente d'assignation, à tous les enfants d'Israël.

Entonces toda la multitud habló de apedrearlos con piedras. Mas la gloria de Jehová se mostró en el tabernáculo del testimonio á todos los hijos de Israel.

But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. The LORD’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel.

Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse: "Quand cessera ce peuple de m'outrager? Combien de temps manquera-t-il de confiance en moi, malgré tant de prodiges que j'ai opérés au milieu de lui?

Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: ¿Hasta cuándo me ha de irritar este pueblo? ¿hasta cuándo no me ha de creer con todas las señales que he hecho en medio de ellos?

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

The LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? How long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?

Je veux le frapper de la peste et l'anéantir, et te faire devenir toi-même un peuple plus grand et plus puissant que celui-ci."

Yo le heriré de mortandad, y lo destruiré, y á ti te pondré sobre gente grande y más fuerte que ellos.

I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

Moïse répondit à l'Éternel: "Mais les Egyptiens ont su que tu as, par ta puissance, fait sortir ce peuple du milieu d'eux,

Y Moisés respondió á Jehová: Oiránlo luego los Egipcios, porque de en medio de ellos sacaste á este pueblo con tu fortaleza:

And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

Moses said to the LORD, “Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them.

et ils l'ont dit aux habitants de ce pays-là; ils ont appris, Seigneur, que tu es au milieu de ce peuple, que celui qu'ils ont vu face à face, c'est toi-même, Seigneur; que ta nuée plane au-dessus d'eux; que, dans une colonne nébuleuse, tu les guides le jour, et, dans une colonne de feu, la nuit.

Y lo dirán á los habitadores de esta tierra; los cuales han oído que tú, oh Jehová, estabas en medio de este pueblo, que ojo á ojo aparecías tú, oh Jehová, y que tu nube estaba sobre ellos, y que de día ibas delante de ellos en columna de nube, y de noche en columna de fuego:

And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you LORD are among this people; for you LORD are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Et tu ferais mourir ce peuple comme un seul homme! Mais ces nations, qui ont entendu parler de toi, diront alors:

Y que has hecho morir á este pueblo como á un hombre: y las gentes que hubieren oído tu fama hablarán, diciendo:

Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,

"Parce que l'Éternel n'a pu faire entrer ce peuple dans le pays qu'il leur avait solennellement promis, il les a égorgés dans le désert."

Porque no pudo Jehová meter este pueblo en la tierra de la cual les había jurado, los mató en el desierto.

Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’

Maintenant donc, de grâce, que la puissance d'Adonaï se déploie, comme tu l'as déclaré en disant:

Ahora, pues, yo te ruego que sea magnificada la fortaleza del Señor, como lo hablaste, diciendo:

And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying,

"L'Éternel est plein de longanimité et de bienveillance; il supporte le crime et la rébellion, sans toutefois les absoudre, faisant justice du crime des pères sur les enfants jusqu'à la troisième et à la quatrième génération."

Jehová, tardo de ira y grande en misericordia, que perdona la iniquidad y la rebelión, y absolviendo no absolverá al culpado; que visita la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta los terceros y hasta los cuartos.

The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

‘The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’

Oh! Pardonne le crime de ce peuple selon ta clémence infinie, et comme tu as pardonné à ce peuple depuis l'Egypte jusqu'ici!"

Perdona ahora la iniquidad de este pueblo según la grandeza de tu misericordia, y como has perdonado á este pueblo desde Egipto hasta aquí.

Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”

L'Éternel répondit: "Je pardonne, selon ta demande.

Entonces Jehová dijo: yo lo he perdonado conforme á tu dicho:

And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

The LORD said, “I have pardoned according to your word;

Mais, aussi vrai que je suis vivant et que la majesté de l'Éternel remplit toute la terre,

Mas, ciertamente vivo yo y mi gloria hinche toda la tierra,

But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

but in very deed—as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the LORD’s glory—

tous ces hommes qui ont vu ma gloire et mes prodiges, en Egypte et dans le désert, et qui m'ont tenté dix fois déjà, et n'ont pas obéi à ma voix,

Que todos los que vieron mi gloria y mis señales que he hecho en Egipto y en el desierto, y me han tentado ya diez veces, y no han oído mi voz,

Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

jamais ils ne verront ce pays que j'ai promis par serment à leurs aïeux; eux tous qui m'ont outragé, ils ne le verront point!

