Moisés instruyó al pueblo: “Que algunos de tus hombres se preparen para la batalla, para que puedan ir a atacar a los madianitas y llevar a cabo el castigo del Señor sobre ellos.
Entonces Moisés habló al pueblo, diciendo: Armaos algunos de vosotros para la guerra, é irán contra Madián, y harán la venganza de Jehová en Madián.
And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

Debes contribuir con mil hombres de cada tribu israelita”.

Los israelitas capturaron a las mujeres y niños madianitas, y tomaron como botín todas sus manadas, rebaños y posesiones.

Llevaron los prisioneros, el saqueo y el pillaje a Moisés, al sacerdote Eleazar y al resto de los israelitas donde estaban acampados en las llanuras de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó.
Y trajeron á Moisés, y á Eleazar el sacerdote, y á la congregación de los hijos de Israel, los cautivos y la presa y los despojos, al campo en los llanos de Moab, que están junto al Jordán de Jericó.

“¡Noten que estas mujeres sedujeron a los hombres israelitas, llevándolos a ser infieles al Señor en Peor, siguiendo el consejo de Balaam! Por eso el pueblo del Señor sufrió la plaga.
He aquí ellas fueron á los hijos de Israel, por consejo de Balaam, para causar prevaricación contra Jehová en el negocio de Peor; por lo que hubo mortandad en la congregación de Jehová.
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

También purifiquen toda su ropa y cualquier cosa hecha de cuero, pelo de cabra o madera”.

El sacerdote Eleazar dijo a los soldados que habían ido a la batalla: “Estos son los preceptos legales que el Señor ha ordenado llevar a cabo a Moisés:
Y Eleazar el sacerdote dijo á los hombres de guerra que venían de la guerra: Esta es la ordenanza de la ley que Jehová ha mandado á Moisés:
And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;

Todo lo que esté hecho de oro, plata, bronce, hierro, estaño y plomo,

El Señor le dijo a Moisés,

“Tú, el sacerdote Eleazar, y los líderes de la familia israelita deben tomar un registro de las personas y animales que fueron capturados.
Toma la cuenta de la presa que se ha hecho, así de las personas como de las bestias, tú y el sacerdote Eleazar, y las cabezas de los padres de la congregación:
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
“Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
Luego divídanlos entre las tropas que entraron en batalla y el resto de los israelitas.
Y partirás por mitad la presa entre los que pelearon, los que salieron á la guerra, y toda la congregación.
And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
Tomen como contribución al Señor de lo que se asigna a las tropas que fueron a la batalla una de cada quinientas personas, ganado, asnos u ovejas.
Y apartarás para Jehová el tributo de los hombres de guerra, que salieron á la guerra: de quinientos uno, así de las personas como de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas:
And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:

Tomen esto de su media parte y denlo al sacerdote Eleazar como ofrenda al Señor.

Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.

“De los israelitas; la mitad de la parte, toma una de cada cincuenta personas, ganado, asnos u ovejas, u otros animales, y dáselos a los levitas que cuidan del Tabernáculo del Señor”.
Y de la mitad perteneciente á los hijos de Israel tomarás uno de cincuenta, de las personas, de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas, de todo animal; y los darás á los Levitas, que tienen la guarda del tabernáculo de Jehová.
And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.

y le dijeron: “Nosotros, tus siervos, hemos comprobado las tropas que mandamos y no falta ni un solo hombre.
Y dijeron á Moisés: Tus siervos han tomado razón de los hombres de guerra que están en nuestro poder, y ninguno ha faltado de nosotros.
And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
They said to Moses, “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
Así que hemos traído al Señor una ofrenda de los objetos de oro que cada hombre recibió: brazaletes, pulseras, anillos, pendientes y collares, para que podamos estar bien ante el Señor”.
Por lo cual hemos ofrecido á Jehová ofrenda, cada uno de lo que ha hallado, vasos de oro, brazaletes, manillas, anillos, zarcillos, y cadenas, para hacer expiación por nuestras almas delante de Jehová.
We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
