1El Señor le dijo a Moisés:
2«Dile a Aarón que cuando encienda las siete lámparas del candelabro, debe hacerlo de forma que la luz se proyecte hacia delante».
3Y Aarón lo hizo así.
4El candelabro, incluyendo los adornos florales de la base y las ramas, estaba todo hecho de oro labrado a martillo. Su construcción correspondía al modelo exacto que el Señor le había mostrado a Moisés.
5Entonces el Señor le dijo a Moisés:
6«Ahora separa a los levitas de las demás tribus de Israel.
7Esto lo harás rociando sobre ellos el agua de la purificación, y haciendo que se afeiten el cuerpo y se bañen y se laven la ropa.
8Haz que traigan un becerro y una ofrenda de harina fina mezclada con aceite, junto con otro becerro para la ofrenda por el pecado.
9Luego haz venir a los levitas a la puerta del santuario, a vista de todo el pueblo.
10Entonces los jefes de las tribus pondrán las manos sobre ellos,
11y Aarón, como si estuviera haciendo una ofrenda, los presentará al Señor como un don de toda la nación de Israel. Así, los levitas quedarán consagrados y representarán a todo el pueblo en el servicio del Señor.
12»A continuación, los jefes levitas pondrán las manos sobre las cabezas de los becerros y los ofrecerán al Señor; uno para la ofrenda por el pecado y el otro para ser quemada en su totalidad, para perdonar las faltas y pecados de los levitas.
13Los levitas serán presentados a Aarón y sus hijos, de la misma forma en que cualquiera otra ofrenda al Señor es presentada a los sacerdotes.
14De esta forma dedicarás a los levitas de entre el resto del pueblo de Israel, y los levitas serán míos.
15Después de que los hayas santificado y presentado de esta forma, podrán entrar y salir del santuario en cumplimiento de sus deberes:
16»Son míos de entre el pueblo de Israel y yo los he aceptado en sustitución de todos los primogénitos de los israelitas. He tomado a los levitas como sustitutos,
17pues todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel son míos, tanto hombres como animales; yo me los apropié la noche en que maté a todos los primogénitos de los egipcios.
18Sí, yo he aceptado a los levitas en lugar de los primogénitos de Israel.
19Y los daré como presente a Aarón y sus hijos. Los levitas desempeñarán los deberes sagrados requeridos al pueblo de Israel en el santuario, y ofrecerán los sacrificios del pueblo para obtener el perdón por él. Así, no habrá plaga alguna en Israel como la habría si personas comunes entraran en el santuario».
20Moisés y Aarón y todo el pueblo de Israel dedicaron, pues, a los levitas, siguiendo cuidadosamente las instrucciones que el Señor le había dado a Moisés.
21Los levitas se purificaron y lavaron sus vestiduras, y Aarón los presentó al Señor haciendo un gesto de ofrenda. Luego hizo el rito del perdón sobre ellos para purificarlos.
22Después de esto entraron en el santuario como ayudantes de Aarón y sus hijos. Todo se hizo como el Señor le había mandado a Moisés.
23El Señor le dijo también a Moisés:
24«Los levitas comenzarán a servir en el santuario a la edad de veinticinco años,
25y se retirarán a los cincuenta.
26Después de su retiro pueden ayudar en el santuario en las tareas ligeras, pero no tendrán deberes regulares».

1Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
2Habla á Aarón, y dile: Cuando encendieres las lámparas, las siete lámparas alumbrarán frente á frente del candelero.
3Y Aarón lo hizo así; que encendió enfrente del candelero sus lámparas, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés.
4Y esta era la hechura del candelero: de oro labrado á martillo; desde su pie hasta sus flores era labrado á martillo: conforme al modelo que Jehová mostró á Moisés, así hizo el candelero.
5Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
6Toma á los Levitas de entre los hijos de Israel, y expíalos.
7Y así les harás para expiarlos: rocía sobre ellos el agua de la expiación, y haz pasar la navaja sobre toda su carne, y lavarán sus vestidos, y serán expiados.
8Luego tomarán un novillo, con su presente de flor de harina amasada con aceite; y tomarás otro novillo para expiación.
