Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Toma todos los príncipes del pueblo, y ahórcalos á Jehová delante del sol; y la ira del furor de Jehová se apartará de Israel.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

« Phinées, fils d'Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, le prêtre, a détourné ma fureur de dessus les enfants d'Israël, parce qu'il a été animé de ma jalousie au milieu d'eux ; et je n'ai point, dans ma jalousie, consumé les enfants d'Israël.
Phinees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, ha hecho tornar mi furor de los hijos de Israel, llevado de celo entre ellos: por lo cual yo no he consumido en mi celo á los hijos de Israel.
Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

La femme Madianite qui fut tuée s'appelait Cozbi, fille de Sur, chef de tribu, de maison patriarcale en Madian.
Y el nombre de la mujer Madianita muerta, era Cozbi, hija de Zur, príncipe de pueblos, padre de familia en Madián.
And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.

Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

« Traitez les Madianites en ennemis, et tuez-les ;
Hostilizaréis á los Madianitas, y los heriréis:
Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
“Harass the Midianites, and strike them;
car ils ont agi en ennemis à votre égard, en vous séduisant par leurs ruses, au moyen de Phogor, au moyen de Cozbi, fille d'un chef de Madian, leur sœur, qui fut tuée le jour de la plaie survenue à l'occasion de Phogor. »
Por cuanto ellos os afligieron á vosotros con sus ardides, con que os han engañado en el negocio de Peor, y en el negocio de Cozbi, hija del príncipe de Madián, su hermana, la cual fué muerta el día de la mortandad por causa de Peor.
For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.
