Al ver Balaam que a Yahvé le agradaba bendecir a Israel, ya no fue a buscar presagios mágicos como las otras veces. En lugar de eso, dirigió su mirada hacia el desierto.
Y COMO vió Balaam que parecía bien á Jehová que él bendijese á Israel, no fué, como la primera y segunda vez, á encuentro de agüeros, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;
And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

Al alzar la vista y ver al pueblo de Israel acampado, ordenado por tribus, el Espíritu de Dios vino sobre él,
Y alzando sus ojos, vió á Israel alojado por sus tribus; y el espíritu de Dios vino sobre él.
And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

y pronunció esta profecía: “Mensaje de Balaam, hijo de Beor; mensaje del hombre que ve con claridad.
Entonces tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, y dijo el varón de ojos abiertos:

Mensaje del que escucha las palabras de Dios, del que tiene visiones del Todopoderoso, del que cae al suelo pero tiene los ojos bien abiertos:
Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios, el que vió la visión del Omnipotente; caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
¡Qué hermosas son tus tiendas, Jacob! ¡Qué bellos son tus campamentos, Israel!
¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob, tus habitaciones, oh Israel!
How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your dwellings, Israel!
Se extienden como valles, como jardines junto a un río; son como áloes plantados por Yahvé, como cedros junto al agua.
Como arroyos están extendidas, como huertos junto al río, como lináloes plantados por Jehová, como cedros junto á las aguas.
As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
As valleys they are spread out, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which the LORD has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
De sus cántaros el agua se desborda; su semilla tendrá agua en abundancia. Su rey será más poderoso que Agag, y su reino será muy respetado.
De sus manos destilarán aguas, y su simiente será en muchas aguas: y ensalzarse ha su rey más que Agag, y su reino será ensalzado.
He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.
Dios los sacó de Egipto; son tan fuertes como un toro salvaje. Israel devorará a las naciones enemigas; les romperá los huesos y los atravesará con sus flechas.
Dios lo sacó de Egipto; tiene fuerzas como de unicornio: comerá á las gentes sus enemigas, y desmenuzará sus huesos, y asaeteará con sus saetas.
God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall consume the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
Se acuesta a descansar como un león; como una leona, ¿quién se atreve a despertarlo? ¡Benditos sean los que te bendigan, y malditos los que te maldigan!”.
Se encorvará para echarse como león, y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará? Benditos los que te bendijeren, y malditos los que te maldijeren.
He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”
Balac se enfureció tanto con Balaam que golpeó las manos de rabia y le dijo: “Te mandé llamar para que maldijeras a mis enemigos, ¡y resulta que ya los has bendecido tres veces!
Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus palmas le dijo: Para maldecir á mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has resueltamente bendecido ya tres veces.
And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
¡Lárgate ya a tu casa! Pensaba darte grandes honores, pero ya ves que Yahvé te ha dejado sin nada”.
Húyete, por tanto, ahora á tu lugar: yo dije que te honraría, mas he aquí que Jehová te ha privado de honra.
Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.
Therefore, flee to your place, now! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, the LORD has kept you back from honor.”
Balaam le contestó a Balac: “Yo se lo advertí muy bien a los mensajeros que me enviaste. Les dije:
Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también á tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:
And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,
Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,
‘Aunque Balac me regalara su palacio lleno de plata y oro, yo no podría desobedecer la orden de Yahvé haciendo algo bueno o malo por mi propia cuenta. Solo puedo decir lo que Yahvé me ordene decir’.
Si Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y oro, yo no podré traspasar el dicho de Jehová para hacer cosa buena ni mala de mi arbitrio; mas lo que Jehová hablare, eso diré yo?
If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the LORD’s word, to do either good or bad from my own mind. I will say what the LORD says’?
Así que ahora me regreso a mi tierra. Pero antes de irme, te voy a anunciar lo que este pueblo le hará al tuyo en el futuro”.
He aquí yo me voy ahora á mi pueblo: por tanto, ven, te indicaré lo que este pueblo ha de hacer á tu pueblo en los postrimeros días.
And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”
Y pronunció esta profecía: “Mensaje de Balaam, hijo de Beor; mensaje del hombre que ve con claridad.

Mensaje del que escucha las palabras de Dios, del que conoce la sabiduría del Altísimo, del que tiene visiones del Todopoderoso, del que cae al suelo pero tiene los ojos bien abiertos:
Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Jehová, y el que sabe la ciencia del Altísimo, el que vió la visión del Omnipotente; caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
Lo veo, pero no ahora; lo contemplo, pero no está cerca. Una estrella surgirá de Jacob; un rey se levantará en Israel. Le aplastará la cabeza a Moab, y acabará con todos los descendientes de Set.
Verélo, mas no ahora: lo miraré, mas no de cerca: saldrá ESTRELLA de Jacob, y levantaráse cetro de Israel, y herirá los cantones de Moab, y destruirá á todos los hijos de Seth.
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.
Conquistará a Edom; se adueñará de Seir, su enemigo, mientras que Israel se fortalecerá.
Y será tomada Edom, será también tomada Seir por sus enemigos, e Israel se portará varonilmente.
And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemy, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.
De Jacob saldrá un líder que destruirá a los que queden en la ciudad”.
Y el de Jacob se enseñoreará, y destruirá de la ciudad lo que quedare.
Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”
Luego Balaam vio a los amalecitas y pronunció esta profecía: “Amalec fue la primera entre las naciones, pero al final será destruida por completo”.
Y viendo á Amalec, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Amalec, cabeza de gentes; mas su postrimería perecerá para siempre.
And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.”
Después vio a los quenitas y pronunció esta profecía: “Tu casa es muy segura; has puesto tu nido en las rocas.
Y viendo al Cineo, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Fuerte es tu habitación, pon en la peña tu nido:
And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
Pero los quenitas serán destruidos, hasta que Asiria se los lleve prisioneros”.
Que el Cineo será echado, cuando Assur te llevará cautivo.
Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”
Finalmente, pronunció esta otra profecía: “¡Ay! ¿Quién podrá sobrevivir cuando Dios haga esto?
Todavía tomó su parábola, y dijo: ¡Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?
And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
Llegarán barcos desde las costas de Quitim; oprimirán a Asiria y a Heber, pero al final, ellos también serán destruidos”.
Y vendrán navíos de la costa de Cittim, y afligirán á Assur, afligirán también á Eber: mas él también perecerá para siempre.
And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”
Después de esto, Balaam se levantó y se regresó a su tierra; y Balac también se fue por su lado.
Entonces se levantó Balaam, y se fué, y volvióse á su lugar: y también Balac se fué por su camino.
And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.
