That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Pues tenemos mucha alegría y consuelo por tu amor, hermano, ya que los corazones de los santos han sido reconfortados por medio de ti.
Porque tenemos gran gozo y consolación de tu caridad, de que por ti, oh hermano, han sido recreadas las entrañas de los santos.
For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
For we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
Por lo tanto, aunque en Cristo tengo la confianza suficiente para ordenarte lo que debes hacer,

Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
Therefore though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,
prefiero rogártelo por amor. Yo, Pablo, siendo ya anciano y ahora, además, prisionero de Cristo Jesús,
Ruégote más bien por amor, siendo tal cual soy, Pablo viejo, y aun ahora prisionero de Jesucristo:
Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

te ruego por mi hijo Onésimo, a quien engendré en mis prisiones.

I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whom I have become the father of in my chains,
En otro tiempo él te fue inútil, pero ahora nos es muy útil, tanto a ti como a mí.
El cual en otro tiempo te fué inútil, mas ahora á ti y á mí es útil;
Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.
Te lo devuelvo; recíbelo, pues, como a mi propio corazón.
El cual te vuelvo á enviar; tú pues, recíbele como á mis entrañas.
Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
I am sending him back. Therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,
Yo hubiera querido retenerlo conmigo, para que me sirviera en tu lugar en mis prisiones por el evangelio;
Yo quisiera detenerle conmigo, para que en lugar de ti me sirviese en las prisiones del evangelio;
Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the Good News.
pero no quise hacer nada sin tu consentimiento, para que tu favor no fuera por obligación, sino por tu propia voluntad.
Mas nada quise hacer sin tu consejo, porque tu beneficio no fuese como de necesidad, sino voluntario.
But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.
Porque tal vez se separó de ti por un tiempo para que lo pudieras tener para siempre,
Porque acaso por esto se ha apartado de ti por algún tiempo, para que le recibieses para siempre;
For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while that you would have him forever,
ya no como esclavo, sino como algo mejor que un esclavo, como un hermano amado. Lo es especialmente para mí, pero cuánto más lo será para ti, tanto en lo humano como en el Señor.
No ya como siervo, antes más que siervo, como hermano amado, mayormente de mí, pero cuánto más de ti, en la carne y en el Señor.
Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
Así que, si me consideras tu compañero, recíbelo como a mí mismo.
Así que, si me tienes por compañero, recíbele como á mí.
If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
Y si te ha perjudicado en algo o te debe algo, ponlo a mi cuenta.
Y si en algo te dañó, ó te debe, ponlo á mi cuenta.
If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
But if he has wronged you at all or owes you anything, put that to my account.
Yo, Pablo, lo escribo con mi propia mano: yo te lo pagaré (por no mencionarte que tú mismo me debes la vida).
Yo Pablo lo escribí de mi mano, yo lo pagaré: por no decirte que aun á ti mismo te me debes demás.
I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides).
Sí, hermano, concédeme este favor en el Señor; reconforta mi corazón en Cristo.

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

Te escribo confiando en tu obediencia, sabiendo que harás incluso más de lo que te pido.

Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
Además, prepárame alojamiento, porque espero que, gracias a las oraciones de ustedes, se me concederá ir a verlos.
Y asimismo prepárame también alojamiento; porque espero que por vuestras oraciones os tengo de ser concedido.
But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.
