1Pablo, prisionero por amor de Jesucristo, y el hermano Timoteo, a ti, Filemón, amado colaborador,
2y a la iglesia que se reúne en tu casa, a la hermana Apia y a Arquipo, compañero de lucha:
3Que Dios nuestro Padre y el Señor Jesucristo derramen en ustedes amor y paz.
4Siempre doy gracias a mi Dios cuando te recuerdo en mis oraciones,
5porque me han hablado del amor y de la fidelidad que profesas al Señor Jesús y a todos los que son del pueblo santo de Dios.
6Ruego a Dios que la fe que tenemos en común te lleve a darte cuenta de cuántas cosas buenas podemos hacer por amor a Cristo.
7Yo mismo he hallado gran gozo y consuelo en tu amor, hermano mío, porque los corazones de los que pertenecen al pueblo santo de Dios han hallado refrigerio en tu bondad.
8Por eso, aunque podría ordenarte lo que debes hacer en el nombre de Cristo,
9prefiero rogártelo en nombre del amor. Yo, Pablo, anciano ya y preso por la causa de Cristo,
10te suplico por mi hijo Onésimo, el cual llegó a ser hijo mío en mis prisiones.
11Él no te ha sido útil en el pasado, pero ahora nos es útil a ti y a mí.
12Te lo mando de regreso y con él te envío mi propio corazón.
13Hubiera querido retenerlo conmigo en esta prisión en la que estoy por predicar el evangelio, pues así me habría ayudado en lugar tuyo.
14Pero preferí no hacerlo sin tu consentimiento, pues no me gustan los favores forzados.
15Quizás Onésimo huyó de ti precisamente para que lo recuperaras para siempre,
16y ya no como esclavo sino como algo mucho mejor: como hermano amado. Para mí, él es muy especial. Ahora tienes razón para apreciarlo mucho más, no sólo como persona sino también como tu hermano en el Señor.
17Si de veras me consideras tu amigo, recíbelo con el mismo afecto con que me recibirías a mí.
18Si te hizo algún mal o si te robó algo, cárgalo a mi cuenta.
19Yo, Pablo, lo pagaré; y para constancia escribo esto con mi puño y letra. ¡No creo que sea necesario recordarte que tú a mí me debes lo que eres!
20Sí, hermano, alegra mi corazón en Cristo con este gesto de amor que te pido en el Señor.
21Te he escrito esta carta porque estoy seguro de que harás lo que te pido y mucho más.
22Ten una habitación lista para mí, pues espero que Dios contestará las oraciones de ustedes y permitirá que pronto vaya a verlos.
23Epafras, mi compañero de prisión por amor a Cristo Jesús te saluda.
24Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis colaboradores, te envían saludos también.
25Que el amor del Señor Jesucristo se derrame sobre ustedes.

1PABLO, prisionero de Jesucristo, y el hermano Timoteo, á Filemón amado, y coadjutor nuestro;
2Y á la amada Apphia, y á Archîpo, compañero de nuestra milicia, y á la iglesia que está en tu casa:
3Gracia á vosotros y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
4Doy gracias á mi Dios, haciendo siempre memoria de ti en mis oraciones.
5Oyendo tu caridad, y la fe que tienes en el Señor Jesús, y para con todos los santos;
6Para que la comunicación de tu fe sea eficaz, en el conocimiento de todo el bien que está en vosotros, por Cristo Jesús.
7Porque tenemos gran gozo y consolación de tu caridad, de que por ti, oh hermano, han sido recreadas las entrañas de los santos.
8Por lo cual, aunque tengo mucha resolución en Cristo para mandarte lo que conviene,
9Ruégote más bien por amor, siendo tal cual soy, Pablo viejo, y aun ahora prisionero de Jesucristo:
10Ruégote por mi hijo Onésimo, que he engendrado en mis prisiones,
11El cual en otro tiempo te fué inútil, mas ahora á ti y á mí es útil;
12El cual te vuelvo á enviar; tú pues, recíbele como á mis entrañas.
13Yo quisiera detenerle conmigo, para que en lugar de ti me sirviese en las prisiones del evangelio;
14Mas nada quise hacer sin tu consejo, porque tu beneficio no fuese como de necesidad, sino voluntario.
15Porque acaso por esto se ha apartado de ti por algún tiempo, para que le recibieses para siempre;
16No ya como siervo, antes más que siervo, como hermano amado, mayormente de mí, pero cuánto más de ti, en la carne y en el Señor.
17Así que, si me tienes por compañero, recíbele como á mí.
18Y si en algo te dañó, ó te debe, ponlo á mi cuenta.
19Yo Pablo lo escribí de mi mano, yo lo pagaré: por no decirte que aun á ti mismo te me debes demás.
20Sí, hermano, góceme yo de ti en el Señor; recrea mis entrañas en el Señor.
21Te he escrito confiando en tu obediencia, sabiendo que aun harás más de lo que digo.
22Y asimismo prepárame también alojamiento; porque espero que por vuestras oraciones os tengo de ser concedido.
23Te saludan Epafras, mi compañero en la prisión por Cristo Jesús,
24Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis cooperadores.
25La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vuestro espíritu. Amén. A Filemón fué enviada de Roma por Onésimo, siervo.

1Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
2And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
5Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
7For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
8Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
9Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
10I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
11Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
12Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
13Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
14But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
15For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
16Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
17If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
18If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
19I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
20Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
21Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
22But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
23There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;
24Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

1Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,
2to the beloved Apphia, to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the assembly in your house:
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,
5hearing of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
6that the fellowship of your faith may become effective in the knowledge of every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus.
7For we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
8Therefore though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,
9yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
10I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whom I have become the father of in my chains,
11who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.
12I am sending him back. Therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,
13whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the Good News.
14But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.
15For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while that you would have him forever,
16no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
17If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
18But if he has wronged you at all or owes you anything, put that to my account.
19I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides).
20Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in the Lord.
21Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
22Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.
23Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you,
24as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