9Y harás llegar los Levitas delante del tabernáculo del testimonio, y juntarás toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel;
10Y cuando habrás hecho llegar los Levitas delante de Jehová, pondrán los hijos de Israel sus manos sobre los Levitas;
11Y ofrecerá Aarón los Levitas delante de Jehová en ofrenda de los hijos de Israel, y servirán en el ministerio de Jehová.
12Y los Levitas pondrán sus manos sobre las cabezas de los novillos: y ofrecerás el uno por expiación, y el otro en holocausto á Jehová, para expiar los Levitas.
13Y harás presentar los Levitas delante de Aarón, y delante de sus hijos, y los ofrecerás en ofrenda á Jehová.
14Así apartarás los Levitas de entre los hijos de Israel; y serán míos los Levitas.
15Y después de eso vendrán los Levitas á ministrar en el tabernáculo del testimonio: los expiarás pues, y los ofrecerás en ofrenda.
16Porque enteramente me son á mí dados los Levitas de entre los hijos de Israel, en lugar de todo aquel que abre matriz; helos tomado para mí en lugar de los primogénitos de todos los hijos de Israel.
17Porque mío es todo primogénito en los hijos de Israel, así de hombres como de animales; desde el día que yo herí todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto, los santifiqué para mí.
18Y he tomado los Levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos en los hijos de Israel.
19Y yo he dado en don los Levitas á Aarón y á sus hijos de entre los hijos de Israel, para que sirvan el ministerio de los hijos de Israel en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y reconcilien á los hijos de Israel; porque no haya plaga en los hijos de Israel, llegando los hijos de Israel al santuario.
20Y Moisés, y Aarón, y toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, hicieron de los Levitas conforme á todas las cosas que mandó Jehová á Moisés acerca de los Levitas; así hicieron de ellos los hijos de Israel.
21Y los Levitas se purificaron, y lavaron sus vestidos; y Aarón los ofreció en ofrenda delante de Jehová, é hizo Aarón expiación por ellos para purificarlos.
22Y así vinieron después los Levitas para servir en su ministerio en el tabernáculo del testimonio, delante de Aarón y delante de sus hijos: de la manera que mandó Jehová á Moisés acerca de los Levitas, así hicieron con ellos.
23Y habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
24Esto cuanto á los Levitas: de veinte y cinco años arriba entrarán á hacer su oficio en el servicio del tabernáculo del testimonio:
25Mas desde los cincuenta años volverán del oficio de su ministerio, y nunca más servirán:
26Pero servirán con sus hermanos en el tabernáculo del testimonio, para hacer la guarda, bien que no servirán en el ministerio. Así harás de los Levitas cuanto á sus oficios.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
3And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
4And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.
5And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
6Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
8Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
9And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
10And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
11And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.
12And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.
13And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
14Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
15And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
16For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
17For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
18And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
19And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
20And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
21And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
22And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
23And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
25And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
26But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
World English Bible
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Speak to Aaron, and tell him, ‘When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lamp stand.’”
3Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lamp stand, as the LORD commanded Moses.
4This was the workmanship of the lamp stand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work. He made the lamp stand according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses.
5The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
6“Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7You shall do this to them to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
8Then let them take a young bull and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and another young bull you shall take for a sin offering.
9You shall present the Levites before the Tent of Meeting. You shall assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
10You shall present the Levites before the LORD. The children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites,
11and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for a wave offering on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of the LORD.
12“The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
13You shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them as a wave offering to the LORD.
14Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.
15“After that, the Levites shall go in to do the service of the Tent of Meeting. You shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave offering.
16For they are wholly given to me from among the children of Israel; instead of all who open the womb, even the firstborn of all the children of Israel, I have taken them to me.
17For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are mine, both man and animal. On the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified them for myself.
18I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

20Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel did so to the Levites. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.
21The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a wave offering before the LORD and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
22After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
23The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
24“This is what is assigned to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting;
25and from the age of fifty years they shall retire from doing the work, and shall serve no more,
26but shall assist their brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to perform the duty, and shall perform no service. This is how you shall have the Levites do their duties.”