No verán la tierra de la cual juré á sus padres: no, ninguno de los que me han irritado la verá.

Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it.

Pour mon serviteur Caleb, attendu qu'il a été animé d'un esprit différent et m'est resté pleinement fidèle, je le ferai entrer dans le pays où il a pénétré, et sa postérité le possédera.

Empero mi siervo Caleb, por cuanto hubo en él otro espíritu, y cumplió de ir en pos de mí, yo le meteré en la tierra donde entró, y su simiente la recibirá en heredad.

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it.

Or, l'Amalécite et le Cananéen occupent la vallée: demain, changez de direction et partez pour le désert, du côté de la mer des Joncs."

Ahora bien, el Amalecita y el Cananeo habitan en el valle; volveos mañana, y partíos al desierto, camino del mar Bermejo.

(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

Since the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley, tomorrow turn and go into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”

L'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, en disant:

Y Jehová habló á Moisés y á Aarón, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

"Jusqu'à quand tolérerai-je cette communauté perverse et ses murmures contre moi? Car les murmures que les enfants d'Israël profèrent contre moi, je les ai entendus.

¿Hasta cuándo oiré esta depravada multitud que murmura contra mí, las querellas de los hijos de Israel, que de mí se quejan?

How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation that complain against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me.

Dis-leur: Vrai comme je vis, a dit l'Éternel! Selon les propres paroles que j'ai entendues de vous, ainsi vous ferai-je.

Diles: Vivo yo, dice Jehová, que según habéis hablado á mis oídos, así haré yo con vosotros:

Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Tell them, ‘As I live, says the LORD, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so I will do to you.

Vos cadavres resteront dans ce désert, vous tous qui avez été dénombrés, tous tant que vous êtes, âgés de vingt ans et au-delà, qui avez murmuré contre moi!

En este desierto caerán vuestros cuerpos; todos vuestros contados según toda vuestra cuenta, de veinte años arriba, los cuales habéis murmurado contra mí;

Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,

Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have complained against me,

Jamais vous n'entrerez, vous, dans ce pays où j'avais solennellement promis de vous établir! II n'y aura d'exception que pour Caleb, fils de Yefounné, et Josué, fils de Noun.

Vosotros á la verdad no entraréis en la tierra, por la cual alcé mi mano de haceros habitar en ella; exceptuando á Caleb hijo de Jephone, y á Josué hijo de Nun.

Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

surely you shall not come into the land concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Vos enfants aussi, dont vous disiez: "Ils nous seront ravis", je les y amènerai, et ils connaîtront ce pays dont vous n'avez point voulu.

Mas vuestros chiquitos, de los cuales dijisteis que serían por presa, yo los introduciré, y ellos conocerán la tierra que vosotros despreciasteis.

But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

But I will bring in your little ones that you said should be captured or killed, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.

Mais vos cadavres, à vous, pourriront dans ce désert.

Y en cuanto á vosotros, vuestros cuerpos caerán en este desierto.

But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.

But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

Vos enfants iront errant dans le désert, quarante années, expiant vos infidélités, jusqu'à ce que le désert ait reçu toutes vos dépouilles.

Y vuestros hijos andarán pastoreando en el desierto cuarenta años, y ellos llevarán vuestras fornicaciones, hasta que vuestros cuerpos sean consumidos en el desierto.

And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies are consumed in the wilderness.

Selon le nombre de jours que vous avez exploré le pays, autant de jours autant d'années vous porterez la peine de vos crimes, partant quarante années; et vous connaîtrez les effets de mon hostilité.

