Por causa do teu amor, irmão, tenho tido muita alegria e consolo, porque o coração dos santos, por teu intermédio, tem sido reanimado.
Porque tenemos gran gozo y consolación de tu caridad, de que por ti, oh hermano, han sido recreadas las entrañas de los santos.
For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

Por isso, embora eu tenha toda a liberdade em Cristo para ordenar o que deves fazer,

Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
Therefore though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,

Ruégote más bien por amor, siendo tal cual soy, Pablo viejo, y aun ahora prisionero de Jesucristo:
Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Eu peço a ti em favor de meu filho Onésimo, a quem gerei enquanto estava na cadeia.
Ruégote por mi hijo Onésimo, que he engendrado en mis prisiones,
I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whom I have become the father of in my chains,
Pois ele, antes, foi inútil para ti; mas, agora, é útil, tanto para ti quanto para mim.
El cual en otro tiempo te fué inútil, mas ahora á ti y á mí es útil;
Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.
Eu o envio de volta a ti, ele que é meu próprio coração.
El cual te vuelvo á enviar; tú pues, recíbele como á mis entrañas.
Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
I am sending him back. Therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,
Eu preferiria mantê-lo comigo, para que ele pudesse ajudar-me, em teu lugar, enquanto sou prisioneiro por causa do Evangelho.
Yo quisiera detenerle conmigo, para que en lugar de ti me sirviese en las prisiones del evangelio;
Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the Good News.
Entretanto, não quis fazer nada sem o teu consentimento, para que a tua bondade não fosse por obrigação, mas de livre vontade.
Mas nada quise hacer sin tu consejo, porque tu beneficio no fuese como de necesidad, sino voluntario.
But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.
Talvez por isso ele tenha sido separado de ti por um momento, para que o tivesses de volta definitivamente,
Porque acaso por esto se ha apartado de ti por algún tiempo, para que le recibieses para siempre;
For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while that you would have him forever,
não como um escravo; mas, melhor que um escravo, um amado irmão, especialmente de mim e, mais ainda, de ti, tanto na carne quanto no Senhor.
No ya como siervo, antes más que siervo, como hermano amado, mayormente de mí, pero cuánto más de ti, en la carne y en el Señor.
Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
Então, se tu me consideras companheiro, recebe-o como a mim mesmo.
Así que, si me tienes por compañero, recíbele como á mí.
If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
Se ele te prejudicou ou deve algo a ti, coloca isso em minha conta.
Y si en algo te dañó, ó te debe, ponlo á mi cuenta.
If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
But if he has wronged you at all or owes you anything, put that to my account.
Eu, Paulo, escrevo isto com minha própria mão: eu te pagarei, sem mencionar que me deves até a ti mesmo.
Yo Pablo lo escribí de mi mano, yo lo pagaré: por no decirte que aun á ti mismo te me debes demás.
I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

Confiado em tua obediência, estou escrevendo a ti, sabendo que farás ainda mais do que estou pedindo.
Te he escrito confiando en tu obediencia, sabiendo que aun harás más de lo que digo.
Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
Ao mesmo tempo, prepara um quarto de hóspedes para mim, pois espero que, por meio de vossas orações, eu vos seja restituído.
Y asimismo prepárame también alojamiento; porque espero que por vuestras oraciones os tengo de ser concedido.
But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
