1Und als Bileam sah, daß es gut war in den Augen Jehovas, Israel zu segnen, so ging er nicht, wie die anderen Male, auf Wahrsagerei aus, sondern richtete sein Angesicht nach der Wüste hin.
2Und Bileam erhob seine Augen und sah Israel, gelagert nach seinen Stämmen; und der Geist Gottes kam über ihn.
3Und er hob seinen Spruch an und sprach: Es spricht Bileam, der Sohn Beors, und es spricht der Mann geöffneten Auges.
4Es spricht, der da hört die Worte Gottes, der ein Gesicht des Allmächtigen sieht, der hinfällt und enthüllter Augen ist:
5Wie schön sind deine Zelte, Jakob, deine Wohnungen, Israel!
6Gleich Tälern breiten sie sich aus, gleich Gärten am Strome, gleich Aloebäumen, die Jehova gepflanzt hat, gleich Zedern am Gewässer!
7Wasser wird fließen aus seinen Eimern, und sein Same wird in großen Wassern sein; und sein König wird höher sein als Agag, und sein Königreich wird erhaben sein.
8Gott hat ihn aus Ägypten herausgeführt; sein ist die Stärke des Wildochsen. Er wird die Nationen, seine Feinde, fressen und ihre Gebeine zermalmen und mit seinen Pfeilen sie zerschmettern.
9Er duckt sich, er legt sich nieder wie ein Löwe und wie eine Löwin; wer will ihn aufreizen? Die dich segnen, sind gesegnet, und die dich verfluchen, sind verflucht!
10Da entbrannte der Zorn Balaks wider Bileam, und er schlug seine Hände zusammen; und Balak sprach zu Bileam: Meine Feinde zu verwünschen, habe ich dich gerufen, und siehe, du hast sie sogar gesegnet, nun dreimal!
11Und nun fliehe an deinen Ort. Ich hatte gesagt, ich wolle dich hoch ehren; und siehe, Jehova hat dir die Ehre verwehrt.
12Und Bileam sprach zu Balak: Habe ich nicht auch zu deinen Boten, die du zu mir gesandt hast, geredet und gesagt:
13Wenn Balak mir sein Haus voll Silber und Gold gäbe, so vermöchte ich nicht den Befehl Jehovas zu übertreten, um aus meinem eigenen Herzen Gutes oder Böses zu tun; was Jehova reden wird, das werde ich reden?
14Und nun siehe, ich gehe zu meinem Volke. Komm, ich will dir anzeigen, was dieses Volk deinem Volke tun wird am Ende der Tage.
15Und er hob seinen Spruch an und sprach: Es spricht Bileam, der Sohn Beors, und es spricht der Mann geöffneten Auges.
16Es spricht, der da hört die Worte Gottes, und der die Erkenntnis des Höchsten besitzt, der ein Gesicht des Allmächtigen sieht, der hinfällt und enthüllter Augen ist:
17Ich sehe ihn, aber nicht jetzt, ich schaue ihn, aber nicht nahe; es tritt hervor ein Stern aus Jakob, und ein Zepter erhebt sich aus Israel und zerschlägt die Seiten Moabs und zerschmettert alle Söhne des Getümmels.
18Und Edom wird ein Besitz sein und Seir ein Besitz, sie, seine Feinde; und Israel wird Mächtiges tun.
19Und einer aus Jakob wird herrschen, und er wird aus der Stadt den Überrest vertilgen. -
20Und er sah Amalek und hob seinen Spruch an und sprach: Die erste der Nationen war Amalek, aber sein Letztes wird dem Untergang verfallen. -
21Und er sah die Keniter und hob seinen Spruch an und sprach: Fest ist dein Wohnsitz, und auf den Felsen gesetzt dein Nest;
22doch der Keniter soll vertilgt werden, bis Assur dich gefangen wegführt. -
23Und er hob seinen Spruch an und sprach: Wehe! Wer wird am Leben bleiben, sobald Gott dieses herbeiführt?
24Und Schiffe werden kommen von der Küste von Kittim und werden Assur demütigen, und Heber demütigen, und auch er wird dem Untergang verfallen. -
25Und Bileam machte sich auf und ging und kehrte zurück an seinen Ort; und auch Balak zog seines Weges.

