Paul et Timothée, serviteurs du Christ Jésus, à tous les saints dans le Christ Jésus qui sont à Philippes, aux évêques et aux diacres :

grâce et paix de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ !

Gracia sea á vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Je rends grâces à mon Dieu toutes les fois que je me souviens de vous, et dans toutes mes prières pour vous tous,

Doy gracias á mi Dios en toda memoria de vosotros,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

I thank my God whenever I remember you,

c'est avec joie que je lui adresse ma prière,

Siempre en todas mis oraciones haciendo oración por todos vosotros con gozo,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy,

à cause de votre concours unanime pour le progrès de l'Evangile, depuis le premier jours jusqu'à présent ;

Por vuestra comunión en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora:

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now;

et j'ai confiance que celui qui a commencé en vous une œuvre excellente, en poursuivra l'achèvement jusqu'au jour du Christ.

Estando confiado de esto, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesucristo;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

C'est une justice que je vous dois, de penser ainsi de vous tous, parce que je vous porte dans mon cœur, vous tous qui, soit dans mes liens, soit dans la défense et l'affermissement de l'Evangile, avez part à la même grâce que moi.

Como me es justo sentir esto de todos vosotros, por cuanto os tengo en el corazón; y en mis prisiones, y en la defensa y confirmación del evangelio, sois todos vosotros compañeros de mi gracia.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

Car Dieu m'en est témoin, c'est avec tendresse que je vous aime tous dans les entrailles de Jésus-Christ.

Porque Dios me es testigo de cómo os amo á todos vosotros en las entrañas de Jesucristo.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

Et ce que je lui demande, c'est que votre charité abonde de plus en plus en connaissance et en toute intelligence,

Y esto ruego, que vuestro amor abunde aun más y más en ciencia y en todo conocimiento,

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

pour discerner ce qui vaut le mieux, afin que vous soyez purs et irréprochables jusqu'au jour du Christ,

Para que discernáis lo mejor; que seáis sinceros y sin ofensa para el día de Cristo;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

remplis des fruits de justice, par Jésus-Christ, pour la gloire et la louange de Dieu.

Llenos de frutos de justicia, que son por Jesucristo, á gloria y loor de Dios.

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Frères, je désire que vous sachiez que ce qui m'est arrivé a plutôt tourné au progrès de l'Evangile.

Y quiero, hermanos, que sepáis que las cosas que me han sucedido, han redundado más en provecho del evangelio;

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,

En effet, pour ceux du prétoire, et pour tous les autres, il est devenu notoire que c'est pour le Christ que je suis dans les chaînes :

De manera que mis prisiones han sido célebres en Cristo en todo el pretorio, y á todos los demás;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ,

et la plupart des frères dans le Seigneur, encouragés par mes liens, ont redoublé de hardiesse pour annoncer sans crainte la parole de Dieu.

Y muchos de los hermanos en el Señor, tomando ánimo con mis prisiones, se atreven mucho más á hablar la palabra sin temor.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.

Quelques-uns, il est vrai, prêchent aussi Jésus-Christ par envie et par esprit d'opposition ; mais d'autres le font avec des dispositions bienveillantes.

Y algunos, á la verdad, predican á Cristo por envidia y porfía; mas algunos también por buena voluntad.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.

Ceux-ci agissent par charité, sachant que je suis établi pour la défense de l'Evangile ;

Los unos anuncian á Cristo por contención, no sinceramente, pensando añadir aflicción á mis prisiones;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;

tandis que les autres, animés d'un esprit de dispute, annoncent le Christ par des motifs qui ne sont pas purs, avec la pensée de me causer un surcroît d'affliction dans mes liens.

Pero los otros por amor, sabiendo que soy puesto por la defensa del evangelio.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

Mais quoi ? De quelque manière qu'on le fasse, que ce soit avec des arrière-pensées, ou sincèrement, le Christ est annoncé : je m'en réjouis, et je m'en réjouirai encore.

¿Qué pues? Que no obstante, en todas maneras, ó por pretexto ó por verdad, es anunciado Cristo; y en esto me huelgo, y aun me holgaré.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

Car je sais que cela tournera à mon salut, grâce à vos prières et à l'assistance de l'Esprit de Jésus-Christ :

Porque sé que esto se me tornará á salud, por vuestra oración, y por la suministración del Espíritu de Jesucristo;

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

For I know that this will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

selon l'attente où je suis et l'espérance que j'ai que je ne serai confondu en rien ; mais que, maintenant comme toujours, avec la plus entière assurance, le Christ sera glorifié dans mon corps, soit par ma vie, soit par ma mort ;

Conforme á mi mira y esperanza, que en nada seré confundido; antes bien con toda confianza, como siempre, ahora también será engrandecido Cristo en mi cuerpo, ó por vida, ó por muerte.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

car le Christ est ma vie, et la mort m'est un gain.

Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Cependant si en vivant plus longtemps dans la chair je dois tirer du fruit, je ne sais que choisir.

Mas si el vivir en la carne, esto me será para fruto de la obra, no sé entonces qué escoger;

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.

Je suis pressé des deux côtés : j'ai le désir de partir et d'être avec le Christ, ce qui est de beaucoup le meilleur ;

Porque de ambas cosas estoy puesto en estrecho, teniendo deseo de ser desatado, y estar con Cristo, lo cual es mucho mejor:

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

mais il est plus nécessaire que je demeure dans la chair à cause de vous.

Empero quedar en la carne es más necesario por causa de vosotros.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Et je le sais, j'en ai l'assurance, je demeurerai et je resterai avec vous tous, pour l'avancement et pour la joie de votre foi,

Y confiado en esto, sé que quedaré, que aun permaneceré con todos vosotros, para provecho vuestro y gozo de la fe;

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

afin que, par mon retour auprès de vous, vous ayez en moi un abondant sujet de vous glorifier en Jésus-Christ.

Para que crezca vuestra gloria de mí en Cristo Jesús por mi venida otra vez á vosotros.

That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

Seulement, conduisez-vous d'une manière digne de l'Evangile du Christ, afin que, soit que je vienne et que je vous voie, soit que je demeure absent, j'entende dire de vous que vous tenez ferme dans un seul et même esprit, combattant d'un même cœur pour la foi de l'Evangile,

Solamente que converséis como es digno del evangelio de Cristo; para que, ó sea que vaya á veros, ó que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, unánimes combatiendo juntamente por la fe del evangelio,

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

sans vous laisser aucunement intimider par les adversaires : c'est là pour eux un signe de ruine, mais pour vous, de salut, et par la volonté de Dieu.

Y en nada intimidados de los que se oponen: que á ellos ciertamente es indicio de perdición, mas á vosotros de salud; y esto de Dios;

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

Car c'est une grâce qu'il vous a faite, à vous, à l'égard du Christ, non seulement de croire en lui, mais encore de souffrir pour lui,

Porque á vosotros es concedido por Cristo, no sólo que creáis en él, sino también que padezcáis por él,

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

en soutenant le même combat que vous m'avez vu soutenir, et que, vous le savez, je soutiens encore aujourd'hui.

Teniendo el mismo conflicto que habéis visto en mí, y ahora oís estar en mí.

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
