Gnade euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

Gracia sea á vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ich danke meinem Gott bei aller meiner Erinnerung an euch

Doy gracias á mi Dios en toda memoria de vosotros,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

allezeit in jedem meiner Gebete, indem ich für euch alle das Gebet mit Freuden tue,

Siempre en todas mis oraciones haciendo oración por todos vosotros con gozo,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy,

wegen eurer Teilnahme an dem Evangelium vom ersten Tage an bis jetzt,

Por vuestra comunión en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora:

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now;

indem ich eben dessen in guter Zuversicht bin, daß der, welcher ein gutes Werk in euch angefangen hat, es vollführen wird bis auf den Tag Jesu Christi;

Estando confiado de esto, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesucristo;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

wie es für mich recht ist, daß ich dies in betreff euer aller denke, weil ihr mich im Herzen habt, und sowohl in meinen Banden, als auch in der Verantwortung und Bestätigung des Evangeliums, ihr alle meine Mitteilnehmer der Gnade seid.

Como me es justo sentir esto de todos vosotros, por cuanto os tengo en el corazón; y en mis prisiones, y en la defensa y confirmación del evangelio, sois todos vosotros compañeros de mi gracia.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

Denn Gott ist mein Zeuge, wie ich mich nach euch allen sehne mit dem Herzen Christi Jesu.

Porque Dios me es testigo de cómo os amo á todos vosotros en las entrañas de Jesucristo.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

Und um dieses bete ich, daß eure Liebe noch mehr und mehr überströme in Erkenntnis und aller Einsicht,

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

damit ihr prüfen möget, was das Vorzüglichere sei, auf daß ihr lauter und unanstößig seid auf den Tag Christi,

Para que discernáis lo mejor; que seáis sinceros y sin ofensa para el día de Cristo;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

erfüllt mit der Frucht der Gerechtigkeit, die durch Jesum Christum ist, zur Herrlichkeit und zum Preise Gottes.

Llenos de frutos de justicia, que son por Jesucristo, á gloria y loor de Dios.

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Ich will aber, daß ihr wisset, Brüder, daß meine Umstände mehr zur Förderung des Evangeliums geraten sind,

Y quiero, hermanos, que sepáis que las cosas que me han sucedido, han redundado más en provecho del evangelio;

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,

so daß meine Bande in Christo offenbar geworden sind in dem ganzen Prätorium und allen anderen,

De manera que mis prisiones han sido célebres en Cristo en todo el pretorio, y á todos los demás;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ,

und daß die meisten der Brüder, indem sie im Herrn Vertrauen gewonnen haben durch meine Bande, viel mehr sich erkühnen, das Wort Gottes zu reden ohne Furcht.

Y muchos de los hermanos en el Señor, tomando ánimo con mis prisiones, se atreven mucho más á hablar la palabra sin temor.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.

Etliche zwar predigen Christum auch aus Neid und Streit, etliche aber auch aus gutem Willen.

Y algunos, á la verdad, predican á Cristo por envidia y porfía; mas algunos también por buena voluntad.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Diese aus Liebe, indem sie wissen, daß ich zur Verantwortung des Evangeliums gesetzt bin;

Los unos anuncian á Cristo por contención, no sinceramente, pensando añadir aflicción á mis prisiones;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;

jene aus Streitsucht verkündigen Christum nicht lauter, indem sie meinen Banden Trübsal zu erwecken gedenken.

Pero los otros por amor, sabiendo que soy puesto por la defensa del evangelio.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

Was denn? Wird doch auf alle Weise, sei es aus Vorwand oder in Wahrheit, Christus verkündigt, und darüber freue ich mich, ja, ich werde mich auch freuen;

¿Qué pues? Que no obstante, en todas maneras, ó por pretexto ó por verdad, es anunciado Cristo; y en esto me huelgo, y aun me holgaré.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

denn ich weiß, daß dies mir zur Seligkeit ausschlagen wird durch euer Gebet und durch Darreichung des Geistes Jesu Christi,

Porque sé que esto se me tornará á salud, por vuestra oración, y por la suministración del Espíritu de Jesucristo;

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

For I know that this will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

nach meiner sehnlichen Erwartung und Hoffnung, daß ich in nichts werde zu Schanden werden, sondern mit aller Freimütigkeit, wie allezeit, so auch jetzt Christus hoch erhoben werden wird an meinem Leibe, sei es durch Leben oder durch Tod.

Conforme á mi mira y esperanza, que en nada seré confundido; antes bien con toda confianza, como siempre, ahora también será engrandecido Cristo en mi cuerpo, ó por vida, ó por muerte.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Denn das Leben ist für mich Christus, und das Sterben Gewinn.

Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia.

Wenn aber das Leben im Fleische mein Los ist, das ist für mich der Mühe wert, und was ich erwählen soll, weiß ich nicht.

Mas si el vivir en la carne, esto me será para fruto de la obra, no sé entonces qué escoger;

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.

Ich werde aber von beidem bedrängt, indem ich Lust habe, abzuscheiden und bei Christo zu sein, denn es ist weit besser;

Porque de ambas cosas estoy puesto en estrecho, teniendo deseo de ser desatado, y estar con Cristo, lo cual es mucho mejor:

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

das Bleiben im Fleische aber ist nötiger um euretwillen.

Empero quedar en la carne es más necesario por causa de vosotros.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Und in dieser Zuversicht weiß ich, daß ich bleiben und mit und bei euch allen bleiben werde zu eurer Förderung und Freude im Glauben,

Y confiado en esto, sé que quedaré, que aun permaneceré con todos vosotros, para provecho vuestro y gozo de la fe;

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

auf daß euer Rühmen in Christo Jesu meinethalben überströme durch meine Wiederkunft zu euch.

Para que crezca vuestra gloria de mí en Cristo Jesús por mi venida otra vez á vosotros.

That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

Wandelt nur würdig des Evangeliums des Christus, auf daß, sei es daß ich komme und euch sehe, oder abwesend bin, ich von euch höre, daß ihr feststehet in einem Geiste, indem ihr mit einer Seele mitkämpfet mit dem Glauben des Evangeliums,

Solamente que converséis como es digno del evangelio de Cristo; para que, ó sea que vaya á veros, ó que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, unánimes combatiendo juntamente por la fe del evangelio,

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

und in nichts euch erschrecken lasset von den Widersachern; was für sie ein Beweis des Verderbens ist, aber eures Heils, und das von Gott.

Y en nada intimidados de los que se oponen: que á ellos ciertamente es indicio de perdición, mas á vosotros de salud; y esto de Dios;

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

Denn euch ist es in Bezug auf Christum geschenkt worden, nicht allein an ihn zu glauben, sondern auch für ihn zu leiden,

Porque á vosotros es concedido por Cristo, no sólo que creáis en él, sino también que padezcáis por él,

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

da ihr denselben Kampf habt, den ihr an mir gesehen und jetzt von mir höret.

Teniendo el mismo conflicto que habéis visto en mí, y ahora oís estar en mí.

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