1Y COMO vió Balaam que parecía bien á Jehová que él bendijese á Israel, no fué, como la primera y segunda vez, á encuentro de agüeros, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;
2Y alzando sus ojos, vió á Israel alojado por sus tribus; y el espíritu de Dios vino sobre él.
3Entonces tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, y dijo el varón de ojos abiertos:
4Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios, el que vió la visión del Omnipotente; caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
5¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob, tus habitaciones, oh Israel!
6Como arroyos están extendidas, como huertos junto al río, como lináloes plantados por Jehová, como cedros junto á las aguas.
7De sus manos destilarán aguas, y su simiente será en muchas aguas: y ensalzarse ha su rey más que Agag, y su reino será ensalzado.
8Dios lo sacó de Egipto; tiene fuerzas como de unicornio: comerá á las gentes sus enemigas, y desmenuzará sus huesos, y asaeteará con sus saetas.
9Se encorvará para echarse como león, y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará? Benditos los que te bendijeren, y malditos los que te maldijeren.
10Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus palmas le dijo: Para maldecir á mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has resueltamente bendecido ya tres veces.
11Húyete, por tanto, ahora á tu lugar: yo dije que te honraría, mas he aquí que Jehová te ha privado de honra.
12Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también á tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:
13Si Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y oro, yo no podré traspasar el dicho de Jehová para hacer cosa buena ni mala de mi arbitrio; mas lo que Jehová hablare, eso diré yo?
14He aquí yo me voy ahora á mi pueblo: por tanto, ven, te indicaré lo que este pueblo ha de hacer á tu pueblo en los postrimeros días.
15Y tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, dijo el varón de ojos abiertos:
16Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Jehová, y el que sabe la ciencia del Altísimo, el que vió la visión del Omnipotente; caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
17Verélo, mas no ahora: lo miraré, mas no de cerca: saldrá ESTRELLA de Jacob, y levantaráse cetro de Israel, y herirá los cantones de Moab, y destruirá á todos los hijos de Seth.
18Y será tomada Edom, será también tomada Seir por sus enemigos, e Israel se portará varonilmente.
19Y el de Jacob se enseñoreará, y destruirá de la ciudad lo que quedare.
20Y viendo á Amalec, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Amalec, cabeza de gentes; mas su postrimería perecerá para siempre.
21Y viendo al Cineo, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Fuerte es tu habitación, pon en la peña tu nido:
22Que el Cineo será echado, cuando Assur te llevará cautivo.
23Todavía tomó su parábola, y dijo: ¡Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?
24Y vendrán navíos de la costa de Cittim, y afligirán á Assur, afligirán también á Eber: mas él también perecerá para siempre.
25Entonces se levantó Balaam, y se fué, y volvióse á su lugar: y también Balac se fué por su camino.

1And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.
3And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
4He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
5How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
6As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
7He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
8God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
9He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
10And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
11Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.
12And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,
13If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
14And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
15And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
16He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
17I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
18And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
19Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
20And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
21And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
22Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
23And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
24And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
25And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.

1When Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to use divination, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
3He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;
4he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
5How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your dwellings, Israel!
6As valleys they are spread out, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which the LORD has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
7Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.
8God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall consume the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
9He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”
10Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
11Therefore, flee to your place, now! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, the LORD has kept you back from honor.”
12Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,
13‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the LORD’s word, to do either good or bad from my own mind. I will say what the LORD says’?
14Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”
15He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;
16he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
17I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.
18Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemy, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.
19Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”
20He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.”
21He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
22Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”
23He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
24But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”