Conforme al número de los días, de los cuarenta días en que reconocisteis la tierra, llevaréis vuestras iniquidades cuarenta años, un año por cada día; y conoceréis mi castigo.

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know my alienation.’

Moi, l'Éternel, je le déclare: oui, c'est ainsi que j'en userai avec toute cette communauté perverse, ameutée contre moi. C'est dans ce désert qu'elle prendra fin, c'est là qu'elle doit mourir."

Yo Jehová he hablado; así haré á toda esta multitud perversa que se ha juntado contra mí; en este desierto serán consumidos, y ahí morirán.

I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

I, the LORD, have spoken. I will surely do this to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against me. In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.”

De fait, les hommes que Moïse avait envoyés explorer le pays, et qui, de retour, avaient fait murmurer contre lui toute la communauté en décriant ce pays,

Y los varones que Moisés envió á reconocer la tierra, y vueltos habían hecho murmurar contra él á toda la congregación, desacreditando aquel país,

And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,

The men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up an evil report against the land,

ces hommes, qui avaient débité de méchants propos sur le pays, périrent frappés par le Seigneur.

Aquellos varones que habían hablado mal de la tierra, murieron de plaga delante de Jehová.

Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

Josué, fils de Noun, et Caleb, fils de Yefounné, furent seuls épargnés, entre ces hommes qui étaient allés explorer le pays.

Mas Josué hijo de Nun, y Caleb hijo de Jephone, quedaron con vida de entre aquellos hombres que habían ido á reconocer la tierra.

But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

Moïse rapporta ces paroles à tous les enfants d'Israël; et le peuple s'en affligea fort.

Y Moisés dijo estas cosas á todos los hijos de Israel, y el pueblo se enlutó mucho.

And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

Puis, le lendemain de bon matin, ils se dirigèrent vers le sommet de la montagne, disant: "Nous sommes prêts à marcher vers le lieu que l'Éternel a désigné, car nous avons péché."

Y levantáronse por la mañana, y subieron á la cumbre del monte, diciendo: Henos aquí para subir al lugar del cual ha hablado Jehová; porque hemos pecado.

And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

They rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised; for we have sinned.”

Moïse leur dit: "Pourquoi transgressez-vous la parole de l'Éternel? Cela ne vous réussira point!

Y dijo Moisés: ¿Por qué quebrantáis el dicho de Jehová? Esto tampoco os sucederá bien.

And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

Moses said, “Why now do you disobey the commandment of the LORD, since it shall not prosper?

N'y montez pas, car l'Éternel n'est pas au milieu de vous; ne vous livrez pas aux coups de vos ennemis.

No subáis, porque Jehová no está en medio de vosotros, no seáis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos.

Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Don’t go up, for the LORD isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies.

Car l'Amalécite et le Cananéen sont là sur votre chemin, et vous tomberiez sous leur glaive; aussi bien, vous vous êtes éloignés de l'Éternel, l'Éternel ne sera point avec vous!"

Porque el Amalecita y el Cananeo están allí delante de vosotros, y caeréis á cuchillo: pues por cuanto os habéis retraído de seguir á Jehová, por eso no será Jehová con vosotros.

For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following the LORD; therefore the LORD will not be with you.”

Mais ils s'obstinèrent à monter au sommet de la montagne; cependant, ni l'arche d'alliance du Seigneur ni Moïse ne bougèrent du milieu du camp.

Sin embargo, se obstinaron en subir á la cima del monte: mas el arca de la alianza de Jehová, y Moisés, no se apartaron de en medio del campo.

But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain. Nevertheless, the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses didn’t depart out of the camp.

L'Amalécite et le Cananéen, qui habitaient sur cette montagne, en descendirent, les battirent et les taillèrent en pièces jusqu'à Horma.

Y descendieron el Amalecita y el Cananeo, que habitaban en aquel monte, é hiriéronlos y derrotáronlos, persiguiéndolos hasta Horma.

Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.

Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites who lived in that mountain, and struck them and beat them down even to Hormah.
