Paul et Timothée, esclaves de Jésus Christ, à tous les saints dans le christ Jésus qui sont à Philippes, avec les surveillants et les serviteurs :

Grâce et paix à vous, de la part de Dieu notre Père et du seigneur Jésus Christ !

Gracia sea á vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Je rends grâces à mon Dieu pour tout le souvenir que j’ai de vous,

Doy gracias á mi Dios en toda memoria de vosotros,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

I thank my God whenever I remember you,

dans chacune de mes supplications, faisant toujours des supplications pour vous tous, avec joie,

Siempre en todas mis oraciones haciendo oración por todos vosotros con gozo,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy,

à cause de la part que vous prenez à l’évangile depuis le premier jour jusqu’à maintenant ;

Por vuestra comunión en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora:

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now;

étant assuré de ceci même, que celui qui a commencé en vous une bonne œuvre, l’achèvera jusqu’au jour de Jésus Christ :

Estando confiado de esto, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesucristo;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

comme il est juste que je pense ainsi de vous tous, parce que vous m’avez dans votre cœur, et que, dans mes liens et dans la défense et la confirmation de l’évangile, vous avez tous été participants de la grâce avec moi.

Como me es justo sentir esto de todos vosotros, por cuanto os tengo en el corazón; y en mis prisiones, y en la defensa y confirmación del evangelio, sois todos vosotros compañeros de mi gracia.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

Car Dieu m’est témoin que je pense avec une vive affection à vous tous, dans les entrailles du christ Jésus.

Porque Dios me es testigo de cómo os amo á todos vosotros en las entrañas de Jesucristo.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

Et je demande ceci dans mes prières, que votre amour abonde encore de plus en plus en connaissance et toute intelligence,

Y esto ruego, que vuestro amor abunde aun más y más en ciencia y en todo conocimiento,

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

pour que vous discerniez les choses excellentes, afin que vous soyez purs et que vous ne bronchiez pas jusqu’au jour de Christ,

Para que discernáis lo mejor; que seáis sinceros y sin ofensa para el día de Cristo;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

étant remplis du fruit de la justice, qui est par Jésus Christ à la gloire et à la louange de Dieu.

Llenos de frutos de justicia, que son por Jesucristo, á gloria y loor de Dios.

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Or, frères, je veux que vous sachiez que les circonstances par lesquelles je passe sont plutôt arrivées pour l’avancement de l’évangile ;

Y quiero, hermanos, que sepáis que las cosas que me han sucedido, han redundado más en provecho del evangelio;

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,

en sorte que mes liens sont devenus manifestes comme étant en Christ, dans tout le prétoire et à tous les autres,

De manera que mis prisiones han sido célebres en Cristo en todo el pretorio, y á todos los demás;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ,

et que la plupart des frères, ayant, dans le Seigneur, pris confiance par mes liens, ont beaucoup plus de hardiesse pour annoncer la parole sans crainte.

Y muchos de los hermanos en el Señor, tomando ánimo con mis prisiones, se atreven mucho más á hablar la palabra sin temor.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.

Quelques-uns, il est vrai, prêchent le Christ aussi par envie et par un esprit de dispute, mais quelques-uns aussi de bonne volonté ;

Y algunos, á la verdad, predican á Cristo por envidia y porfía; mas algunos también por buena voluntad.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.

ceux-ci par amour, sachant que je suis établi pour la défense de l’évangile ;

Los unos anuncian á Cristo por contención, no sinceramente, pensando añadir aflicción á mis prisiones;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;

ceux-là annoncent le Christ par esprit de parti, non pas purement, croyant susciter de la tribulation pour mes liens.

Pero los otros por amor, sabiendo que soy puesto por la defensa del evangelio.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

Quoi donc ? – Toutefois, de toute manière, soit comme prétexte, soit en vérité, Christ est annoncé ; et en cela je me réjouis et aussi je me réjouirai.

¿Qué pues? Que no obstante, en todas maneras, ó por pretexto ó por verdad, es anunciado Cristo; y en esto me huelgo, y aun me holgaré.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

Car je sais que ceci me tournera à salut par vos supplications et par les secours de l’Esprit de Jésus Christ,

Porque sé que esto se me tornará á salud, por vuestra oración, y por la suministración del Espíritu de Jesucristo;

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

For I know that this will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

selon ma vive attente et mon espérance que je ne serai confus en rien, mais qu’avec toute hardiesse, maintenant encore comme toujours, Christ sera magnifié dans mon corps, soit par la vie, soit par la mort.

Conforme á mi mira y esperanza, que en nada seré confundido; antes bien con toda confianza, como siempre, ahora también será engrandecido Cristo en mi cuerpo, ó por vida, ó por muerte.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

Car pour moi, vivre c’est Christ ; et mourir, un gain ;

Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

mais si †je dois vivre dans la chair, il en vaut bien la peine ; et ce que je dois choisir, je n’en sais rien ;

Mas si el vivir en la carne, esto me será para fruto de la obra, no sé entonces qué escoger;

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.

mais je suis pressé des deux côtés, ayant le désir de déloger et d’être avec Christ, †car cela est de beaucoup meilleur ;

Porque de ambas cosas estoy puesto en estrecho, teniendo deseo de ser desatado, y estar con Cristo, lo cual es mucho mejor:

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

mais il est plus nécessaire à cause de vous que je demeure dans la chair.

Empero quedar en la carne es más necesario por causa de vosotros.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Et ayant cette confiance, je sais que je demeurerai et que je resterai avec vous tous pour l’avancement et la joie de votre foi,

Y confiado en esto, sé que quedaré, que aun permaneceré con todos vosotros, para provecho vuestro y gozo de la fe;

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

afin qu’en moi vous ayez plus abondamment sujet de vous glorifier dans le christ Jésus, par mon retour au milieu de vous.

Para que crezca vuestra gloria de mí en Cristo Jesús por mi venida otra vez á vosotros.

That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

Seulement conduisez-vous d’une manière digne de l’évangile du Christ, afin que, soit que je vienne et que je vous voie, soit que je sois absent, j’apprenne à votre sujet que vous tenez ferme dans un seul et même esprit, combattant ensemble d’une même âme, avec la foi de l’évangile,

Solamente que converséis como es digno del evangelio de Cristo; para que, ó sea que vaya á veros, ó que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, unánimes combatiendo juntamente por la fe del evangelio,

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

et n’étant en rien épouvantés par les adversaires : ce qui pour eux est une démonstration de perdition, mais de votre salut, et cela de la part de Dieu :

Y en nada intimidados de los que se oponen: que á ellos ciertamente es indicio de perdición, mas á vosotros de salud; y esto de Dios;

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

parce qu’à vous, il a été gratuitement donné, par rapport à Christ, non seulement de croire en lui, mais aussi de souffrir pour lui,

Porque á vosotros es concedido por Cristo, no sólo que creáis en él, sino también que padezcáis por él,

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

ayant †à soutenir le même combat que vous avez vu en moi et que vous apprenez être maintenant en moi.

Teniendo el mismo conflicto que habéis visto en mí, y ahora oís estar en mí.

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
